As for the moors, well they settled in many european countries and that was hundreds and hundreds of years ago, including some parts of southern Italy, Spain and Portugal. Most settled in Portugal and Spain. Certainly no traces of moors in central and northern Italy as the Romans kept them south. "White" is a more specific term for a group of Caucasians peticularly from the western north/western parts of europe ie; the UK, holland, germany, ireland etc. Usually more fair skinned caucasians, with light eyes and hair. As for the moors, well they settled in many european countries and that was hundreds and hundreds of years ago, including some parts of southern Italy, Spain and Portugal. Most settled in Portugal and Spain. Certainly no traces of moors in central and northern Italy as the Romans kept them south. But even still, southern Italians have mostly Greek, Roman, Etruscan and Norman lineage. Do some research before you make a fool of yourself. Lots of dark Irish people I know too, does it matter??

My paternal ancestors came from Ancona province, northeast of Rome. They settled in the Mississippi Delta, where I live. The stuff you see on "The Godfather", "Jersey Shore" ,"Mob Wives" and other movies and TV shows about Italian Americans and the Mafia is totally foreign to the Italian Americans who live here. It is very sad that to see Italians of mixed heritage have hang ups about being Italian due to prejudicial experience from rednecks or who ever it may be. Unfortunately the stereotype of the Italian gangster and mafia prevails damaging the reuptation to those that have developed hang ups about the stereotypes. Then there are people that claim to be your freinds but won't allow you to express your opinions or matters related to Italian culture and make on feel bad about Italy or the Italian....

Check it out. One of the handfull of Italian style espresso bars in Australia. Pellegrinis. In Sydney, Michaelangelo's in King's Cross, but I don't know if its still there. Mr Robert De Niro makes his way to Pellegrinis in Melbourne when he visits extended family (not BS) Not a promotional pitch. But many real Italians go there, or they used to. It was once an Italian worker's cafe. Now it is a major tourist hub and many Politicians go there too.

Some of the earliest forms of printing and engraving originated from Syria. Back to Rome. Unique in more ways than one. In literature, Politics. Roman foundations whether through slavery, citizenship, partcipation in the military, or Roman outposts were operated by Latins, Celts, germanics, Franks. Even though Rome had thousands of enemies, the Roman empire employed enemies to work for them too. They were offered Roman citizenship as so too were slaves. Greeks: Yes they had an influence, but that was during the City state phase, not in the republican phase or later

Why do American Italians call ''Pasta'' maccaroni? That is odd. Pasta is the generic term for variations of the Italian staple diet. We call it Pasta in Australia, in Italy they call it Pasta too. Why Maccaroni? That is so outdated!

lmfaoooo macaroni and gravy wtf is this italian american shit lol...in toronto gravy is that brown shit you poor on turkey or chicken. In italian we say "la salsa" the sauce...my nonna (grandmother) will make for example "i fusili con una salsa rosso" fusili a type of pasta in a red tomato sauce (other ingredients incl. salt, olive oil, garlic, rosemary, other herbs if one desires) I dont know why american italians call it gravy thats some weird shit lol

Gravy is an English product-term. But really what Italians contributed to the America's and the rest of the world goes beyond food. @OSORIOO Considering most of my readings are non-fiction history, related to Roman or Italian history, it appears I am being corrected by you that has a smattering of knowledge on almost nothing. When I say that Latin literature has shaped Western thinking, as so too has the Italian language, why are you arguing on the contrary? Between, the 1500's and 1750's, Italy and the Italian language was like what America is today. A big melting pot of influences and learning. Are you jealous?

@OSORIOO Alexander the great was Macedonian, and he borrowed from the Greeks. Romans were not Greeks. Romans were a mix of Etruscans, Spartans, Celts and Greeks. Rome created itself, it may have borrowed from Greeks, but they made what they borrowed Italian-Roman. Rome was a culture of its own, besides Romans spoke Latin not Greek. @OSORIOO Wrong again, there was no civilisation before the 1500's, that is why it was called the dark ages. And Greeks had no influence what so ever on what ever you are rambling about. I repeat, between the 1500's and 1750's the world of learning, music, art, inventions politics etc centred around Italy. Not Greece. Stop insisting the contrary. The Greek influence stopped after Rome took over the Western world of Europe. And since then the Greeks have done nothing.
