  • Even out of character, he had the presence and personality of Superman. At 5 years old, he made me believe a mad could fly, and at the current age of 24 - he still makes me believe a man can fly.

    Requiescat in Pace, Christopher Reeve.

This movie is a masterpiece. Thank you for uploading this documentary.

  • I was so in love with him...and he could have been my dad^^

  • WHAT A NICE GUY . WHY THE HELLDID HE HAVE TO DIE

  • USA was such a great country...

  • The man with suckers to climb as a glass wall- Having things is not a valid cause of action, also Superman would have to appear as a witness to answer this question:

"Superman, can you tell me and the rest of the court, factually, what is the State?"

Lawyers, not even super-lawyers, can answer that one.

  • Superman's Alter Ego is Christopher Reeve.......8)

  • My first, my only, and the best I looked up to during my childhood.

  • It's a damn shame what happened to Christopher Reeve :(

  • @thebakerman1 I know, all because of a horse riding accident :( ....my childhood hero!!

  • is this available on any of the dvd releases?

  • @KryptonBorn1 This was on the 4-disc dvd on the Superman Collection DVD. You can buy his individually. Available on a 4-disc DVD in the 78, and its now available on blu-ray again on the Superman Collection.

  • I think a black guy should play Superman.

  • @ion010101 Nope - I like Superman as White and Blade as black!! Lets not fuck things up!!!

  • @TheSebulba1978 i agree. i've heard some blacks mention the possibility of a black James Bond.

  • @ion010101 Why? The character is white. There would be up-raw if a white man played Shaft. It just wouldn't be right. The character Shaft is black, Blade is black.

  • 1 Dislike.....hmmm I wonder if that is Lex.

  • @spacyfoil Nah , just Chuck Norris again.......he hates Superman and/or Bruce Lee videos *chuckles*

  • @spacyfoil Whoever he was, he knelt before Zod.

  • You know what I'm a heterosexual dude, but dammit Christopher Reeve was a good looking guy!

  • chris reeves is awesome! :)

  • RIP Chrsistopher Reeve!! A Superman to the end!

  • You better believe it!!!!!! He is superman!!! No one will ever take his place......I really liked him!

  • Reeve was SOOO GORGEOUS in his years as Superman.

  • 2:21 Yes!

  • Lois Lane said it best in Superman II: "You're a tough act to follow". Christopher Reeve as Superman is a tough act to follow.

  • IF only the Salkinds had left Poor Richard Donner alone..John Williams would of scored Superman 2..and NOT Ken Thorne and the London High School Band!!! LOL

  • THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE OF EVERYTHING! ONE MICHAEL JORDAN, ONE THE ROCK, ONE MICHAEL JACKSON, AND ESPECIALLY ONE CHRISTOPHER REEVE,

  • love the bomber jacket

  • THIS IS WONDERFUL!!! watching it is really making my Valentine's Day!!!

  • @teerockjelli way to spend a valentine's...

  • @Armaggoth Whats wrong with Superman?

  • how they did it easy green screen and wires easy stuff

  • Christoper Reeves will always be SUPERMAN!!!

  • @NC198600 yes

  • @NC198600 I'm sorry but Dean Cain is the real Superman. Just kidding.

  • @bigsleep32

Nothing wrong with Dean Cain. But Christopher Reeve was perfect!

  • I still miss you, Christopher.

  • best movie ever... better than the new one!

  • Reeve Superman 4ever RIP

  • Reeve was a very classical actor. There's nothing natural/method-esque about his acting. Still good though

  • RIP Susannah York

  • Never understood the fascination with comic books heroes, even though I spent most of my life drawing comics. I always liked underground comics/ Mad magazine and graphic novels much better. DC superheros always seemed too one dimensional and boring, especially Superman. However, I really liked this movie. They gave the character a complexity and depth that was absent from the comic. The new DC characters are more like anti heroes, everything that the comic Superman wasn't

  • our family was so lucky to have a book of this one, THE MAKING OF SUPERMAN, it's still with us until now, we consider it as a treasure! we all love Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.

  • @personalkoment GEORGE REEVS CHRISTOPHER REEVS SPOOKY BOTH DIES WOW

  • @maxismax100 everyone dies son....

  • Christopher Reeve is so cute. His blue eyes make me melt.

  • For years, I associated Ernie Anderson the narrator with Superman. When I was 10 years old and Superman came out, I thought that movie was the greatest thing I had ever seen.

  • That narrator was cool. He did all the intros for TV show premieres back in the day. I remember his voice on the commercials for V and The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, etc,

  • Christopher Reeve IS Superman

  • @DanZackIsrael Yes he is.

  • thanx for uploading

  • Gravity problem at 3:49 - 3:51! Superman's cape is hanging toward the building instead of hanging down toward the ground underneath him!

  • rip christopher reeve

  • This was a great video!

  • I haven't seen this since 1980/81 shown on LWT on Sunday.

  • @SonOfSpork

A correction: You show me another film and/or an actor that embellishes Superman, I'll call you a liar.

    Sorry for the double posts

  • @SonOfSpork Tom Welling. The man has Christopher's and Super's jaw and the hair is perfect. I see him as the rebirth of Superman and should reboot the movies in memory of all that came before him. imo

  • I give a lot of props to the producers and whomever chooses the actors for choosing Christopher Reeve. Up until then, he wasn't a well-known actor at the time and I believe they passed up on more famous actors in favour of him. He seems to down-to-earth and this role fit him to a tee!

  • man, ever since I first saw Superman when I was little, I've had a huge crush on Christopher Reeve *drools* lol

  • wow he was only 26 years old here!

    :-)

  • Fascinating!! Thanks my dear friend!!

  • The narrator is Ernie Anderson !!! Best known in Cleveland as Ghoulardi !!!

  • @DEXTERTEEOHIO

and to us younger folks at the original announcer on AFV and the narrator of the first two PowerPuff girls episodes!

  • It fucking sucks that Christopher had his back broken

  • Thank you for sharing. This is a rare find from the internet archive. Once again, thanks for posting. Thank you. - behind vfx

  • I remember seeing this on tv back in the late 70's/early 80's. It was on ABC (channel 7 here in NYC). That would explain the voice of the narrator, a VERY familiar voice to anyone watching ABC back in those days. This was shown either after the theatrical release of the movie, or the ABC television premiere a few years later. It is great to see this again!

  • Is there a part 3? =O

  • those are the greatest movie sets in movie history I think

  • When is the making of from??

  • just hope he would be still alive and play as superman's father in superman returns

  • @iammt00 if c. reeve was alive & healthy i'm sure he'll be a better actor or a politician. he was asked to run for congress.****

  • Could he BE any nicer? Sweet guy. Tragic what happened.

  • Christopher Reeve always IS best Superman

  • THIS VIDEO IS WONDERFUL

  • I LOVE CHRISTOPHER REEVE SO SO SO MUSH

  • Great movie and unforgettable Christopher Reeve! Excellent soundtrack!!

  • Is the narrator Ernie Anderson?

I just love this movie! When Reeve died, cartoonists drew him in his superman suit flying out of his wheelchair into heaven.

I recently watched Jackie Cooper in The Champ 1931....amazing talent!

  • Thank you for this great vid! The Man of Steel lives!!
