You can find it easily, just race against the ghost (the game tells you the difference between yourself and the ghost at the end of lap 1 & 2) and do some calculations.

the ending landing on the sidewall was crazy, because he was very close to losing it and would have hit the wall if not for a very fast insanely precise correction. if it was me, I would of hit the wall guaranteed, or just fell off trying to re-align :P
