Oooh, that sounded beautiful. I'm currently developing my own language. At first it was for a book idea, which I abandoned, so now I do it for fun. I created an alphabet for it and have a rough draft for the number system. I haven't tried my hand at speaking it yet, but here's a bit of it in text if you're interested:
Ri namiyr Surk daleinan. Balath' ri penaz rirk daleinan daltih'tusk nastarm.
Um, well I don't have a SECRET language per se, but I am in the process of making one(and then later, 2 more) for a story I'm working out in my head. I tried to suggest you about implementing the proto-celtic grammar. But unfortunately that's not well-known. But it shouldn't be very different from the proto-indo-european grammar. But if you really want to be innovative (not really in linguistic sense), you can try to implement the ergative-absolutive like found in Sumerian instead of the nominative-accusative scheme found in indo-european. ""Knowing" Words in Indo-European Languages, Note" provides a brief discourse on the two.
@shaabangles I once heard a woman on the train having a deep and meaningful conversation with her boyfriend on her phone in Welsh. I waited until it was my stop, stood up and said to her in Welsh, "Would you like my seat?"
There are a number of secret languages spoken by various groups of "Travelers" (also called Tinkers) in Ireland, Scotland, Norway and elsewhere. Look up Shelta in Wikipedia and follow related links. The Lord's Prayer in Shelta is particularly funny.
This is more a cipher than a language, no? Regardless, though, it's quite a thing you've done. I can't say I've ever gone through the sustained effort it would take to create my own form of communication and then instruct another in its use. When I wish to communicate with others without being overheard, I just use a dead language--it's much easier, and comes with a veneer of culture.
"Osaik adut. He'ce'lut os." = "I am fine. Thank you."
My language is a bit of a cipher language with it's own tricks and turns to help throw off translators. For instance, you and I are not translated via cipher, but are instead their own words, Os and Osa. Some words are combined and reversed, then translated via cipher. It's fun and pretty easy if you know the cipher.

Back in high school I knew a group of girls who put together a coded language similar to yours. Same concept, different substitutions. It was a source of frustration until I convinced one of them to turn coats and explain it to me. Despite never caring to learn (and failing to achieve perfect attention during said explanation), I do remember that the key was to substitute vowels with that same vowel followed by the letter 'g' followed by the initial vowel again.
Your language, has any diference with english grammaticly speaking? If I did understand well, you replace sounds, do you not? Even the sintaxis remains the same if I get it right. Saludos!! vladimito. Santiago de Chile.
I remember a documentary once that involved sisters making there own language which cryptologysts could not make out even after extensive research. Good luck with yours though.
I remember hearing about sisters who had there own language, there was a documentary about it. I wish I could remember the name of it but it illudes me. Anyway, good luck with it :) Just stay away from Klingon ok?
=) you can roll your R, my spanish speaker soul feels so good.
When I was like 15 I also invented a secret language which was suppoused to be understood just by my best friend and me... I get way too excited about it though and made it so complex that one week later my friend said "screw this! this is more complex than spanish itself"...
That is amazing. You must elaborate on this. Slow your speech down and break down the words. Give an example on how you would change an average word to the new word. This is just incredible.
I had a brief encounter once with one of those huge and grotesque beasts. She sat right next to me on the train, and halfway through the trip, opened a bag of foul stenched crisps which she then proceeded to devour like a ventripotent hog.
My brother sat accross me and though I felt compelled to comment on her bad manners, I just couldn't since I would most definitely be overheard.
All I could do was to watch in horror as tiny shreds of crisps were carelessly sprinkled over my new John Lobbs.

Your language, has any diference with english grammaticly speaking? If I did understand well, you replace sounds, do you not? Even the sintaxis remains the same if I get it right. Saludos!! vladimito. Santiago de Chile.
PD: sorry about my rusty english.

I've always wanted to invent one for myself but I only ended up with just a secret alphabet which I use when I write my memoirs. ;)

;) so you think my R is not nice, huh?
Come on, :( Spanish and italian are not that... rrrrwarrrr languages.
amokdelviento 2 years ago
=) you can roll your R, my spanish speaker soul feels so good.
When I was like 15 I also invented a secret language which was suppoused to be understood just by my best friend and me... I get way too excited about it though and made it so complex that one week later my friend said "screw this! this is more complex than spanish itself"...
And that's how I found I like linguistics. =p
Hugs.

Can Chnod be written, or is it a language that you can only speak?

This is awesome!
twilightfan514 3 years ago
That is amazing. You must elaborate on this. Slow your speech down and break down the words. Give an example on how you would change an average word to the new word. This is just incredible.

nope. however i do shout gargoyles instead of bollocks.
