Dude they had TWO supersonics, two Dr. Eggman that could warp time and space. It's the coolest concept for a battle but they messed it up...it could have been such a better battle. The other ones were superb but this one...just didn't cut it.

Thanks, this helped a lot because the mechanics of this battle felt strangely unintuitive to me for some reason. Like, what was I supposed to do? Shoot the debris? Try to shoot the boss itself? Try to collect enough rings to stay alive until some undefined event happened? And I didn't know you could collect rings by boosting NEAR them. I thought you had to collect them. So that helped enormously.

Beat it first try after watching this... following ten failed previous attempts of bewilderment.

Thanks man, this helped a lot. Dude though, at the end before his giant fireball meteor shit, for the first time ever, he attacked like crazy! Like 5 rounds of Homing Missiles, 2 Fucking Lasers, and maybe a Time Stop (I don't remember for sure, but it was only one if that). I was like Wtf, Did I miscount my hits on him? And then finally, "INFERNO!!" I guess the bastard REALLY wanted me to work for my achievement, but at last, I have now 100%'d this game. It's my first 100% Achievement title too!

Sorry I don't get how you do this so well. Whenever I try to boost I don't seem to speed up at all, and when I do Sonic's handling gets absolutely terrible, like it seems I can't really move at all. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

This wasn't actually hard, but it took me many many times to finally beat it. The controls suck, and it's very hard to catch any rings. The rings are the only problem.

thnx 4 tha help video. so basically the buddy attacks don't do anything but destroy obstacles that don't hurt you anyway. and the switching is really only for dodging hard attacks. and it can b usd 4 rings 2 bcuz thier in 2D; easier to obtain

I finally beat this stupid thing and got the achievement. My only gripe is that it's hard to evade the stretched out arm/hand when you're playing as classic Sonic, so your only choice is to switch back momentarily to modern Sonic.

It's almost impossible for me to get rings as Modern Sonic. I usually go to classic Sonic to collect rings (and I noticed that they will automatically come to you if you boost through them)

Managed to get this after losing 54 lives. The last time, I dodged everything as told then I hit TE's core for the 2nd or 3rd time it was cancelled and I thought I hit some debris because I heard the sound when SS hits debris. I got mad, said fuck it and decided to finish him off then the achievement appeared. Anyone else experience a cancelled hit?

And not every song in the game loops at the end. Open Your Heart is an example, it loops after the guitar solo, pretty much like Live and Learn does.

thank you so much. but just to mention, just before you get in for the third hit, more often than not, he'll fire a homing attack right at you. I just switch demensions twice and bide time..when i got the achievement, i got lucky and smashed his core for the third time JUST after he slowed time down. Also, if he does manage to slow down time, he fires 3 successive homing shots. I guess that's the point of that. And to be annoying...ohhh so annoying. I type too much.
