Partition was the only way to degrade Muslim power. Partition was has only divided Muslims and weakened. Power lies in Unity. The point was not only creating a nation for muslims. He wanted to save minorities from hindu oppression. His point was creating a nation that doesn´t look at who is muslim, hindu or christian.. But create peace between those ethnicies. In India it would have been very difficult for muslims, and christians to survive under hindu rulement. I think its sad that even today there is conflict and accusations are thrown about carelessly. Partition was the only way to degrade Muslim power. Partition was has only divided Muslims and weakened. Power lies in Unity. Partition of Iraq is being protested and the eg given is of India and Pakistan. We may have got 2 Muslims states but at the end lost whole south Asia. Muslims in Pak thank Allah for partition thinking it was good for muslims and Hindus thank their gods bcoz Muslims power has been weakened.Add Muslims in Ind,Pak and Bangl It would be more then enough to suppress Hindus.

There was local election in pre 1947 India. Nariman (a parsee)was leader of provincial congress party in Bombay and Syed Mehmud was prov leader in Bihar. When they won elections both were rejected as chief minsisters by Ghandhi and Nehru. QMA Jinnah was furious. The India got split because Nehru could not cope with Jinnah. Why would British listen to a minority leader. India was partitioned (Alhumdollila) becasue Nehru insisted it. He was afraid of Jinnah who was already offered primiership!!

Actually he tried very hard to reach accord with Congress. But when Ghandhi and Nehru repealed the Lucknow Pact 1918 which guarnteed proportional representation and safeguard of rights for Muslims,he was heart broken. He argued that Ghandhi was prepared to accommodate untouchables in Parliament on this bases but refused such rights for Muslims he saw through the deceit. Way to go QA M A Jinnah!!
