I fucking love the dark tower, but this movie wont do it justice. Stephen King's books rarely translate well on the big screen (despite how good he is at writing), and hollywood wont accept roland as he is in the book. He not only kills his sidekick, who is a little kid, he kills a whole town of men women and children. plus darron aronovski should be directing this

Nice work, funny you added Clint Eastwood, I have always said he would be the best Roland if a movie was ever to be made. I also said that a movie mas utterly impossible to make of this. I would be hours long or maybe a set of stories... nice work on the trailer, lots of great memories :)

yeah, not a bad idea, Kurt Russel is a great actor. To me he doesn't fit the old west role, maybe the illustrations in book 1 have forever left me hoping for what was instilled in me; a tall and somewhat skinny Roland. This movie is nonetheless impossible to make, agreed? :)

Best DT "Trailer" I've seen. Very well done! I like all the audio excerpts from the audio books; I've listened to III, VI, and VII. I had suggested David Carradine to play Roland on another vid's comments about a month or two before he died. Kinda strange... I'd better not suggest anyone else, in case they die!

Very cool. The good trailers (like this one) make me all tingly. But may Hollywood remain UNFOUND on this one. Ill be disappointed if King allows it.... it would turn out so commercial....it couldnt turn out any other way. Roland is my favorite book character, I dont want to discuss him with people who saw a movie.

I couldnt agree more... unfortunately I heard King already released the rights to JJ Abrams? Its like the LOTR movies, great though they were, talking to people who saw the movies and didnt read the books was hard. To imagine it makes a world of difference. All we can do now is hope theres some kind of quiz at the movie entrance and if you dont know the story they send you home to read! Thanks for the comment... keep pressing the Tower.

Yea I heard that....there is just too much back story.....too many colors coming out of the prism. even more so than LOTRs in my opinion. Middle earth was just middle earth. and if they did do it right with 7 or so movies....i dont think a mass amount of folks would get into it to make it worth the cost. lol on the quiz! The place where the path ends in the clearing... or Topeka.  Yeah way more in depth in my opinion too but would there be a Dark Tower without LOTR or Childe Roland... who knows? Plus the way King writes... could anyone give you visuals like him... even with visuals? Alright heres one for ya... The last door Roland comes upon on the beach is labled "THE PUSHER" What is the pushers name?

PS im for sure not pitting the dark tower and tolkien's books against each other in terms of greatness here. no way! im just saying it has more levels to its story and may be harder to get across on film. who knows? maybe it would be great. but id prefer to pretend its all mine like im sure most people do with their favorite book. i dont want some "jonny depp" screwing up my vision of Roland. bunghole. clint eastwood is too old....its too late....only one worthy.

I agree with you guys in that the scope of the dark tower is far greater that LOTR. I mean, the darktower covers many different worlds, aswell as many different times. (Jake, eddia, susan) And I think that in order to make it without procudtion costs being the greatest ever spent on a movie, they would have to cuy out so much and change it to where it would be terrible. Heres a question........The oil patch in mejis was named after what major gas chain?
