My friend on Tenerife found a gsd on a street once. He had a broken lag and wounded eyes, so she took him to a doctor. After that, we kept him. If you looked into his eyes, you just wanted to hug him, because he had the world's saddest eyes. He was really huge and had a big head; I could wrap my arms around him. When other animals got more attention than he did, he got jeaulos and started touching you with his noes. He was the kindest and loving dog I've ever seen. He died yesterday. R.I.P.Chico

eh german shepherds are one of the widely varying breeds generally they are around 70 pounds but up to 90-100 isn't unheard of. and they have got to be the most platonic dog breed around... mine wants to cuddle 24/7 thinks he's a lap dog and he ain't exacty small

My male GSD is 1yr and 3months and he weighs 55-60kgs, he is a healthy boy walked often and very affectionate, our 4 week old son is goin to meet him in the next week, (have to wait to get him groomed as ha sheds a lot) not a bit worried as every time my GSD smells my sons pram he goes into gentle giant mode, might even have a full time babysitter in the next month or 2! :)

What a lovely dog! My old GS used to do something similar except she used to pin you to the ground and not let you up again until she'd finished kissing you. And another of ours used to vertually put your whole head in her mouth whilst kissing you. GS dogs are the best! Sadly we've got none left now (we had 5) :(( RIP girls

My male gsd is 7 months now, and at least this big if not a bit larger. Is it normal for a 7 month old to be as big as this one which is apparently 1.5 years old? Or is my boy going to be particularly large?? He is 30kg now and definitely not overweight, in fact he looks like he could put a little bit on...thanks for any answers :)

Don't worry, males are larger than females - the dog in my video is a female-she's 3 years old now and 30 Kg. So, if you see the breed standard, you'll see that your doggy is ok. Any photos with him???

@biologyboy75 GSD's depending on the breeder E.g, Large bone structure or if the breeders breed Hybrid Shepherds with a larger stockier body and more robust bone structure expect 50-65kilograms in a Hybrid Alsatian. GSD'S dont stop growing until their 1 and a half so 30ks for a 7 month old is VERY heavy indicating the dog may off been bread with the hybrid genes and physique. Average shepherds are around 30-40kgs in males. I had a GSD hybrid named Kaiser that weighed 63kilograms.

I have a 18 month old female that "attacks" me everytime I come home from work! I love getting "attacked" by my GSD. People give them such a bad rap because they think they are mean, vicious attack dogs, but it's not true. They are just VERY loyal, smart, loving and attached to their families.

yes, mine does the same thing. She has a few neighbor kids whom play with her. She attackes them with her tongue everytime they are around. Until one night it was funny to ding don me, not once twice, so I released her. She had them cornered at a neighbors house with bark, in seconds, until I released her. She then licked them like old times and I gave them the what for. She scared them enough not to tell parents.
