  • Well I can say for sure that it was around 1975-76 because I was there, yeah that's me on the bass. We (The Scott Brothers) were working with Garland Green, Syl Johnson and the Chi-Lites I believe this was taken in Memphis Tennesee at the Red Rooster Show lounge. I am still active in mBilly Boomerusic and I go by the Name PoppahWillie. I have music on Black Planet and URSession. You can also find me on YouTube under Billy Boomer

  • Thank you. I wasn't sure if it was when he performed at Dootos in Compton, CA around the same year that you were talking about.

  • Does anyone know where this performance was and when?

  • About 1979 on Chicago's Southside the club was maybe High Chapparel.

  • @GerreeCee Greetings! Nice post. I'm Garfield(son of Garland Green)..i was just chatting with my mom, we were also trying to figure out the year and place of this video as well. The High Chapparel was closed down by 1979.(thats if the video is in fact 1979)..she was thinking the venue may be Motown on 63rd and Ashland. Also, the style of a shirt(ruffles down the front) were very prevalent from 1970 to 1973, which may point to that time frame. Anywho, thanks for sharing this rare footage indeed!

  • This right here is the truth...

  • i love this song. Thanks for posting the live video.

  • Another classic Gerry! Thanks for posting these. And don't stop now!

  • I'm jealous I wasn't there to dig it! I was just a baby back then. This song has always been one of my favorites... Great posting! Keep up the awesome work!
