Great Video!!! By the last shot, aren't you glad, that you didn't have a big motorhome?
I like that you guys helped out,in clearing the roads. I also, see a lot of Hondas. And the Ford Mustang, chevy too. Do you still camp? It is the best time, anyone who hasen't, could imagine!! Female horse jockey in California
My beach is at Lester beach Manitoba...Ive been to grand beach...im assuming this is Grand Beach in Manitoba Canada? Anyways from the looks of it you guys got some luck on your side coulda been hurt all you had was your little car to hide in ;p Nice video
Id go with tornado, Note the different fall angles of the trees in several places in the footage indicating rotating winds not straight line microburst winds.
Could have also been the gust front on a derecho or a bow echo as the wind appears to have hit before the heaviest rain and there appears to be a shelf cloud at 5:01 if you turn the brightness of your screen down or tilt your monitor. Also, despite what the person said in the car, a vehicle will NOT supply sufficient shelter in a tornado.
this was most likely not a tornado becuase the wind carries on for some time, it was probably a downburst which is a mass of dry air being pulled up unusually high into a thunderstorm to the point where it reaches hail or rain and is cooled rapidly. the cold air is much more dense than warm and so it begins to fall rather rapidly. once it hits the ground it radiates outword much like the shockwave created by an atomic bomb without the fire.
Wow, now that was camping. I forgot about that experience, until I saw this video. That was quit the weekend. Thanks again Magnum for having your camera with us. It brought back some great memories!!
