Yes, you can put real fish in there. At first we were unsure on whether or not he would eat the fish, but we later found out that he doesn't bother them and they don't bother him. By the way, the fish are platies. We started out with 3, and now we have about 40 (They had babies).
(Roughly) Light-$20 Heater-$15 Water heater-$5 Waterfall-$45 Tank-$100 Tank cover-$25 Substrate-$5 Hollow fake log-$5 Aquarium sealant-$5 Plexiglass-$2 The sticks and rocks were gathered locally. The total is about $245.
He spends most of his time on land. He likes to burrow and hide a lot, so I don't see him very often. When I do (usually at night when no one has been in the room for a couple of hours) he is almost always in the water. I'll think on getting a female.
Dave's Dragons. It is an exotic reptile store in Manchester, New Hampshire. The website may not show it, but they do have red eyed crocodile skinks for sale there.
Yes getting a female is a great idea as a pair would do great in that nice set up.

That came out great. Where does he spend most of his time in the water or land?
You might as well also get a female for that big set up.

they do not need a 40 gallon tank and they don't need that much water

I know. Just thought that the 40 gal would be more spacious for both the fish and the skink.

Thinking of doing the exact same as that for mine! Does the waterfall have a filter in it?
How often do you have to clean the water completely?
Cheers.

Yes, the waterfall has a filter in it. I siphon the water every week and completely change it every couple of months.
