i fucking adore this movie. i've watched it since i was a little girl and am now 21. i also own it on dvd and it never gets old!! classic, classic, classic feel good movie for days you feel blah. plus moondoggy is fine as hell ;)

LOL... she was NOT a tomboy. she was 100% confident, pretty, strong feminine =) tomboys are masculine and often look it. Think Katharine Hepburn or Rosie O'Donnell. Not cute little sweet blonde girls in pretty dresses.

If you think that this is good, please go watch "Riding Giants" a 2004 film that truly shows surfing for what it is, not this pop-bullshit. Don't negatively comment until you've seen that movie, then I doubt that you'll comment negatively you'll likely thank me for saving you from thinking this shit is good. If you think this is a better surfing movie than Riding Giants, then there is no hope left for humanity.

I agree about Miley for Gidget's character, they dont really need another singer because only Moondoggie sings. Zac was very good in the Hairspray remake, but I am less enthsiastic about this remake. I wonder if any entertainment industry, besides music at times, has originality anymore. I dont think that it will be recieved the same way it was when it was first released maybe that's why they picked miley to get people to see it. I know my disney obsessed friends are going to go see it now.
