  • It's quite hilarious to look back at the dawn of mass internet use. Bill Maher is now streamed so much whether he likes it or not he's "On the internet" .

  • Costas doesn't speak up much but when he does he cuts like a knife.

  • I wanna hear more from the opera singer

  • i can only hope the internet cost fields her job

  • Those predictions about the internet being a "great, new outlet" for newspapers hasn't turned out too well, huh?

  • costas makes a good point

  • The "Internet" will never take off. People have better things to do.

  • LOL, they thought that Internet would just be another summer fling.

And now we're remembering them by watching them on the same media platform the condemned, 15 years later!

  • Little did bill know that soon people would use the internet to masturbate and chat while watching his show on you tube.

  • Tommy is a genious

  • 8:38 to commercial is kinda how I feel bout Michael Vick

  • Wow..that Fields lady is a bitch!

  • Ahhhh...Tommy Smothers.

  • Yeah, he's great...lol

  • It seems like news papers covers it all and you actually take your time to read it.

It's almost like recieving a letter a post card or an email.....!

  • I love Bill, but this is one of the few times where I believe he's dead wrong, considering his past admittance that he couldn't (or didnt) use the internet.

  • @CaMaverick I agree with his saying that it's misused and wasteful more than it is useful, far more, as all media tend to be

  • maher is right, i was at high school in the 90s, and internet hit big time only in the late 90s.until them it was only for chatting porn and video games.

not much things you could do with a pentium, and the format form was just to filing style...

  • Studies have shown that people retain less knowledge when reading news on the internet, as opposed to reading newspapers and books, they retain more. So Maher is kind of right on this.

  • That's it, I'm going back to newspapers!

  • That woman was right -- Maher looks a little sill in retrospect being so dismissive of the internet.

  • That's the only thing she was right about, b/c she wasn't making sense on anything else.

  • Love hearing Maher poo poo the internet. Now on his show, he takes questions from internet viewers... irony?

  • he is really only saying things that are quite true.

the internet is over rated for its "educational" powers.

you tube is proof of us using it just to blow off time, my space, etc...

and wikipedia is proof of the lack of editing and fact checking.

  • I love watching these blasts from the past!

    Thanks for sharing.
