  • fuck off Suzuki.

    Good on ya Canada!!

  • David Suzuki, basically he is a radical left-wing communist who figured out he could get paid by tax-payers money (CBC) and donations to promote Evolutionism, Anti-human (antipopulation, antibirth) propaganda very effectively too. And of course the 'Chicken Little' scams of Ozone Holes and Global Warming to convince people to vote in (and give power) to increasingly marxist, socialist, communist governments. He amounts to one of Canada's greatest enemies. A nefarious hateful traitor.

  • Climate change fears are an extension of the fear of death. It's also a modern day fear of God's wrath. In this case we are being so apologetic for harming the earth; meanwhile, nature is in place of God as an all encompassing force. When will people learn that death is nothing to us? Our bodies may die, but our energy lives on and returns to nothingness. For all we know, climate change is just the clashing of atoms.

  • global warming isn't a SCAM... it's the wrong term in itself.

Climate Change has occurred before, BUT NOT AT THIS RATE!

while the earth has dipped in and out of ice ages, IT HAS NEVER PROCEDED AT THIS RATE BEFORE!!!

i agree that david is kind of a moron using false authority to his advantage, but at least he is TRYING to raise awareness...

  • @lilsaint9410

    YOURE the moron.

    Youve been brainwashed, mate.

  • DAVID SUZUKI = BITCH, FRAUD, SCAMMER.

  • Hey "Dr. Doom"... a.k.a. David Suzuki,... just wondering if "The Global Warming Scam", also entitles me to purchase 3 very expensive homes in British Columbia like yourself by way of Canadian Tax Dollars.

    Oops!!! ... Wrong topic Dave?...

    Sorry Dr.Doom.

    You are indeed a Slimeball.

David Suzuki a.k.a. Dr. Doom is a fraud and a paid for government spokesman.

  • Suzuki is a tool of the Canadian Governments Propaganda Machine known as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

This Asshole is still promoting the now debunked Global Warming even after the Scandal of Global Fraud was revealed. That in itself, says so much about him.

Suzuki is a Egomaniac who can't admit he was wrong and that we were all lied to.

Al Gore is now close to being a "Billionaire" because of Carbon Trading and the lies perpetuated in the Global Warming Fraud.

  • Dr. David Suzuki owns 3 luxurious homes in British Columbia one of which is a $2,000,000.00 home located on his own privately owned island which has a private boat and ferry access. This man is a complete fraud and a hypocrite.

  • David Suzuki has zero credibility.

  • kyoto was a field trip.

  • "Dr. David Suzuki A.K.A. Dr. Doom" was bought and paid for a long time ago by the Canadian government.

He is a paid shill for special interests,... Hmmm... The Canadian government and The New World Order maybe?!!

Suzuki wants population reduction but only for the rest of us, right Suzuki?!!

  • I went in a greenhouse once ! I still remeber it ! Yes you are correct , it was hot and humid ! Never did detect much

    Co2 !

  • i like this guy , but he is no longer a scientist he is now a "Journo " Polly !

He is good and needs to get a reality check. Tell him to check Out his buddy David Bellamy. Climate change is a scam

  • Yeah, Bellamy holds it down! A real environmentalist.

CO2 led warming is a CON.

  • You posted this 6 months ago and you were right!

  • CON CON CON CON

  • lower the human population, eat only raw vegetables, don't drive, only bath when you your health requires you to do so, and do not kill animals. That is how you reduce your CO2 levels to ZERO

    GO

  • Evidently, the Kyoto protocol didnt change anything, so when it expires, in 2012, a new agreement needs to be made, that all countries, developed and developing, can participate in. However, there should be consequences if the goals are not met, because with Kyoto, I guess our suffering planet wasnt enough motivation. That's just sad.

  • Having children is the worst thing for the environment. Each child (and their children, and their children's children) will each produce more waste, both solid and gaseous than you can prevent by being green in your entire lifetime. By choosing to have at least 1 less child than you otherwise would, or not having children at all (really, this would save you a lot more money than changing lightbulbs), Reduce the global energy demand and you're solving over population as well. 2 birds, 1 stone.

  • I agree. it economically makes sense.

  • agreed

  • Fuck you fascist!

Canada is better for leaning let!

  • kyoto is about population control

  • I could never see myself ever listening to a guy like Suzuki

  • you're embarrassing

  • RealZoc, Whenever I read somebody say "Everyone knows that" I know I'm reading from an idiot. YOU polled EVERYONE? Suzuki has a point of view, fine but there are other opinions and it is by no means a "consensus".

Try thinking before you blanket statements of "fact".

  • Nope, sorry, you are wrong. The general scientific consensus is within David Suzukis' viewpoint.

  • In your words... the "general" ? do you think before you write? You are saying exactly what mikeone42 said... "there are other opinions".

  • the IPCC concensus is not the general scientific community concensus! Neither is Al Gore part of any concencus, He is not a scientist , just a scam artist !

  • an 4 th glaciers in New Zealand (my home), some are growing, some are shrinking. It's becaus theyr fed by precipitation as rain and snow. Climate change predictions are not simply "it gets hotter everywhere" some places get dryer, some wetter, some hotter, some colder. The TREND is heating nd is serious as these shifts will change what crops are suited for which places. Th real danger of it's that a fast shift cant be kept up to by animals meaning mass extinction as has hapnd b4 e.g. dinosaurs.

  • you guys who doubt by quoting a few statistics as an argument are incredibly foolish. The entire global scientific community has dedicated hundreds of careers to studying the issue, it isn't like what you say shocks them! They know everything you say, and integrate it into their complex models. Then the produce the predictions you deny with ur gut instincts about long term climatology. If the earth did cool by 0.7C last year, that will just partially mitigate a very troubling forecast.

  • complex models..haha you should see them. Infact much of eth source code and associated commente on the programs used by UEA came pout with the emails ! Typical of university programmig it stinks. There are also commenst on the input data quality. That also stinks ! "check out the devilskitchen "

  • House Gas is a serious problem and we have to be conscious about it! It's so important.

Or just do it for the next generations... if we can hope to have a future...

It is a serious problem! It's not like all the catholic things! THAT was bullshit! now it's true... And the "Eco gang", like you said, are maybe a little bit more conscious about what's happening around the world and a little bit less sellfish than other people who are just thinking about the fuckin economy!

    Think man!!!

  • Do you really think humans are'nt responsible of climate changes??? What the fuck! are you that stupid?

Everyone knows that! Just read a little bit dude! David Suzuki is an reputated evironmentalist and HE knows what he's talking about. Or just read other articles if you don't trust him...

Majotity of the economists are saying that we need to change our priorities too!

  • Everyone take a deep breath, and calm down. I've done the modifications to homes, and it's really not that hard to do - basic stuff, and the energy savings are staggering - 5X less energy, and the homes are more comfortable, and fresh air assured. Auto engine efficiency alone can be doubled quite easily with newer designs, and better streamline shapes can double that again. The 90% is efficiency; the 10% is renewable energy. And we get the hot pizza & cold beer too! win-win-win!!

  • "David Suzuki is a socialist and a liar- the people in the green religion are suckers. Global Warming bullshit, the climate always has and always will change."

    I agree.

  • "The truth is" Coming out of David S ? To funny.

Kyoto was sign while the IPCC was holding back the information that the MBH98 was a Fraud..hence Kyoto is a fraud to.

  • This whole show is bullshit. Its just a bunch of leftist communist bullshit. Fuck suzuki

  • Kyoto is a farce.

  • Man...global warming is gonna doom us all if we don't do anything about it. GO SUZUKI W00T!!!

  • global warming is not propaganda, it just means that there is an increase in emissions into the atmosphere, mostly co2, sure the earth changes naturally and always will, but this is a result of human activity, besides david suzuki has deticated his life to the preservation of natural habitats and human awareness, he's done nothing but good for the earth, wtf have you done.

  • hqlion

  • Glbal Warming is going to happen any way we are just speding up the process. Read basically this broh=chure of a book. Called Global Warming By Mark maslin great book and really opened my eyes and helped me understand

  • That doesn't strike me as a bad thing unless he starts defending the negative actions of the oil companies.

  • Its funny how they blame the conservatives for Kyoto now. They didn't sign it. the liberals did. the conservatives have done more than the liberals have. The liberals blindly signed Kyoto but did absolutely nothing for it.

  • This is ridiculous. Global warming is natural, is it? Know what else is "natural": MASS EXTINCTIONS. It happened in the past a few dozen times so I guess you won't mind if 3/4 of the world's species die off. Eco-systems are very sensitive to minute fluctuations in rainfall, temperature, biodiversity... all things that will be RADICALLY affected by climate change. But human beings think we're separate from all that boring biology...

  • Your a joke as a scientist David. So Canada should follow Russia on our scientific agenda? David, Please see Bob Carters Climate Change - is CO2 the cause? Tell me what you disagree with and why. You are are a simple minded oil, economy hater..admit it, you ARE MORE POLITICAL THAB SCIENTIFIC.

  • And Harper's position isn't purely political? It's based on what? Hard facts? Please...

And the world economy is based on an unsustainable model of endless growth and consumption, with no room for such "externalities" as human misery or environmental degradation -- it oughta be discarded and replaced with something else... before it kills us.

  • The environment came first. The economy is a subsystem of the of the environment.

  • I read about Landsea. He says that he doesn't think that it's a huge impact on frequency or power of hurricanes, b/c temp of the ocean has risen 0.6 degrees & influences hurricane by 1-2 mi.. it still shows global warming does have an impact & can escalate category 3 & 4 hurricanes to higher categories as the global temp of oceans & seas will rise b/c water retains heat more than atmosphere above it

  • It causes probs when it kills our food, in other areas incl our own. deserts are growing & don't benefit anyone.

1000's of plants are dying & animals b/c of loss of land & food b/c the world consums too much & puts toxins into the air.

Along w/CO2 emissions other gases go into the atmosphere causing global warming. Are those toxins good for our bodies?

There are fewer plants than 50-100 yrs ago, no matter that there's more CO2 when there's fewer plants to actually EAT it?

  • short of defending the information that I did spew earlier about reasons why global warming is a problem, I was giving the reasons WHY global warming is NOT beneficial, contradicting the reasons pro-global warming, ie. more farm land in the north.

yes Global warming is natural, but it is hardly natural at the rate that we're going. Also, we're using up the planets resources so quickly we won't be able to support the growing human population in another few decades..

  • I love how passionate he is about climate change

  • he's more canadian than you'll ever be.

  • if u define being canadian as being a communist douche bag. He's using the oldest trick of bashing americans to try and drum support for his cause.

He should go blow jack layton!

  • Right... David Suzuki is being so mean to the poor Americans... who are going to be just as adversely affected by the moronic inaction of their own government(s) and industry. But I guess Americans don't breathe air or drink water... What side of the 49th parallel you live on isn't going to matter a whole lot when the ecosystem stops functioning.

  • Because there are ONLY two countries that have not signed the Kyoto agreement, one of them is yours truly the United States of America. Because this discussion is held in Canada by a Canadian TV show, we ARE going to focus on what the US are doing or are NOT doing.

  • what is it going to take to get people to wake up to the fact that what suzuki has said, "we're killing this planet" is true.

  • 1 percent of our GDP to implement Kyoto! Billions of dollars, which could go to R and D, Health Care or taking care of the poor or whatever!

The goal to stop global warming if you believe that! We live in Canada Global Warming is a good thing longer growing season equals more prosperity! Look at the prosperity that occured during Mid Evil Times!

Greenland is still covered in Ice they can't farm where the Vikings did and there are no Vineyards in England so it can't be that warm yet!

  • NONSENSE

The range of prime farming temperatures is very sensitive, with the projected rate that the world is warming up, it'd be much higher than needed in 50 to 100 years.

The southern countries will be too hot & dry to grow any crops.

Sea level will rise wiping out a lot of farming land around the world that already exists.

  • Mosquitoes & other parasitic insect population is increasing. They pass around diseases that we thought were wiped out long ago.

Pine beetles are killing our forests because our winters aren't cold enough to reduce their population.

That's not getting into other topics such as increase of hurricanes, tsunamis, loss of diversity of animals, fish, and mess up the ocean currents which MANY sea creatures depend on for survival.

  • I love it how people take all examples of disaster and blame the on global warming. Correct me if I am wrong, but a tsunamis has nothing to do with global warming. They are caused by large shifts in the ocean floor that displace water. A common cause is an earthquake.

Global warming does not cause earthquakes. But if you want to go deep into conspiracy theories, nuclear bombs can cause tsunamis.

  • Laforgej, I didn't tsunamis/earthquakes, you're a bit off topic.

  • I was referring to this "...other topics such as increase of hurricanes, tsunamis, loss of diversity of animals...", I've noticed that people like to blame all natural disasters on climate change.

  • Laforgej, not all are... but there tends to be more problems in our world. Some of it is Global warming and some of it is because we are killing the planet due to clear cutting for agriculture we ARE losing biodiversity of animals and plants. Those are caused by the human hand. Who knows of the dodo would have become extinct if we didn't kill them all for game.. but you can certainly blame their speedy demise on us.

  • Nice call laforgej, Tsunamis are not caused by climate change.

Yet hurricanes are influenced by warming ocean levels as they pick up more energy from the warmer system.

There might be some side effects from climate change that increase the impact indirectly from a tsunami caused by rising sea levels.

  • Vivian Krause said " In may, I wrote to Dr. David Suzuki to ask questions and express my concerns about the apparent involvement of the David Suzuki Foundation in improving the market for Alaskan "wild" salmon. Neither Dr. Suzuki nor James Hoggan, the chairman of the board of the foundation, have answered my letter.

  • Good, fuck kyoto.

  • @FootinMouthDisease

I mostly agree with you. I am not arguing with you, but trying to pose the most obvious question of what kind of legacy and condition of the world our generations, whant to pass on to our children/grandchildren and generations to follow?

    Part 1 of n

  • Part 2 of n

Yes I agree. There needs to be a major mental paradign shift in how we utilize transportation, packaging, and recycling.

  • thank our forefathers for sending all our companies to the east... to mass produce everything. oh by the way.. list everything you own and itemize everyhing that has been made here.. you will be left with a sponge and dish detergent... worried about redistributing wealth..? you are ahead of yourself with that kid.

  • A comment for the Suzuki Bashers...calm yourselves down...he's not an alarmist, he's just tired of dealing with people like you...he's spent his entire life studying this stuff, he's getting older, and doesn't have time for the bullshit...the West has brought lots of positve changes without realizing the negative side effects...lets' act like adults and take responsibility...don't pretend like there's no problem to be addressed!

  • ..I could keep going but the point is clear ignore it all you want, global warming is a problem and killing Kyoto is not the smartest thing, if it was up to me, I would keep Kyoto and implement a new made in Canada green plan that is actually worth following get those two plans to work together and the new Canadian environmental plan sucks its an embarrassment, none of it is going to be followed by with the government we all know that being a federalist even I am embarrassed to be a Canadian

  • first of all yes we commit to 2% of the worlds pollution but we only count for .5% of the worlds pollution so right there we are a bit of over emitters the States are 5% of the worlds population creating 23% of the world pollution, and yes when looking at it that way it doesn't seem a lot for Canada but even 2% is too much already we are loosing a lot of wild life, 50 to 55 thousand species a year, very much and that's not only animals, that counts for plants and other organisms.

  • Suzuli is completly off the wall on this one. The Tories are on the right track. Killing KYOTO is the smartest thing done yet. Canada's impact is only 2 to 3% of the worlds polutants. We could only make our commitment by throwing money at the third world countries.

  • I f David Suzuki would check into some scientific inventions to replace petroleum based fuels, and try to sell them I would beleive him. He is just an alarmist for what ever reason without any alternatives except to sell his evolutionist views.

  • Suzuki is such an alarmist.

  • @CanadianNooB

And your still green. And I don't mean that in a enviromental kind of way, more like still wet behind the ears are we?

    Enjoy the weather Moron.

  • @ ss396rip

    Part1of2

They do have a replacement just do a search on YouTube for the GM's "EV1." They had 300 of them in California as a test market given to many celebrities for about a year I think it was. GM took them all back and had them destroyed.

Why? Because they were perfect. Nothing but electricity was driving them, no engine, and very few parts to replace. Like driving a high speed golf cart.

  • @ ss396rip

    Part2of2

Can you imagine what it would do to the oil and parts industry? There lays your morality. Will it be tempory unemployment for many and loss of profits to oil co., oil droping to the point of worthless? Or do we accelerate global warming because it is here wether we like it or not (check the weather station), to the point that life is in the balance as we know it on earth, especially for our children and childrens children?

  • Judging by your idea of what global warming is, it seems that you've given up on science as well...You don't believe that man-made climate change is happening right now? Wake up. Its people such as yourself that will be the first to be proven wrong..."alarmist"...bullshit.

  • I woudln't trust the kyoto treaty at all... its an excuse for the UN for an 1 world wide communist government!! plus it would be unfair for the west, epsecially U.S to pay 3rd world countries taxes.

  • So I have a question for you anti-Suzuki people. Exactly where do you get the info you posted about Suzuki's sponsorship? The foundation receives funding only from individuals and by grants from other charitable foundations -- no government grants, "except in relation to the direct funding of scientific research through the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada", and no corporate sponsorship. Certainly, there isn't any corporate presence on the website. Do tell.

  • There is a medication for your condition. You should really get on it. It will make the voices stop, really

  • Oh! so that's why the ice caps are melting! It was David Suzuki that spewed the CO2 into the air. Hmmm and all this while I thought the Alberta oil sands contributed more. Ya learn something new everyday.

  • You a right. And I also hard you mother has a dick and she fuck you sister is that right Man grown up and lean something about ENVIRONMENT

  • Much respect to David Suzuki. Who do you trust? An environmentalist or a politician? Each one teach one to raise the conciousness of stupid Canadians brainwashed by American media, values and ideals.

  • the oil sands are being developed for the US. we're blowing Kyoto for the US.

  • Those who call David's views 'fear mongering' choose to ignore the facts (science) and listen to the spins (distractions) of oil/industry lobbyests. Anything that will make you feel better about continuing to drinking your big gulps, drive your big 4x4's, etc. Status quo is the way to go. Ironically, the status quo is unsustainable and will lead to ast changes in lifestyle over the next 50 years.

  • Yea and Suzuki is just pissed 'cause he had input in creating Kyoto. It's partly his baby and he's crying about it now.

  • George is a liberal who mascarades as an impartial observer. At least the Conservatives are realistic in their approach and plan. Go Green Plan!, Go Clean Air Act!, Go Minister Ambrose!

  • David is always bang-on. Seems he can't give up just yet. Don't pass the torch just yet our friend.

  • David Suzuki continues his fearmongering pro-Kyoto nonsense. Kyoto is wet dream of bureocrats using environment as a horse to get more power. More stupid conferences, lot of talk and the results. Read about what e.g Wegmann commitee wrote about Kyoto. It doesn't have any real meaning.

I hope Canada could jump out of whole Kyoto nonsense.

  • Yes, and what provides us with oil?

There are alternatives that have existed for a century. Sweden is aiming for a practical, intelligent solution that set an example. Renewable energy is a truth that must replace the myth of oil necessity.

  • The economy is driven by air, water, land...life.

  • David Suzuki is great, I sincerely appreciate his work. I dislike the host, the CBC should replace him. "SOME WOULD THINK STEPHEN HARPER IS JUST BEING PRACTICAL BY IGNORING THE ENVIRONMENT" sounds like something from FoxNews.

  • Yeah, that guy should have stayed on Much Music, or some other fairly unintelligent programming.

  • At least Canada is Kyoto Compliant.

  • it's kyoto vs. free trade.

i like suzuki, hope he stays involved!

  • i am moving.
