  • I remember being at a 4th of July fireworks display back in the 90s and some guy was blasting this song out of his car. LOL! Still like this song tho.

  • 8 people accidentally miss-clicked the like button.

  • Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal are both hot!!!

  • Awesome voice, iconic even, along with the likes of Paul Carrack etc..

  • You can see how real was the friendship between Billy and the great, late, Hynes.

  • Does it get any sexier than this?!

  • Some singer he is. Love his stuff.

  • gosh I wish today's world would be a lot like the way it was back in the 80s, people then seemed happy and joyful unlike today where people are lacking love, respect and appreciation towards others and people seem very angry and depressed in this day and age.

  • i am bored of the song in the first 30 seconds

  • @louisthegreat7 No offense, but i think u must be from the new generation.

  • My favourite part of Running Scared is when this track comes on when the boys are in Key West!

  • i always thought he was black damn what a voice for a white brother hehe ;)

  • @kreollicious white people have good voices too.

  • @pacelect Yeah, but very few come close 2 sounding like blacks. This guy is special. No doubt.

  • @kdolo100 Like Rick Astley.

  • Brilliant song, with a top-class arrangement and production.

  • From "Running Scared" (Billy Crystal and the late Gregory Hines)

  • In 2000 years a post apocalyptic/r&b band will cover this and hit the number one spot. Michael McDonald is a legend men

  • May your soul RIP, Gregory Hines.

  • I never tire of this great song, always puts me in good form.

  • while the song is great (and the movie one of my all time favorites, and a star maker), it does miss the dialogue of the movie that made it work. Shows lots of action (like a good trailer, or Miami vice video should) but it does miss something.

  • It amazes me how many of Michaels Songs were the soundtrack of my Childhood... Its only now that I'm in my thirties I realise who sang the songs :)

  • Magical Musical Memories Yeah!

  • vai ser lindo assim no inferno!

  • Dang.... i can remember this movie as a kid. The song makes the memory stick even more. Love it! R.I.P Gregory Hines......

  • This is one sweet video.

  • I just touched my taint and I liked it better than this video.

  • 13 years old...then....... I was privledged to hear this then and I'M STILL THAT 13 year old kid everytime i hear this.

  • The first time I heard this, it was like 2002 and I was 6. I think I learned all of the 80's hits just by going to the store as a kid! This brings back really Good times...

  • This is when our lives didnt feel so controlled and freedom was as real as walking outside and deciding what you wanted to do next. NOW?...The media telling you that this recession is never going to be over because all of our fathers taught their children that in order to get ahead in life you have to work your life away, GEE THANKS DAD for making this generation a SLAVE to Corporate America where Christmas is just another day of the month and you HAVE TO WORK ON CHRISTMAS! Thumbs up for truth!

  • Music then and music now is like two different worlds, back then top musicians/songwriters and performers ruled the airwaves, these days it's Planet Garbagearth & The Amateurs.

  • man the 80's sucked - proof is that billy crytal was a superstar then, case closed

  • I totally want to party in Key West with these dudes.

  • I just love looking into them ocean blue eyes:)

  • It's funny that in hindsight the music in the 80's wasn't that bad afterall...I hated it at the time but next to music in the 21st century, this is really good (never thought I'd ever say that about this song or that decade)

  • Like most of MM's tracks he smokes this thing.

  • i can reminisce 80's w/ this..

  • Ohhhh the most beautiful memories....smalltown UK guy visiting LA for the 1st time & biking to my job on the Wilshire bolulevard sidewalk as a box boy from Westwood to Westward Ho in Brentwood. Sweet Freedom blasting out on my headset & taking in the So Cal life....I wish they all could be Califirnia girls lol :)))))

  • Hearing this song is like a TimeWarp to me back to the 80's; great music was composed and great feeling to it also; not like nowadays unfortunately :-(

  • I love this song!!

  • classic, its kinda weird to see people in their 20s appreciate this song as us older ones do.Anyway I love this song it brings back so many memories times have changed so much,( sigh ) its nice to get this little slice of the past every now and then

  • THIS SONG STILL GIVES ME HOPE

  • ..........except for the S&M chick, of course.

  • This is a very nice song, the chords are really tasty and jazzy. .....I see the way people dressed in the eighties, and it makes me long for it. People looked...uh, normal.

  • Best Song Ever Made

  • I miss the eighties even though I'm 4

  • @rodolphesimon ROFL

  • this song gives you hope

  • All time classic, they really do not make them like this any more

Maybe one for Josh Krajcik to sing on the X-Factor, he's got the voice for it and reminds me of Michael McDonald.

    The film was Running Scared

  • any 1 know the film on the video

  • Yeah... definitely an 80s fan forever.

  • so smooth :)) thank you yacht rock

  • great song, shitty movie

  • buen temaaaa

  • safri duo sings with equal

  • The end was a little awkward.

  • the eighties is no doubt one of the best decades America seen man ,I mean I was born in 77 and when I take long road trips the 80's music just what I have to listen to!!!

  • Fab tune though

  • I was 17 and did a runner from my date

  • I was 10 yrs old when i heard this & have been a fan ever since.I'm a black man & this mans music just cant be touched by the ills of race, his music was played in our house,in our nieghborhood along with every other soul singer.Either with Doobie Bros. or not, when u got SOUL it just comes out.Which is Y after all this time he hasn't lost it at all!...OH & RUNNIN SCARED is 1 of my fav buddy cop films LOL,GREGORY & BILLY WERE GREAT:)

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • god i love this song goose bumps all over

  • As near perfect as a tune could possibly get. A timeless classic sung with such great passion and feeling and a wonderful haunting melody that leaves you in magical place. The Maccsters voice is just a gift from the Lord Almighty himself.

  • Matt Groening before the Simpsons.

  • Michael McDonald at his sexiest! Those gorgeous blue eyes, long grey hair, dark beard, and Hawaiian shirt- such a luscious combination! I'd love to go back to 1986 and be on an island with that hot guy!!!

  • @harrietcow

I'm all so a hot guy!!!!

  • i miss you :D !!!

  • !!!(",)!!!

  • bravo !! son parfait !!

  • bravo !! son parfait !!

  • This video just nails what the eighties were like. Youngsters harp on saying "yeah yeah yeah what ever old timer". Well how come eighties tunes are still pumping out daily on radio stations? Answer that one you little shits!

  • @lordofthemanor67 You are so right about the 80s, the music was just brillaint with many, many fntastic bands and singers. Your last comment as well thats what exactly they are little S*** and spoilt ones at that who stamp there feet when they can't get what they want.

Great Music and that is what Youtuube is all about.

  • @mrhomerbojangles Yeah you're right, I am not THAT old, I'm in my mid 20s and I cannot believe the attitude of kids today they think can be rude to anyone regardless of who they are. It sickens me when I grew up my friends and I always respected people older than us. I am a 70s music lover, some 80s I like too but I don't like today's music,. it is like the generation. Spoilt, shallow and rude.

  • @lordofthemanor67 Or tell them how we hear so many '80s licks sampled on today's records - that should stump 'em!

  • @lordofthemanor67 because the old timers are the ones that pay the fees and bills to be on the radio. Duh.

  • @nintendomasterjake What fucking planet did you fall from?

  • @lordofthemanor67 I wasn't born until 1987, but i LOVE 80's music. I'm sad that I didn't get to live the 80's. Today's music cannot compare to 80's music!

  • @lordofthemanor67 amen to that...

  • I can't get enough of this song lol!!!

  • I'd always heard this song on the radio but never actually knew who'd sung it. I always thought he was black.

  • @bunclip ME TOO!!!!!!!!

  • A Rod Temperton composition this is from of one my favorite movies Running Sacred

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best song ever made.

  • I miss the eighties even though I was a gradeschooler. People knew how to have fun and weren't up tight like now. People today are always stressed and checking their credit score and updating their status on their Iphone every five minutes, and waiting for coporations to tell them what's cool to listen to.

  • @benchaffleck I agree. The eighties was the best.

  • Platinum yacht rock!

  • I miss the playfulness of the 80's....everyone was all about letting loose and having a good time, no matter where they were:)

  • shit yeah!

  • Epic Beard..

  • 5 people never tried Sweet Freedom.

  • love the little nod to "White Nights" and love this video!

  • great 80s duo gregory hines god bless him i miss you and billy crystal the best cop duo

  • Which film is this from?

  • @sareusepeus Running Scared was the movie...

  • @overcharm Thanks!

  • Sweet Memories, I miss the 80s

  • I would like to thank my co-worker for sending me this video. I've tried to find this to upload to my Ipod, but this does just fine for the stressful times at work. I don't know how many times I've played this since the video link was emailed to me. I never get tired of it. Great song and great movie!!! :)

  • This tune never fails to make me smile and uplifts me.

Michael McDonald...words can't express how much I LOVE THIS MAN XXXX

  • this song for some reason reminds me of 2009 when I've gotten reacquainted with a bunch of old high school buddies on Facebook and some of them rejecting me on Facebook but it did give me an attitude makeover and helped me remember the person I used to be in my younger years and it feels great to be that person again

from 2006-08 I've had a close relationship with this one girl I really liked and I became this egotistical rock star and I didn't know who I was anymore, thank God for Facebook

  • This is one of those movies where, like, the plot doesn't even matter. Plots didn't matter too much in the '80s, but look how much fun we had. :-)

  • Love this in so many quantaties that you can't even express it

  • RIP Hines. Favorite buddy cop movie of all time.

  • I totally agree Michael McD gets down on and on and yes props to Billy C and will never forget Gregory H RIP my bro always happy and can tap dance with the best of them you will be missed
