I've yet to find issues with Objectivism. It's the misapplication of alleged Objectivists that irks me - but that doesn't alter the philosophy itself.
@SculptedThoughts It's an incredibly simplistic, illogical philosophy. "The correct way to live is in your own self-interest" doesn't make any sense unless you interpret "self-interest" as "anything you choose to do" (which makes literally anything anyone does count). Unless you take that all-encompassing interpretation, something as simple as parenting is bad. The idea that Great People keep society running is also laughable. Most jobs required for society to function are relatively unskilled.
@BenkaiDebussy Actually, Objectivism poses "qua man," which is much more narrow than "what you want to do," (hedonism, which I'm starting to hate a little less when you can at least accept consequences).
Without the great people, you could survive. You wouldn't excel in half of the ways which are available to you now, however. Furthermore, Objectivism in no way undermines the manual labor force. Productivity itself is beautiful, and you can be a moral individual at the bottom of the market.
Objectivism is logical I can't find anything else that is so honest besides Capitalism. True capitalism is the way to go, but we have too many people that get that and corporatism mixed up. There is a difference. We will never be a free society until people understand objectivism and captitalism and use it in their every day lives. Thanks for the video. Very refreshing to see someone else who gets it.
Try Marie Claire Chicken Pot Pie. And thank you for standing up for rational self interest. So tough to explain to people what Rand really stood for.
If I have any advice, it's that the phrase "progressive thinking" has a connotation completely contrary to your message. But I won't let that undermine the power of your message...well done.
I've received the same misguided lectures about the evils of Objectivism. And some who claim to represent the philosophy do us a disservice. Well done!
You are totally right .... especially in regards to Glenn Beck. He's a fake objectivist. I wish Ayn Rand was alive today so she could set all these people straight.

@4lfclvr67 Mr Beck is not an any kind of Objectivist!
Like Good, Objectivity is not for sale and cannot be diluted without becoming something else.
Mr Beck is but a projector, running God alone knows who else's film.
