I use a TV with my system (it has VGA input) and I was wondering if that is a losss in performance because I can't even play in Overall = Medium because it lags so bad. I was wondering if I got a monitor would it fix that?
your screen doesnt make any difference LOL if you have like a tv with 1680x1050 resolution or monitor with 1680x0150 resolution then they will ocourse run the same way...

lctm3, it isn't even possible to run Crysis on a 360 because the 360 isn't near as good as a PC you fraking Xbox 360 fan-boy! The PS3 could probably pull it off since they have an nVidida RSX! Xbox uses ATI. PC ALL THE WAY!!! 360 sux!

Newegg sometimes has cheaper products and is known to have a lot less tax is you buy the whole system. But Tigerdirect has good videos that I look at when I go for a part.
yea wen i get my new Cpu o Fraps it my 8600GTS is very powerfull it an max out crysis if i had my 5200+ dule core my 8600GTS is superclock from Ebga company at 720/2100 run meduim 1280x1024 res and wen i get my dule core i max it out i get meduim 1280x1024 re get 35-45 fps
@ dummyfagots it is a xp hack to get very high settings you cant use the very high settings but in high you get all dx10 effects from very high @ Sry for my english =) My System : Athlon 5000+ (2x 2,5 Ghz) ,3gb DDR2 ,Geforce 8600Gt Overclocked ( Core Clock : 650 , Shader Clock : 1685 Memory Clock : 800 Windows Vista Home Basic (Crysis = Very high 25-30 Fps)

hey man, i've got the gt/gts 8600gt im my budget system and im goin to overclock cpu and graphcis card...i am building specs are as folows: amd athlon x2 5000+ black edition planning on oc to 3.1 ghz. 2 gb ddr2 800 mhz ram seagate baracuda 7200 rpm asus m2n-e motherboard. i built it all and to my unfortunate discovery the motherboard failed to POST beep and i am waiting upon this to be replaced by the copmany i brought it from...:/ how will crysis run in: high med low thx.
i have 4 gig of ram and a nvidea 9800 gt but cpu is 2.4ghz and cant overclock coz bios is locked but u cud prob run it on medium with a gd steady fps.
LOL Dude you gotta get a motherboard, a good cpu, and a good gfx card, asus makes good motherboards, intel or amd both have good cpu's but intel is more overclockable, and nvidia makes good graphics cards :D
Hey guys i have ordered the Dell XPS M1530 it has the 256MB 8600M GT card, 4 GB of RAM, 2.5GHz T-9300 processor ..will crysis run smoothly with very high graphics?..plzz let me know!! and also is the Splinter Cell Convict is as realistic as crysis?
well i have played crysis on my laptop i have the 8600m gt ..it runs smooth with most of the settings high and only shadows low, physics medium and texture medium ...the game only gets a bit laggy when the aliens come to fight!! :(..especially the big one the exodus ..any idea by the way on how to kill that bastard??
Well basically the "God rays" etc which are DX10 features can be activated in DX9 through the config file google it and you should come across the relivant information ;)
The only real difference between DX9 and DX10 is a slight Color pallet change...the colors are more subtle....thats really it.

high i have a macbook pro 8600 gt 256mb and i wanna tweak crysis but i dunno how to. It has nothing to do with the fact that it's an apple but on medium it's kinda slow. What drivers can one use and how do you tweak this game to get very high performance and good quality at least
it runs slow ass , also why u say u have very high tweak or something, at the video i see you have selected HIGH , and very high isnt available to select. :\
right! there will be a TINY little bit of shading difference on vist (wich looks a LITTLE bit better, and ive seen it on screenshot comparison) but i dont get why peopel need to get dx10 cracks for xp... just buy vista, it's the future of gaming, you cant expect people to make xp cracks for games in teh future (now dx10 crack later xp cracks) but im off topic i think lol sry

what i heard is that you work with the config files in the crysis folder, cause not all of the very high stuff is direct x 10 exclusive its just your computer locks them call cause crysis tells it to so he teaked the config files to run very high on the effects that can on direct x 9
at this setting FPS is varying between 22-25 average ......it may look a bit on the lower side but dude people who have playeds CRYSIS knows that it runs uber smooth at 20 FPS also.....
good stuff man. My 8600Gt is running at 635/1566.... im able to run everything on high with shadows at medium and objects at low. Objects just reduces the distance which details of the objects are drawn e.g. no shadows for an objects 1km away. small compromise realli
whel you have to get a good graphic card and then you must go to options and configurate directx10. i have a geforce 8800 gts and i can run direct x10 games in my xp sp2......whell microsoft is lying about this:"directx10 is only for vista" whell its false, it is also for xp
Looks nice. I heard 8600s were unable to run this game at high. Anyways, I bet is a good GPU, I won´t buy a 400 dollars card for something that will be 100 dollars in two months. Performance must drop really bad when you are in a fight though. What are your specs? Did you try to enable AA? I´m getting a Q6600, 2GB DDR2 800mhz RAM, and a 8600 GTS 700/1050 and I play with a 1024x768. Do you think I will get a lot more performance than you do?
yah the tweak is very simple ...just go into the cfg files under CVARgroups and paste all the very high[4] values under the high or [3] section.........but if u have 8600Gt keep the depth of field value to 1 rather than 2 and keep shadows at medium and then u will get excellent performance.........and yahh the card shud be oced to play with very high settings........
i saw nothing on full high. and for anyone considering SLi FUCK IT. if you can afford two cards get one that will obliterate them both. i saw a side by side comparison in a LAN and the SLi was very dissapointing.
true..SLI sucks ... if your going to consider any multi gpu configuration than crossfire is something to go for but SLI is horrible. You get like what, 30-40% of the second card?
the "tweak" is going into the configs and setting all the high values the same as the very high values, i tried it, water looks heaps bettr and terrain is 3d rather than flat. eg tyre tracks are raised
I have a dualcore (6000+) processor, 4GB ram and an 8600 GT Twin Turbo video card. I have windows XP and have done the "tweeking" to the game. It was running on the highest settings (with the tweek). Is there anything you would recommend for better framerate?
With the Core at 700mhz / Mem at 1400mhz I get 14fps on fight, 20-40fps walkin thru. If a OC the Mems to 1600 it makes no difference, and if I do to 1800mhz I gain 2fps more. oO

are dont u understand ......i am nt playing at HIGH ......it will show high but actually the values of VERY HIGH r in effect ...........thats what the dx 10 tweak of CRYSIS in XP is all abt ...........motion blur is turned ofgf and the depth of field is kept at high rathwr than very high with shadows medium .....but still its 90% same as very high on VISTA .....if u dont belive thre r several forums discussing this ...plzz go through them ....
Na he said hes got the xp hack, which means modt of dx10 features for crysis on xp. Looks like motion blur and post processing might be off on this vid, alters image quality a fair bit.
yeah the 8800ultra's are getting around 35fps avg. the thing to do is run SLI!!! It can be really freakin' cheap if you work your way around. buy an 8600gt oc edition for around $100 then buy any 8400 series card for about $30-$45 then run them SLI. there you go, $500 8800 series playibility for less than $200.
what i known is that went you go to sli you need two identical cards (ivent they recoment the same brand), you cant put a 8600 and a 8400, you must put two 8600gt or two gts, they must be identical...
8600 + 8600 SLI (considering 8400 + 8600 is impossible) will NOT give anywhere NEAR 8800 playability... SLI is a dumb option IMO. Don't waste your money!
i cant believe it, since a lot of people is concerned about their 8800 and 2900 cards not to be able to deliver nice framerates(im talking about 40+) at high settings(not very high) at 1280 and 1024 resolutions...
so i ask u, r u a troll or is this really truth, please tell us the fps(min and avg)
maybe if u used something GOOD to record we could see the difference ...

My 8600GT 512mb also ran this game like this but don't be fooled anyone with a 8600GT YOU WILL NOT get a decent framerate throughout.
Soon as physics kick in the computer will die a slow horrible death along with your framerate.
Fact is you need SLi, and Dual/Quad core to even hope to play this in medium properly and with a consistant framerate

I cant wait to get this graphics card!

what that mean : XP with dx 10 tweak ???i wont dx10 at xp !
Latvian2727 4 years ago
what i heard is that you work with the config files in the crysis folder, cause not all of the very high stuff is direct x 10 exclusive its just your computer locks them call cause crysis tells it to so he teaked the config files to run very high on the effects that can on direct x 9

@atksith...
at this setting FPS is varying between 22-25 average ......it may look a bit on the lower side but dude people who have playeds CRYSIS knows that it runs uber smooth at 20 FPS also.....
snakemgs24 4 years ago
good stuff man. My 8600Gt is running at 635/1566.... im able to run everything on high with shadows at medium and objects at low. Objects just reduces the distance which details of the objects are drawn e.g. no shadows for an objects 1km away. small compromise realli

dx10 is a waste of gpu power. put dx9 and ur frames will skyrocket
stupidguyaabbcc 4 years ago
HAHA this is the lamest post. DC10 VS DX9? OK lets start :1) in DX10 u get more fps
2) in DX10 the graphics have a hell of a difference
3) no physics in DX9
4) DX10 = the graphics are amazing and very big difference against DX9
omglucky1 4 years ago
to "stupidguyaabbcc"
omglucky1 4 years ago
are you dumb? DX9 definitely has physics and DX10 gets you much worse frame rates... any google search for DX9 vs DX10 benchmarks will prove that...
Blitersety 4 years ago
fuck fps if u wanna play DX10 and see real graphics u need strong pc. if u cant afford then sry but DX9 sucks vs DX10
omglucky1 4 years ago
To even consider playing Crysis on high you need a nice PC.
dumuh 4 years ago
yes but u cant run dx10 ON ultra high fucker

what is the diference sooner or later microsoft will put directx 9.0L for actualization and it wil be the same with direct x10 but in xp
in4lab 4 years ago
whel you have to get a good graphic card and then you must go to options and configurate directx10. i have a geforce 8800 gts and i can run direct x10 games in my xp sp2......whell microsoft is lying about this:"directx10 is only for vista" whell its false, it is also for xp

whell?

would upgrading to 2gb ram from 1gb ram make a difference?
DJizdabest 4 years ago
Yes. 2GB of ram means you would get less lag from games and they will run A LOT smoother.

Do you think I will get a lot more performance than you do?
andresjp77arg 4 years ago
it wont be 100 dollars.
get a 8800GTS 512MB. that will do.
or two HD3870's in crossfire
Xmeagol 4 years ago
is crossfire like SLI?
Karel589 4 years ago
Crossfire scales better, but yes.
masterchief3k 4 years ago
yah the tweak is very simple ...just go into the cfg files under CVARgroups and paste all the very high[4] values under the high or [3] section.........but if u have 8600Gt keep the depth of field value to 1 rather than 2 and keep shadows at medium and then u will get excellent performance.........and yahh the card shud be oced to play with very high settings........
snakemgs24 4 years ago
i saw nothing on full high. and for anyone considering SLi FUCK IT. if you can afford two cards get one that will obliterate them both. i saw a side by side comparison in a LAN and the SLi was very dissapointing.
mmmpie 4 years ago
true..SLI sucks ... if your going to consider any multi gpu configuration than crossfire is something to go for but SLI is horrible. You get like what, 30-40% of the second card?
arthur2647 4 years ago
the "tweak" is going into the configs and setting all the high values the same as the very high values, i tried it, water looks heaps bettr and terrain is 3d rather than flat. eg tyre tracks are raised

where can i get it the "tweak" tell me man plz -_-...... Thank You so much....

I have a dualcore (6000+) processor, 4GB ram and an 8600 GT Twin Turbo video card. I have windows XP and have done the "tweeking" to the game. It was running on the highest settings (with the tweek). Is there anything you would recommend for better framerate?
utjeremy1003 4 years ago
get vista so you can run dx10
cheeks916 4 years ago
8600GT is a poor card for the price... I would recommend either 7900/7950 or just go for the 8800GT if you are looking for a budget card. :)
Seedr0 4 years ago
budget card? 8800gt is da 3rd best card on the market dumbass, 8600gt/gts are midrange cards, budget=8500gt and below

what is ur full config............

With the Core at 700mhz / Mem at 1400mhz I get 14fps on fight, 20-40fps walkin thru. If a OC the Mems to 1600 it makes no difference, and if I do to 1800mhz I gain 2fps more. oO
Idle is 11fps on fight, 15-25 walkin thru.
Idle = 540mhz / 1400
Settings on Very High!

@eclipsedragon84
are dont u understand ......i am nt playing at HIGH ......it will show high but actually the values of VERY HIGH r in effect ...........thats what the dx 10 tweak of CRYSIS in XP is all abt ...........motion blur is turned ofgf and the depth of field is kept at high rathwr than very high with shadows medium .....but still its 90% same as very high on VISTA .....if u dont belive thre r several forums discussing this ...plzz go through them ....
snakemgs24 4 years ago
oh plus DX 10 looks way better than that... urs is only on high.. ur very high is grayed out..
eclipsedragon84 4 years ago
Na he said hes got the xp hack, which means modt of dx10 features for crysis on xp. Looks like motion blur and post processing might be off on this vid, alters image quality a fair bit.
mankyblobs 4 years ago
i get about 24fps on mine with very high settings and high on shaders
eclipsedragon84 4 years ago
Just the info I was looking for, my oc'd 7900gt should do the same settings and res with a higher frame rate, yipeee :)
(700mhz gpu/850mhz mem)
mankyblobs 4 years ago
first of all i cud nt belive my eyes too when i saw ki with very high settings the game is rather playable
now with 1152*864 res the average FPS is arnd 19FPS
and for 1024 res the average FPS is arnd 21+
so u can see its uber smooth as for CRYSIS only the game runs ultra smooth even at 17+ FPS
DX 10 tweak rocks ..now even my frnds with 8800 s r playing in XP with dx 10 effects and getting performance boost ......with almost same IQ.........
snakemgs24 4 years ago
yeah the 8800ultra's are getting around 35fps avg. the thing to do is run SLI!!! It can be really freakin' cheap if you work your way around. buy an 8600gt oc edition for around $100 then buy any 8400 series card for about $30-$45 then run them SLI. there you go, $500 8800 series playibility for less than $200.
tastyriff 4 years ago
umm an 8600gt and a 8400???? How would that work out lol
stumpy0145 4 years ago
what i known is that went you go to sli you need two identical cards (ivent they recoment the same brand), you cant put a 8600 and a 8400, you must put two 8600gt or two gts, they must be identical...
wolveric0 4 years ago
8600 + 8600 SLI (considering 8400 + 8600 is impossible) will NOT give anywhere NEAR 8800 playability... SLI is a dumb option IMO. Don't waste your money!
Seedr0 4 years ago
how many fps u get?
i cant believe it, since a lot of people is concerned about their 8800 and 2900 cards not to be able to deliver nice framerates(im talking about 40+) at high settings(not very high) at 1280 and 1024 resolutions...
so i ask u, r u a troll or is this really truth, please tell us the fps(min and avg)
