If China invaded Taiwan, they'd lose their army, but not because they were defeated; they'd lose their army because the island would sink. Taiwan faces a dwindling supply line and should consider developing a nuclear weapons defense that would divert most nuclear fallout to the mainland or the Communists will definitely invade once the US economy is too weak to embargo.
