the ending of new moon, Jacob reminds edward that if he bites a human the treaty is off. Also, Edward and Jacob were about to get into a physical fight, jake turned in to a wolf already. bella stops the fight, jacob leaves, and the movie ends with edward asking bella to marry him.

you can see part of the fight if you search on youtube "edward and jacob fight over bella" it should be the first video that pops up.
