  • I've been a huge fan for several years - looking forward to seeing him in Oct. and on Jam Cruise 10! This video floored me harder than the first time I heard "Draw the Line." I didn't know it was possible for me to love this song more than I already do! Thanks for posting this truly unique view!

  • Absolutely incredible. I am obsessed with this goshdarn amazing song.

  • I hold the phrase "The light in here ain't goin' no where no way" close to my soul.

So grateful for this song today, my birthday...

  • truer than anything

  • This is EXCELLENT! Puts a big smile on one's face! =)

  • Well done.

  • Simply fantastic songwriting. A wonderful piece that speaks directly to the human soul, from a very human soul. Mr. Montbleau has honed his craft into a fine instrument which he deftly uses to convey his heart, and he does so with a clarity that brings tears to the eyes. Congratulations, Sir.

  • I love this so much.

  • "I may not be smilin every second, but i'm learnin somethin excitin every day!" what can i say other than.... 'Yes'.

  • Ryan is not only an incredible artist, he is the nicest guy I've ever met. Honestly, you'd think that a well known guy like him would be arrogant. He isn't at all, took time to sign a little piece of paper for me and took a picture with me and my friend. His Buffalo show was great yesterday. Thanks a bundle!

  • so good.

  • Nice to see Ryan has the same effect on others. Just love listening to the CD I bought at his concert. I, too, am afraid I'm going to wear it out!! haha

  • i want to see a duet with Shawm Mullins for some reason.

  • My oldest son took me to a Ryan Montbleau/Martin Sexton concert for part of my Mother's Day gift. I had heard Martin Sexton many times on my Sirius radio, but had never heard of Ryan. I left the concert a bigger Martin Sexton fan.........BUT an even BIGGER Ryan Montbleau fan!! If I weren't so old, I become a groupie for sure! haha This young man has one of the most beautiful and interesting voices. Plus his stage presence is wonderful.

  • My chilhood best friend! So dam talented! Proud to call him my childhood best friend!

  • This man is awesome, he is in recovery. So, not all musicians get drunk/high! Love this song:)))

  • This guy is FUCKING AMAZING

  • Now this is REAL music! Love this song.

  • saw these guys open for and play with Martin Sexton this past Sunday in Syracuse...bought one of their CD's AT the concert (I'm wearing it out), met some friends of theirs at the concert...Ryan and his band were outside before the concert and stopped and talked to several people in the line. I'm a fan of such talent out of such genuine guys...hope they stay this way, and it looks like Martin is playing "dad" to them, so I'm sure they are in good hands.

  • You have a new fan!! I'm heading to Atlanta for a rare chance to see Martin Sexton down south on April 30. Saw you on the bill with him and decided to check you out. I can't wait to see you both.

  • your aamzing! i'''m 32 married and suuny. i love it!!!!

  • Wow, what a talent! I mean really, the lyrics, the guitar playing, style is mezmorizing and rhythmic. Your music really just makes me happy and think about the world. I'm glad he is finally making some stops in the midwest this year. I will be there!

  • goin to toads place in New Haven, CT to check him out. i'm kinda lookin forward to it now that i have seen some of these you tube vids.

  • good show last night in Freeport ME, dude!

  • Damn, the boy can sure write a song, but I really prefer him with a band behind him. And I think this is the first time I ever saw him without a hat!

  • good sound, not many new good bands.

  • Saw you and the band so this at the High Noon in Madison. I loved it then and it's great to see you doing it in the living room...thaks for posting this.

  • heard this song on PRI today. I'm a Big Fan!!!

  • Borrows heavily, musically, rhythmically, tonally, if not lyrically, from Paul Simon's South African album, Graceland of several years ago. Here're a few of the lyrics if you need a reminder: I'm going to Graceland Graceland In Memphis Tennessee I'm going to Graceland, Poorboys and Pilgrims with families And we are going to Graceland, My traveling companion is nine years old He is the child of my first marriage, But I've reason to believe We both will be received In Graceland,
  • dude seriously ur purdy darn good

  • I love ryan he is awesome and super nice i have been talking to him through email and met him a couple times he is like amazing and amzingly nice.

  • My cousin put Patience on Friday on my iPod, and I was too lazy to change it when "Draw the Line" came on, and ever since that day I've been obsessed.

    Like, I was just astounded.

This song right here made me learn guitar, lol.

I was just really taken aback, and I'm forever going to be in my cousin's debt for something I used to be pissed about.

    (:

  • they DO tour across the country dude!!! ...and they're AMAZING!!!

  • i just saw this guy at vibes.

    and i was blown away.

i was only their for 2 bands, and i hear this guy from my tent. and i was blown away. seriously

how is this guy not touring cross country and big like he should?

  • awesome.

  • Ryan, Ive had a tough road in the past two years, and this song makes me smile. Its a tough thing to do these days....

So just know that your music inspires my heart and soul to heal :)

  • awsommeee

  • i fucking love this song so much its not human.

  • i can totally relate. it's one of my favorite songs ever and never gets old.

  • thanks for the tip! loved this song! :)

  • @jeterpunk02, but the song is sooo human. That's what makes it enjoyable; it's relatablity.

  • im going to see him at a music festival in Massachusetts my dads easter present WAYY BETTER THAN CANDY

  • beautiful!!!

  • I saw him live last night and he was awesome. Especially this song done with Emily.

  • OH MY GOD Ryan is amazing my dad plays this 4 me on the guitar and i love it but i cant go to any of the concerts that are around me cuz he only plays at bars RYAN IF U READ THIS COME 2 NEW YORK OR VERMONT AND PLAY SOMEWHERE SOMEONE UNDER AGE CAN GO PLEASE!

  • I have a mancrush on Ryan Montbleau.

  • haha ;)

  • jason rushton highly recommened the Ryan Montbleau band to me! They were just in my hometown LEPREAU at the Sun Seeker festival... back east

    population 300, can you imagine!!

  • The next time I see him live, I swear to God, I am bringing him a bouquet of flowers and I'm walking right up to him and letting him know this song, literally, this song, which came straight out of his body like beacon, a damned lighthouse supernova, helped me see past my fathers funeral. Not to mention, its a ridiculous thing to dance to live. Like fire in your veins. So simple. But aren't all the best things that way?

I would love to be old as dirt and still be dancing to his music...

  • don't worry, i'll tell him.

  • @spacecadet1812 Beautiful, heartfelt comment. :) Peace to you, and yay Ryan for creating such amazing music!

  • @spacecadet1812 "The Boat Song" helped me tremendously while dealing with the grief of my best friend's death a couple years ago.

  • white foreman from house

  • love love love him!!!!!!

  • where has he been all my life <3

  • absolutely stunning

  • Incredibile

  • He has this sad and lost quality about him every time he sings. Like it almost hurts him to do so. Look at his body language at the end. I wonder why that is.

  • Well said - I agree.

  • I've seen him live a couple of dozen times including when he was playing hole free shows in dive bars.

What you said is true but it tends to change depending on the song he is performing. One of his finer qualities and what makes him so good at what he does is the fact that his lyrics and music are most often written based on personal experience and therefore have some emotional impact on him.

When he performs happier songs his body language and demeanor change completely

  • :) Thank you for explaining, sorry i'm months late replying

  • I think I'm in love with this man.

  • Incredible

  • That Vancouver show was amazing. Ryan was incredible especially since I knew nothing about him beforehand. Martin Sexton and Ryan Montbleau is one hell of a show!!
