  • The members of BTBAM are obviously immortals, because they have lifetimes of talent built up.

  • it's pure emotion, no words to describe it... try this: watch?v=R56DNLIZ520

  • i swear everything this man touches turns to gold...

  • Nice

  • Doz watercolors were tight

  • streetjunky.tumblr.com

  • lawl at the t shirt ads haha

  • Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming.

  • Douche.

  • Waretefai thinks his almighty judgment is devoid of subjectivity. As if there were only one way of looking at "technicality" or as if "tehnicality" was the only measure of good music. I wonder what btbam would think about you calling every fan of one of their albums, which I'm sure they're proud of, "faggots". If you think a band is only good when they're drowning in a pool of their own masturabatory "technicality", then you don't get what btbam's about....you just like "that one album".

  • @PASTAandMUSE Between the buried and me does not write similar songs. Go buy all their records and learn

  • @xover03 Listen to this undisputed fact. The great misdirect is more technical than colors. This cannot be argued due to technicality not being up for dispute. If you like colors better, then cool, you're a faggot, but don't walk around saying its better. The musicianship is inferior to the great misdirect. Also, tommy and the rest of the band Are greatly annoyed by fans like you. This is also fact.

  • @waretafai Okay, the great misdirect is more technical. In those years between colors and tgn. But that does not make it a better album

  • @WHTMBassist Actually you're wrong and so is the guy you're arguing with. That song was sung by chuck johnson(friend of the band and merch guy)

  • LISTEN UP all of you colors loving faggots. The great misdirect is more technical than colors. This is not disputed nor can it be. The technical aspect of music cannot be argued. That said, everything ELSE is up to taste. If you like colors more then cool, you know, you're most likely a douche bag that hates all the other albums. But don't walk around saying its better! It's less technical. End of story

  • @waretafai 0/10

  • @yubbone Don't be so quick to judge. The guy that made this normally writes extremely complex music with his band between the buried and me. This project is an expression of emotion and collection of simple songs that would not work with his main band.

  • I'm a big fan of the "JUST DON'T FUCKING GIVE UP!" concept

  • love this song! check my cover of scared in the response section and lemme know if we did it justice \m/ thanks

  • i just bought this album last night at there live show so if theyre coming to you town make sure to buy it, its only $10

  • fuck yeah! btbam

  • this guy is the singer of Between the Buried and Me

  • kinda sounds like exit music for a film by radiohead... i like it

  • I love between the buried and me. This album shows 1/5 of the reason why that band is hand down the single greatest metal band of the 21st century. Thus far at least.

  • Sorry, too standard and boring for my tastes. Also i've heard a very similar intro in a few other songs.

  • In response to people questioning who does the vocals, all vocals are indeed performed by Tommy Rogers.

The only song that had outside influence was Hamilton Anxiety Scale, and that was Jake Troth.

  • You never find such beauty like this anymore. They remind me of a modern day Led Zeppelin and Beatles with how they used beautiful lyrics and musical instrumentation, such as using orchestral instruments to accompany the song. I love how they harmonize the vocal parts too, which is what Beatles did.

Just over all beyond amazing musicians here. I am in love again.

  • @Luriena It's one person.

  • @JustinSamland Well, excuse me Mr. Politically Correct. I was just expressing my musical appreciation for this person who I thought had a nice combination of The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, but never mind my two cents.

  • @Luriena lol whaaat? I was just letting you know that it's one person because you said musican(s).. I figured you didn't know that one person did it all. Didn't mean to offend or anything, my apologies.

  • This is my favorite song of all time. Love, loliamdw / @danwindlol

  • I love this guy ♥

  • He is like my new idol....

  • this song is just so great, it takes its time and tommys clean vocals are as beautiful as always

  • the audio in this song is fucking epic!

  • dis coo :)

  • that cover art reminds me of davy jones :D

  • @staplepancakes ikr man if they could just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music it'd be great but no they have to argue bcuz of their dominator male egos that need to get the last word in but it is what it is, fucks will be fucks :)

  • cause it says keep swimming?

  • I really think this is tied into the whole Swim to the Moon/Hypersleep Dialogues story... A softer side to it all...

  • @MrJonathan107 he trying to tell us something! he says it in almost all of his new songs.. PLEASE WAKE UP! <3 you tommy =D

  • Even the Ooohhs in this song are beautiful

  • Lol what the fuck is colors ? lil wayne for life.

  • Thomas Giles is fucking amazing. ♥

  • Weird... I thought this was a Thomas Giles video but according to the comments, this is all about BTBAM.

  • I hear him sing "keep swimming" many times. Maybe to the moon? ROFL

  • I still hear alot of BTBAM, mainly because of the voice. However, i like this solo project of his. It reminds me alot of Queen, and alot of 80's music overall. KUDOS

  • I would like to hear a version without the electronic guitar.

  • ugh, this song is just wonderful. all there is to it.

  • one of my all time favorite songs.

  • I have a ton more respect for Thomas Giles than I ever had! His music is super encrypted! However, I love it so!!

  • I'm seeing a lot of BTBAM related comments... that pisses me off

  • between the buried and me amazing talented band PERIOD

  • Just wow.

  • Dammit I've heard this song somewhere before, but I'm not sure where.

  • @malakian99 ..he stole it from Jesus J:

  • @malakian99 Some parts of it sound kinda like Ice Dance from Edward Scissorhands. Maybe that's it.

  • obvious awesomeness is obvious!

  • First time I've heard this song. Loving it already.

  • This guy is a lot more "metal" than a lot of bands on Metal Blade.

  • @SodomizingChildren Well, no. See, I think he just shows such high musicianship that Metal Blade wants to promote everything he does. This is probably the most abstract thing on Metal Blade, and I dig that

  • Abstract art! C:

  • Amazing song Thomas Giles is a artist to remember!

  • beginning reminds me of FFVII

  • Thomas Giles is amazing, even more amazing live. As a Charlottian, I'm really glad that this amazing music scene that includes the likes of Giles is rising up in Charlotte.

  • this song.... wow

  • listnweing to this, im just expecting to the electric guitars and blake richardson to come in and kick ass.. cause to me, i feel this could just as well be BTBAM behind tommy

  • It's way cool that Metal Blade are backing this, great song :D

  • Does anyone know if there are similar songs like this from BTBAM or even Tommy's solo projects?

  • @PASTAandMUSE Certain sections of BTBAM songs sound a bit like this, but there's rarely anything this subtle, peaceful, and introspective in BTBAM's music for long periods of time. Pulse is Tommy's first album that really has music like this ("Giles" was NOT like this lol) This entire album is really fucking great! Mirrors, Shevanel Take 2, and sections from Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues are all worth checking out if you like this sound, though.

  • @MERTx123 i found myself also listening to viridian, which is nice, and i do like mirrors now too! thanks for the suggestions as i am a new BTBAM fan!

  • @MERTx123 I don't think tommy does the singing in shevanel take 2, pretty sure it's paul.

but i also have a suggestion to that other guy, swim to the moon's chorus are like this especially the 2nd last one but don't be one of those lameos that just skips to the clean singing parts in a btbam song

  • @theplaguewalks Paul didn't sing Shevanel take 2, Tommy did.

  • @WHTMBassist You're dumb or deaf..It's for SURE not tommy. It might be one of the old members but it sounds like Paul.

  • @theplaguewalks I've seen interviews that states Tommy does all the vocals in the band from the start atleast in recordings, Mark used to do all the clean vocals live...

  • @theplaguewalks Tommy does the vocals...

  • @PASTAandMUSE

I would just recommend listening to "The Great Misdirect". It has a lot of brutal parts, but trust me, you'll get used to it and like all of it!

  • @Mordain607 just bought The Great MIsdirect and Colors,i dig both of em a lot! good stuff!

  • @PASTAandMUSE Buy Alaska and the Silent Circus....

  • @Mordain607 The Great Misdirect<3

  • @Mordain607 Colors is way better.

  • @xover03

That seems to be a popular opinion, but I really don't understand it. I mean, Colors is good, but The Great Misdirect is a masterpiece!

  • @Mordain607 The fan base for BTBAM has all accepted the fact that colors was the best album ever created by man and can never be topped by any band, even BTBAM themselves. dont get me wrong, everything they write i wet myself over but colors was the most inspirational and most blissful album to ever be heard by my ears. but its still all good.

  • @dawnedeclipse

Ehh, to be honest, I have heard other people say TGM is better. But yeah, Colors is in general liked more. That doesn't automatically mean it's better though and it's not as if anyone can conclusively say which is better.

The Great Misdirect's songs were more varied and interesting. Colors' songs seem to bleed into each other sometimes and it just seems like it has more boring sections to me than the Great Misdirect.

  • @Mordain607 The songs on Colors were supposed to "bleed into each other" it is 1 giant long track basically broken down into sections.

  • @dawnedeclipse Thank you. Mordain607 probably didn't even listen to Colors before The Great Misdirect came out. It had to be his first taste of BTBAM if he says its better then Colors.

  • @Mordain607 The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP is better then The Great Misdirect. BTBAM out did themselves with Colors. I saw them on their 3rd stop on tour after Colors came out, they played it straight through, most amazing show I have ever been to.

  • @xover03

Look man, you're definitely not going to convince me by just saying "nuh uh, Colors is bettter!" and you're probably not going to convince me at all, because I've listened to both and think TGM is better.

  • @Mordain607 opinions are like penises, we all have one and like it, but you dont have to go show it to other people cause they might not appreciate it as much.

  • @dawnedeclipse

Haha, that's a fucking great comparision. That means girls have no right to have an opinion? Brilliant!

On-topic though, I rate TGM higher than Colors, I love the variation in the tracks. But I know what you mean with the blend in Colors, but the album itself is more "grind" than TGM in my opinion (grind for BTBAM is still variation compared to other bands out there).

  • @Danelawz

Oh and, this is by the way one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. These wonderful musicians fill my ordinary boring life with things that are beyond beautiful, beyond originallity, beyond talent.

  • @Danelawz Well fucking said, i listen to this, btbam, and glass casket, and orbs almost everyday. They really have that kick. You know the bassist has a project coming up soon right? I am hopeful for that, and excited to listen to it. Cheesy and all, but these guys were life changing man.

  • @Danelawz i call bullshit.

  • Songs like this proves that even the most brutal metal gods...have feelings and the need to express them.

  • I'm so happy BTBAM and Thomas Giles are with Metal Blade Records. They are great and the quality of the new EP and CD is fantastic.

  • Did someone actually say he should have switched labels just because he isn't doing metal?

    What the hell.

  • All you people arguing about the label and genre and all that crap: who cares what you think, your opinion does not matter and you have nothing to prove.

This music is awesome, His appearance on Devin Townsend's next album should be awesome!!

  • @kouler it's people like you that make youtube suck balls. if other peoples' opinions don't matter why should yours? this comment is so retarded and ironic that i almost don't believe i just read it. you stating that other peoples' opinions don't matter is an opinion itself, meaning that you just stated nothing you said matters. you're a fool.

  • @666metalsucks666 I should have been more clear, I was referring to the arguments on this page over this non-metal music being on a metal record label, not the actual music itself. Objectively this is irrelevant to all of us listeners, the label is just a business. Furthermore, I never implied my opinion of this music mattered any more than anyone else's, but that aside there's nothing wrong with expressing opinion over the content of the music itself, but why do so about the business behind it?

  • Loz8900:

STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE!

    HURR DURR DERPA DERPA HERP.

I seriously can't believe this is still going on, you guys should just ignore him.

  • I -just- realized that it's hypoxia and not hypnoxia.

    fml.

  • Keep moving! Keep swimming! Keep Breathing!

  • I met tommy after a show. Totally pointed him out by the badass vein on the side of his head :P

  • sweet it sounds like it'll be alot of basically just the clean parts of btbam. i can dig it

  • That's the worst 14 dislikes I've come across on youtube. I can only theorize, that Helen Keller came across this video 14 times, and hates metalblade records?

  • he should make dubstep! it would be the only good dubstep.

  • I'm 1 minute in and I LOVE it.

  • stop arguing and appreciate the music

  • oh my fucking shit

i love tommy mother fucking rogers

    so hard

  • ahhh shit wtf tommy you're the best :( i seriously love this song sooo fucking much i might cry... you also make me feel little as a fellow musician but give me something amazing to aim for musically

  • truly a great mind, incredibly talented.

  • Great song... arguing on vids is fucking gay. I'm so tired of seeing you fucks, being fucks. Stop fighting. :)

  • @staplepancakes you fucks

  • Go to DMC , Go to DMC... ... ..........

  • just stop with the negative comments. when hes not on btbam hes working on thomas giles so hes making more of a musical contribution to the world than any of the nay sayers out there i love this song btw

  • Tommy Rogers you talented fuck! BTBAM is my favorite band, I had no idea you were doing a solo project. Totally my inspiration in life and music, for someone to be apart of something as beautifully brutal as BTBAM and then also write music like this is awesome. Keep up the good work!

  • are u fuckin serious... this is amazing!!! tommy rogers is a bad muthafucka

  • I duntz no how're 2 read ar right

  • hay guise i dont no how 2 read

  • This song gave me chills when i listened to it. Epic.

  • Intro sounded a bit like one Summoning song... cant recall which one, I´ll do my research :P

  • 2:55

  • @YingYangCrunk So it's misleading. Metal Blade is all about METAL music, not this junk.

  • @Loz8900 based on a lot of the comments i've read, this is a pleasant surprise considering all the junk metal this label has been releasing lately. you know this guy's the lead singer of BTBAM right?

  • @9guitarkid4 Yes, but none of this still changes the fact that this isn't REMOTELY metal. The only comparable thing is the fact that the singer is in another band. THIS isn't metal.

  • @Loz8900 This is music. Metal is music. Relax man. Evolve a bit.

  • @EvilSmurf76 You are STILL not getting it. THIS IS METAL BLADE. It's supposed to be all about METAL, not this weird stuff. THAT'S what I'm talking about.

  • @Loz8900 Maybe you should realize that some labels sign good music. Did you know that Metal Blade used to have the Goo Goo Dolls on it? Maybe if you have a problem you should take it up with the record label. Bitch.

  • @xmywifeisawhalex Here we go again with ANOTHER dumbass. READ WHAT I'VE SAID BEFORE YOU MAKE A DUMBASS REMARK. Now go away. Your fat bitch of a wife is calling you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Loz8900 You're cute when you're angry.

  • @xmywifeisawhalex thank you

  • @Loz8900 Who the fuck cares, other than you? Doesn't discredit the music, just discredits the label (I guess). Instead of focusing on the label, focus on the music for what it is.

  • @deadpisser88 Yet another guy who can't read. Go the fuck away.

  • @Loz8900 ???

I can read just fine, thank you very much. Your argument is that this album, which has ittle to zero, no metal sound, was released on a metal music label (Metal Blade), saying it is misleading (the only good point you have, mind you), and then subjectively calling the album "junk" because it's not metal. I have you down pat.

So I'll say it again, because apparently (and ironically) you can't read: WHO THE FUCK CARES, OTHER THAN YOU?

  • @deadpisser88 There is something that you're taking out of context, AKA not reading properly. "calling the album "junk" because it's not metal." Please point at where I said that it's junk because it's not metal. " Metal Blade is all about METAL music, not this junk." is what I said. I like plenty of other music types outside of metal, so try to come up with something else next time.

Lmao OBVIOUSLY you do otherwise we wouldn't be having this convo, eh?

  • @Loz8900 Bullshit. You might like other music (*smirk*), but you still labeled this "junk", after stating that "Metal Blade is all about METAL music". I can see your opinion. Spare me the rebuttal. It's one thing to call it "junk", it's another to complain and bitch about it because it was on a metal label.

Nice try, but I don't care about whether something that's not metal is on a metal label (what you care about), I just happen to care about your idiotic little rants which deserve critique.

  • @deadpisser88 Now you are just taking things out of context and throwing them together. You should be a reporter my man.

But all in all, my opinion struck a nerve with you, provoking you to say something. If you didn't care at all, you would have just ignored it and continued on with what you do best.

  • @deadpisser88 Agree with you 100%, just because its not a BTBAM release doesnt mean it has to be metal. If Giles wants to make a new release let him, doesn't mean he has to change his lable and whole style. Thank you for standing up to jokers who think that they know whats what because theyve listened to a few metal songs over the years. #winning

  • @Loz8900 maybe your missing a big point. this is thomas giles rogers of metal blade records band between the buried and me. this is his solo effort. metal blade is the best label for supporting all artistic output of the musicians they sign.

  • This isn't metal....

  • @Loz8900 Your right. It's better.

  • @OMGDP uh uh

  • @Loz8900

    Who gives a shit...

Metal Blade is just a label that releases albums, they choose what to release, not you.

Shut up and deal with it.

  • @PrimalDirective YET AGAIN, another dumbass who just doesn't get it....I'm through talking to your fucking retards. I'd rather speak to someone with at least a high school reading level.

  • @Loz8900

Listen here internet tough guy. I truly couldn't give two shits as to why you are mad that Metal Blade released this record. I'm more interested as to why you have to insult our intelligence.

Help me understand what I, and everyone who has contradicted you do not understand.

Why is it such a sin that MB released this wonderful album?

This isn't even mainstream music. What is your beef with it then?

  • @PrimalDirective I'm not even acting tough. You people SERIOUSLY don't know how to read. And I'm insulting your intelligence because you people CANNOT FUCKING READ WHAT I WRITE! You take everything out of context and don't even know what's going on.

Read what I wrote and you will know. Until then, I'm done with you.

  • @Loz8900

I don't think it matters whether or not this is metal.

I mean... they signed Ghost and that isn't the kind of artist they usually sign and neither is Tommy. Whatever they're reason to sign him neither you nor I know.

So lets just drop this, maybe you should contact them and ask them directly...

  • @Loz8900 Just trolling you, don't worry about it. Everyone please shut up and let me enjoy my first time listening to this amazing motherfucker and his amazing motherfucking music.

  • @Loz8900 expand your horizons buddy.

  • @Cantgrowastache Why is it that I HAVE to like this? Jesus fucking christ man. You can't tell me what I have to like and not like. Grow the fuck up and realize this world doesn't revolve around your ideals.

  • @Loz8900 umadbro?

  • Comment removed

  • @Cantgrowastache You all are. None of you idiots know how to read.

  • 2:55 gives me chills every single time.

  • I love Tommy's screams but sometimes this is exactly what I'm in the mood for

  • WOW is all i have to say..

  • Wow.. 5:06 minutes of being advertised to... and i didn't give a shit. This is good music

  • Does anyone know if Blake Richardson is drumming on this...because if this is Tommy's drumming then thats just..wow

  • @ftp76 100% Tommy.

  • @ftp76

Everything you hear on the album is Tommy!

  • wat Keep swimming.......to the moon... :O

  • Fap to this song...

  • BTBAM best prog metal band out now! Tommy's new project is amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • BTBAM FOREVER. LOVE THIS.

  • @maybejustmaybe123 not trying to be a dick but this has nothing to do with BTBAM at all...yeah he is their vocalist but im pretty sure with this album he will want to be acknowledged as the signer from btbam

  • @NYDEATHMETAL666 that makes sense
