My brother killed himself when he was 28 and it took me three years to realize that love is a pyramid. You have to have a base of self survival love for love and concern of mother, father, family, frineds to build on, so selfishness does not factor into the act of suicide.

Having grown up watching his dad on TV, and seeing him break down while making this eloquent, heartbreaking statement, you can only sympathize and hope that we can prevent things like this from happening to someone else. If you can only utilize harsh criticism about this suicide, then you've got a problem too : It's called a lack of compassion, and it's nothing to be proud of.

I was flipping through the channels and saw some coverage on CNN about this story; and that sick-o, Nancy Grace, was trying to place blame on friends and family for not knowing the warning signs that Andrew may have been contemplating suicide. His family was so brave; and I felt such empathy for them in the bravery that showed about speaking on what had happened to their son and how to help others who may have felt pushed to their limit. It made me wish I could reach out, hug them.

I does amaze me that anyone who never suffered can be so quick to say "get over it". That's not helping but hurting the suffering person more. It's not that simple. I think most of us suffer from depression of some form or another, and it depends on how we handle it. . Sometimes it really does get the best of someone and unfortunately death is the end result. Well, yea, and what's really bad is reading some people's insenstive comments on other videos about Andrews death calling his depression a "mental illness". They obviously have never experienced that deep of a depression themselves, or what it's like for someone to sink that low into depression that they can't take it anymore and want to end their life.
