I love this as a tv series but the movie was ok, it lost steam for me when they crash landed & that no acting adult (Will Robinson) & that CGI Dr Smith was introduced.

If they had kept those two items out the film, I believe it would've been better.

I watched it when i was a child (7-10 years old, i was born in 1993). Now I'm 18, and i still love it!

Stop to compare 1998 film to TV series from 1965, it's useless. "Lost in space"1998 is just DIFFERENT. I adore characters, effects, lines, everything.

I just can't understand why?

Terrible Movie, This movie will be the worst piece of crap any of you will see in your life, the badness of this movie beats NeverEnding Story 3! And that was EXTREMELY shitty! @HogwartsCastle trailers are artforms unto themselves and unfortunately, a little more often than many of us would like, the people who created the trailer did a far better job than the ones who put together the final film. I submit the Clash of the Titans (remake) trailer as another great example of this.

To be honest, I haven't seen it but it looks so bad. This movie is a disgrace to Irwin Allen and the Lost in Space Franchise. What made the show really good is because it had good dialogue, no cgi, good actors, and everything. The movie is just trying to be epic with their new technology.

I pretty much agree with the consensus. Great movie when I watched it as a kid, but it seems pretty corny now. Except that one scene when Matt LeBlanc puts that future assault rifle together and blasts those spiders, that's still badass.
