  • that's even more hp than my civic

  • /watch?v=iN5QYzd8AYY

  • MV F4 RR is now the most powerful bike ever. But the best literbike ever remains the GSX-R 1000

  • @Fake4Eva123 brake horsepower, it's the horse powers you put on the ground.

Hp is the horsepower directly at the engine... or it's the other way around, can't remember

  • @hejjagedu BHP, brake horsepower, at the engine.

This is RWHP, RearWheel Horsepower, usually much lower, and its still 183. Incredible, but wait till the Ducati 1199 is tested next year.

  • Hehe, the old ZX kawasakis had more power than the new ones, if I remember right.

So, this is all going to that gadget "smoothed out, cpu controlled, user friendly" stuff.

At least BMW has the passion :o

  • omg hayabusa got 200 ps xD and the turbo 350? or more? :D

  • @jigibao...my B-King has 179,38 BWheel/HP and there's...Open exhaust Bodis Q5 - K&N-filter - Powercommander-5 and X-TRE on.....secured on the Dynojet-Bank.... :)

  • lol is 193 hp

  • oh the most powerful superbike, i thing that you have forget the MTT Y2K thats the strongest superbike ever.

  • oh the most powerful superbike, ithing that you have forget the MTT Y2K thats the strongest superbike ever.

  • But it does not have the original 172 hp at the back wheel ECU, lies lies and more lies, the s1000rr does not have an affective RAM air system and cant win at WSBK.

Never trust the UK Magazines, MCN had 188hp like to see the ECU on that one.

  • @BMWRWankers I think your name implies that you are slightly biased.

  • Guys, i think you're missing the point with the desmo. It's built to be beutiful and sexy. It's not a track bike or a bike to be raced they're not chasing power. Plus the BMW doesn't have that "OMFG" effect when you twist the throttle to that intoxicating v4 rasp!

  • @Tyrano824 Hehe you chicks and your notions.

  • Comment removed

  • i've got about 14hp

  • lol and i can only ride 33bhp

  • jesus christ that exhaust is ugly

  • @Bertlhuaba get yoshi, akro on bmw it look alot better :-) i will upload my bmw s1000rr with akro and do 0 to 186 mph and clock me how many seconds lol

  • @Bertlhuaba i did 0-170 it only 12.7 seconds jeez, but use akro it will quicker! but i loves my k7 gsxr 1000!

  • Beast.id love to get my hands on one of these

  • everyone here is arguing... debating, not beleiving... but you better start beleiving... BMW is the most powerful production bike, and they are one of the most underrated bikes out there... underrated until it passes a hyabusa or ninja

  • Please don´t forget the Ram-Air input about 7hp more, at 124mph

  • @speedypt very true

  • LOL...193 hp, 180 hp....blah blah blah. 115 HP is enough to keep me happy 99% of the time....more than that is just scary in most situations.

  • @speedypt Ever riden this bike or one similar power to it? It takes you a week to get rid of the smile that gets stuck to your face!

  • how come the zx10r makes only 165hp at the wheel and 188 at the cranck..not to mention 200 with the ram air intake at full.

how the hell does the bmw put out 183 at the wheel when it makes 193 at the cranck?

so the japs lose 23hp to the wheel and the bmw loses ONLY 10?

    how the fuck is that?

are you sure you make those test right?

    are you?

would you bet your life on the accuracy of the tests?

  • @sergiukawa Now that s1000rr's have been put on dynos it's become apparent that BMW was being conservative in their horsepower numbers, just as Nissan has with the GT-R. To your comment on accuracy, dynos only tell you what a particular machine will put out that day, at that temperature, humidity, altitude etc. If you put a zx10r vs a s1000rr on the same dyno, back to back, you'd get an accurate comparison, and the sr1000rr would win.

  • @sergiukawa

cause its motha fuckin german engineering, shiiit

  • @sergiukawa Lol I guess you have a zx10 then?

  • @Sabrezx

    i wish :P

  • No chance, the new zx10r STREETBIKE gets 190bhp!! They already said the new Kawa is stronger than the old but not so strong than the s1000rr!! Fact!

  • wait for the new zx-10r! more than 200bhp they said

  • @jigibao The stock B-Kings we've tested make about 168bhp at the wheel on this very same dyno. Makes the BMW's 184bhp all the more impressive...

  • @BIKEmagazineUK i tested mine on dyno and figure is 181ps,so i dont know what is wright here? 181ps on back weel? only mode from stock was exhaust is open....original exhaust...end with power commander ignition advancer delivers 202ps on 12,000rpm....on back weel??? i gess on 14,000rpm would deliver something like 220-230ps on back weel oor more.let me remind you that bmw is HEAWY END TUNED.....weak onder 10,000rpm...

  • @BIKEmagazineUK it is because bmw is tuned till end "by fabric" and b-king stock is allready limited by standard exhausts a lot. jap can and will make more powerfull engine, but what they wanted to do is stop the power war between producers...and by the way diference between 165-180ps is not realy visible to drivers, its diference is not feelable...what winnes is waight and aerodinamycs...

  • @BIKEmagazineUK : BULLSHIT ! Hayabusa with 168 ?! LMAO !!!!! much more. You need to go Japan -_-

  • @BIKEmagazineUK The B-King's made for torque, not BHP, dude.

  • @jigibao turning more RPM alone doesnt equal more HP. you need to know what the torque is doing to see if an engine will continue to make power or fall on its face when you up the rev limiter

  • @jigibao pity it needs 300cc more to do it ,weighs more, handles worse and to top it off is ugly as sin!

  • @jigibao not 80nm but lbs*feet.....about 107nm

  • I saw the motorcycle com test an they say 170 at the wheel. Can somebody explain? Anyway the 2008 zx10r with a few mods will too pull over 170 at the wheel. peace

  • How is that possible?

  • The Desmosedici IS NOT A SERIALBIKE!!!!!!!! You can't compare those two!!!! The s1000rr is the strongest supersport bike!!!

  • it has 193hp as i know. and at a dyno of an german magazine the street version's engine has an output of 203hp at 14200rpm.

  • What a great bike! Isn't that more HP at the rear wheel than the Ducati Desmosedicci? and $62000 less money!!!!!

  • @biggerthanyourface1

no i think the Desmo has like 220+

but the Bmw is a awesome bike

  • @biggerthanyourface1 But $62000 less bike...

  • @biggerthanyourface1 no,i am afraid the ducati has 200 horse power at the rear wheel, they say that the bmw is the fastest prodution bike ever because the ducati desmodeci is not a prodution bike...

  • @Barros18004 Both bikes should be dyno'd on the same machine to be fair. I have not seen one dyno where the Desmo made 200HP at the rear wheel. Please show it to me. You may be right but I'd like to see it myself. the S1000RR as prep for SBK would be a more fair comparison then? Get the Ohlin forks for the bmw and upgrade the power to SBK RACING LEVEL & they would still have $40,000+ left over. IMO, Bottom line is it's fun to ride the Ducati, when it's running, but better to own & ride the BMW.

  • @Barros18004 please post the link where the desmo on an independent dyno shows 200 rear wheel hp?

I don't think it exists...I have to agree with cowboy that the SBK BMW S1000RR would be a more fair comparison and will have more HP at the rear wheel than the desmo. FOR A LOT LESS MONEY AND PROBLEMS. an extra $30,000 or $40,000 would be nice to have left over as well.

  • @Barros18004 Check out youtube video [Ducati Desmosedici Dyno Sweep Test } independent dyno test of Desmo...not even close to 200hp not 190hp, not 180hp, not 170hp, not even 160hp...Lots of fanboys aren't interested in facts. It's a beautiful bike but can't live up to the hype.

  • BMW had issues with the electronics in SBK...traction control and fuel injection. Now with 3 bikes, two teams and the electrical gremlins figured out, SBK will have a new German winner in '10.

  • I'm not a pro rider, MrBiff2You. We'll see what BMW does this year.

  • How many SB races did it win? How many did you win?

  • How many Superbike races did it win in '09? BMW still has some work to do.

  • Um, no shit. Can't take a brand new motorcycle and really expect it to win. BMW hasn't made a motorcycle like this ever!

  • @aei1976

Being BMWs 1st year, it was a development year, they had 17 top 10 finishes, fastest lap at 2 tracks, and fastest recorded speed at another. Expect to see it win the superstock championship this year. Bike, ride and MCN all now class it as the most powerful litre class production bike!!!

  • akrapovic test: 191.3rwhp

  • i am gonna bet my dick.. that when others test this bike you will see other fig. max 170hp at the weel... anyway nicebike.. but 108 NM whats that??? fucking low torque. when you have 183,83rwhp you must have more torque then a 160rwhp jap.. thats just common sense...and bmw said 193hp engine and 115NM.. so if this is true you will get a 9hp loss,(down to the ground) and on my MOTOGP movie they say 10-15hp loss to the ground.. and remember this a motogp bike ONLY have what it must to race.

  • Why are so many people scared of this bike? its just another one to add to mix.

look at it for what it is, One mad piece of kit that will shake things up a bit. I say go for it ride one you might like it rather than demanding your bike is better try it first it cost nothing for a test ride.

  • I don't know what every one is so scared. If the traction control & abs I think it is more manageable than most liter bikes out there.

  • 220bhp rear wheel on a street bike, not possible. On a respectable dyno the beamer will be doing the low 190s true with a full akro set up

  • What people fail too see us that the exhaust itself adds 14bhp. Compliment with a remap and a filter etc and it's really not so hard. Bike will be registered in 1 week so we shall see. Also do the search I recomended for proof that's already out there

  • max torque=80

i think there bench is broken

  • 80lb/ft x 11,000 / 5252 = 168bhp

    73lb/ft x 13,200 / 5252 = 183bhp

    What's broken?

  • i had a 07 bmw k1200s and it had 174 at the wheel with akropovic exaust and k&n filtercharger. freaking fast bike. i beat a busa by 2 bike legnths i cant wait to get my hands on one of these. only 13 thousand for the worlds most powerful production bike. gives new terms to busa killer:)

  • Your not wrong. A friend has just come back from testing one in spain. his was stock, it was quicker than Super-sport R1s, it left stock jap bikes dead in their tracks, it was creeping on the desmo when it hit 4th (just) and the chap on the s1000rr lapped a best lap of 1.44.00. Neil Hodgson on his race bike lapped a 1.40.00. Now i know 4 seconds is a life time, but for an amateur racer to jump on a new bike and get that close shows how competitive the bike is. he also managed a top speed of 178.

  • what modifications cold be done to improve hp? besides aftermarket exhasut?

  • The Worlds Most powerful Production Bike Is Italian. The Vyrus 987 C3 4V Has 211 HP Stock ( Ducati V-Twin ) And Weighs 339 Lbs.

In Second Place is Yet Again another Italian. The Ducati Desmosedici RR. 197.3HP And weighs 377 Lbs.

Then 3rd Place is the BMW. 193 HP At 405 Lbs. ( Dry )

But in terms Of Value. The BMW Takes it handsdown. 13k For the 3rd most powerfull Bike in the world. The Vyrus is 80k The Desmo is around 65-70k. And the BMW? LOL 13K!

In the perfect world id have the desmo.

  • Or the $150,000 Y2K bike with a turbine engine. :)

  • But In the REAL world More likely id have the BMW. The Desmo ( In my Opinion ) Is the ultimate Motorcycle. It is Beautiful It is Fast and Powerful. And it sounds like an Angel having an Orgasm.

But the BMW Extreme Value for money is just Insanity. Im Convinced this BMW S1000RR IS THE VERY BEST. Value a Manufacturer has come out with in a Very long time..... I am going to be saving up for the BMW. It is an AMAZING machine. As for the Vyrus I think it is just Ridiculous. lol.

  • 184 hp on wheel?

  • Yes, thats at the wheel. Arrow had their standard bike producing 188+ on the wheel (just search for the PDF info on the arrow system if u want proof). If you wanna go wild, the devil exhaust system and a better air filter will let the bike punch out 220bhp at the wheel . Bye Bye mr Desmo! Finally, Madrusskj, what a stupid thing to say. Only idiots like you wont be buying this (zomg the badge !!?!). Everyone with a brain will. p.s. people in the UK will get cheaper insurance through BMW.

  • ...jesus christ my tiller has like 130hp tops lol

  • Bullcrap. From 188 to 220 in a jiffy ??? Well, who's the idiot now lol

  • No, not bull-crap. From your username you must have a suzuki? i guess you are worried that one of theses will smoke past you without even breaking sweat. Anyway, go to google and type in 'S1000RR devil exhaust 220'. you will get a forum which explains everything. research before pointing fingers please

  • I work at a BMW and Suzuki dealer, and I like both brands. Actually I would buy the S1000RR over the GSXR1000 if you really want to know.

The BMW is so well tuned bone stock, and it is still a fourstroke. It will cost alot of money to get 220 TRUE brake horsepower on that bike.

    I'm a realist, not a dumb optimist.

  • Weren't they all recalled though? I think about unsual amounts of wear on the engines. BMW bikes don't have a great reputation for reliability.

  • @fionnoc lol...its the other way around...

  • Emmm no, it's not actually. Google it.

  • @fionnoc Italian bikes have bad reputation of reliability but german bikes have a great reputation of reliability.... you see more BMWs 20-30 yrs old still riding than any other brand.

  • @blast2003 But a big part of it is how people maintain their bikes.

  • @fionnoc

:-D what?! not a great reputation for reliability? in my family we own three hondas, two triumphs and my father a bmw and it really doesn't look good (r1000gs), but its the only bike that i would call reliable. and honda parts are really much more expensive for comparison.

  • Latest MCN shows a bike producing 210 with no tuning and performance parts available from dealers. So perhaps this isnt as unrealistic s you think

  • what do you mean "and it is still a fourstroke"? How many 2-stroke 1000cc superbikes are there?

  • @matthyewclarke99 ha, this bike was developed around the 2005 GSXR ! A bmw improved gsxr......

  • @ matthyewclarke99 the full laser titanium exhaust system let's the BMW produce 13.1 bhp more! imagine hou much it wil make with that:P but 220 bhp on a street 1000cc.. no mate i'm sorry:P

  • Well it is all good for BMW !

BMW bikes can change and get better , maybe even better than japs , but one thing will remain the same it will have BMW badge on it , and that is why alot of people won't by it ! Good luck Schnellbomber !

  • @MadRusskj "But one thing will remain the same it will have BMW badge on it , and that is why alot of people won't by it"......what are you talking about? Why would people not buy a BMW? They have unmatched brand loyalty and impressive sales figures for all their automotive endeavours. That's before mentioning their reliability and technologically advanced products!

Go sit in the corner and think about what you've said......go on.....in the corner.....leave the grown ups to talk!

  • Mine is on the way! Last week of January - SWEEEET!

  • mine too

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, does this mean the RR has more power at the back wheel than any Jap bike has at the crank? Extremely impressive considering its their first crack at a super bike.

  • Impressive. It's crazy the level that liter bikes have grown over the years from even my 2004 Yamaha R1. Will there ever be "too much power"?

  • I WANT ONE NOW!!!

  • buy one

  • even if i could afford the bike, theres no way i could afford the insurance! luckily for me, by the time im old enough for the insurance to come down in price, bikes like this will be dirt cheap, or therell be stupidly powerful bikes available!
