Thanks for posting this. I was fortunate enough to be in town and at this show also. Roddie Romero and The Hub City All Stars opened, and were quite good, but Tab brought the house down.
I grew up in Orange,Texas just across the La. line. I saw Tab Benoit with Leon Medina on bass at the Bradfordville Blues Club in Tallahassee, Fl. Awesome music, club, meeting Leon and remembering old times about the clubs and groups that played "across the river". Texas Pelican Club and artists Leon had played with, BB King and, others that played at the clubs in our area. These guys don't even have to rehearse. They just play. Awesome. A must see for any blues lover.
Was this the night Amanda Shaw played too? I missed it!!! Wish the sound was clearer, I couldn't understand what he was saying (sounds like a cajun joke?)!
the history of bowling... what came first the guitar or bowling? Bowling... he sort of goes through how cave men were bowling, and then admits he's stalling to decide what song he wants to sing next, tells the crowd they never expected a history of bowling... and says it's all bullsh*t... that's Tab!
