HE made the movie Fairy Tale: A True Story and if you haven't seen that film SEE IT NOW because once you see the beauty of it YOU WILL UNDERSTAND why he is the perfect man for this ghost/love story ^_^

GREAT editing! Wonderful, wonderful job. Seriously!!! The casting for this movie is SO HARD..no one seems perfect, EVER...and though the person I mainly see as Gemma is RHW I agree that she's lacking Gemma's imperfections (though, perhaps, she could get fake freckles and maybe even learn to be a bit clumsy & awkward, but IDK). This video's AMAZING though...even though it's impossible, practically, to find perfect fits for the characters. No one looks old enough, dark enough, etc. enough...

That was a beautiful, sad video. It really reminded me of the last few chapters of TSFT, when Gemma is grieving Kartik. I think Anna Friel looks good for Gemma--certainly better than Rachel Hurd-Wood, who I think looks closer to Pip than Gem.

I agree, an unknown who looks like Anna would be great for the role, pretty, but with a fire in her that sets her apart from other girls, a stubborness that shows on her face, but also a vulnerability, but without RHW's dainty-ness

Why that's BEAUTIFUL B!!! THANK YOU so much for the dedication! We have OFFICIALLY found our Gemma. Well, aside from the age thing. If I could find an actress that looks like Anna Friel but is just a little younger (kind of like how Bryy/lovewarpeace resembles Romola Garai, my perfect Fee) then I would have my Gemma. Hands down. Why, her side profile even looks like the corsetted red-head on the cover of AGATB!

your welcome:) I agree, Anna Friel is perfect and Bry looks like Fee. I think the mistake thats being made with the character videos is that all the characters, even Ann, are being portayed as being stunningly beautiful, where Pippa is the only true beauty in the book. Anna Friel is pretty but not beautiful and dainty like Rachel Hurd-Wood. I think Bry is very pretty but has Fee's "strength" which is the main feature of the character.

I agree. I used RHW in the beginning but my opinion has been changed. She's just so little! (Not that there's anything wrong with being dainy :) ) but Gemma's definately NOT. It's just not realistic to me anymore, seeing RHW flitting around in that teal baroque dress, looking barely 14. When I see people attempting to match her up to tall, dark, "hot" Indian looking men it just doesn't look right. She doesn't look old enough! And even in comtemporary shots I find her missing Gemma's "edge."

RHW appealed to me at first too and I have used her for a couple of background shots in this video but as Gemma she just doesn't work. Libba Bray even said in the book that Gemma is clumsy, tall, and freckled. While I don't want the 'Gemma's' I use in my videos too look like Anne of Green Gables I want them to look realistic to the characters. I think Romola Garai is beautiful but lacks Fee's darker and somewhat coldness that Libba writes about.

...She has a certain look of Felicity and when she's doing the archery in Daniel Deronda it fits but she doesn't look like a 16yr old boarding school student.
