I never owned a Gemini Wireless mic but i was looking at the Gemini UHF 5200M mic system. I do have a Shure pgx24/beta 58a mic system. The mic sounds alittle bassy and the mids and highs could be better.
They makes those backwards so that you would use the small receiver, the lapel looking thing on the top of the speaker keeping the big bulky receiver that needs to be plugged in next to your'e booth. Now if you use it in combination with a battery powered Carvin 10" speaker you don't need no AC. You will use the lapel receiver which runs on AA batteries and the Battery powered 10" no wires needed. You are doing it the old fashion MacGyver style hook up, there is a better and easy way to do it

Mike where did you get the cable that goes from the speaker to the body pack, i just got the gemini uf 2064 with 2 body packs off e-bay cheap.... but i need the xlr cable out to bodypack.. thanks kevin
I bought 4 Kustom KPC-15's just to play with. First thing i found out was that the front baffle is not mounted very well. With some liqued nail and caulking i was able to fix that. While i was inside i noticed that the insalation was glued very poorly and decided to fix that. I removed the insalation and replaced it with a 24"x 22" sheet of poly-foam. I also did some work on the ports by removing the screens on them. I spent $99 each for the speakers and $20 in stuff for repairs. Loud and clear!
I tried your wireless solution today at my school with the shure ULX system. It worked fantastic for my monitors because I didn't need to run cables all the way there.
I'm still trying to find a way to do wireless with passove speakers.
I've done something similar, what I did was plug the body pack into my mixer's headphone out. My system was indoors, but there were people outdoors for the beginning of the event. I plugged the receiver into a powered speaker about 50 feet outside, worked like a charm, and sounded perfect. Thanks for letting people know it can be done.
Hey MM, That's thinking out of the box! So easy but I never would've thought to but them together. I have all the parts in my trailer, I will be using a Sennheiser G3 hope it works. Great Job!!!!
hey mikey mike i gotta be honest when i first watched the vid i didn't think i'd have a use for this........boy was i wrong! awesome idea i'm going to be trying it out myself!
What we're using is a Sennheiser-EW100G2-System. We use a standard Sennheiser Receiver, sometimes in a K&H PAS-100, which is simply a battery powered speaker. As a sender we use Sennheiser SR 2020-D which was made for their tourguide-series. Before we had that, we also used the bodypack transmitters, but we had to change batteries all the time.
Of cource you can also add special antennas on both the sender and the receiver.
uh-uh, uh-uh, UH-UH, uh-uh, "..like the way it sounds."
lol thats gonna be in my head forever now
anyway, interesting vid Mike!
btw i use all Behringer gear mostly, because I'm just getting in to the "gigging often" stage of my DJ 'game' (if you will) and I don't have a job yet (im 16). Behringer will cut the cake haha
thats what i was telling you but its to distorted not to mention being uhf it will grap all kind of interference that is uhf including airports and some old scanners you need to add a rechargable battery pack and go totally wireless
i have a set of Behringer B415DSP's, and love them. They hit hard by themselves, but have found the glory of a couple subs with them. Did a head to head with the Thump and a Mackie SRM 450v2, blew the thump out of the water for clarity, and were even a little nicer sounding than the 450. Weight on them sucks though they're a bear to haul around. Otherwise nice speaker eventhough they're a little older now and i think discontinued, but am looking at another set of Behringers to replace these
Hi DJ Mikey Mike, love the video. A few years ago I used a few Sennheiser In Ear Monitors transmitters and some Sennheiser Radio mic receivers to do a job and they worked very well. It would work out more expensive because you would have to buy two systems but if you had applications for In Ear Monitors and Radio mics it would work out ok . Love the VW Bug in the videos by the way.
Nice. I use a 10 Watt FM transmitter and just regular fm receivers, work well for me. Also I have a pair of Samson Resound HD12s and a Samson SX1200 amp had them about 2 years with no trouble, Very clean sound but do lack bass probable would work better with a sub or 2. Cost me £500 for the lot, which is really good value, don't sound too bad compared to my Martin Audios which are 6 times the price!!!
@karl0dj As with any wireless setup there will be a delay however the better the quality of the equipment u use the less delay there will be generally u will be looking at 30millisecond delay which really is nothing
The gemni you can find for about 150.00, maybe not the same model, the line 6 your looking about 300.00 pssl has a dual lav for 129 but its not the same, great review and test, i would be in jail my neighbors suck. I like the gemni mainly because i would hate changing batteries, you already have to run power to the speaker jmo.. HOLLA Boogieman
@BoogiemanUSA you still need batteries at the body pack but it looks like it has a charging port so we might be able to plug the body pack in I just dont know if we will get any noist upon charging
LOL... It's funny how I had been thinking about that solution for a while, especially since one of my hand help microphone fell and does not work anymore... I have been looking for a body pack in the same frequency range for some time now on ebay... Good to see it actually works... How did you hear about this solution?
@frank0p99 I have been doing it for some time with FM but after seeing the AGI video I started looking for a UHF or a 2.4 solution and it looks like I have found a good place to start its not the bust but Im not done yet!
