  • thats nice man! see digitaltutors com to help you out, check out my videos, i have been working with maya for 3 years now.

  • @LeonardoGulli That site is very helpful, I mostly do mechanical modelling though so I tend to use other resources. Note the age of the vid, we must have started around the same time.

  • I don't think maya is that complicated, I've been using autodesk softimage xsi for 4 months now and modeling is quite easy. I had awesome teachers tho, maybe yours are just not that good. But keep it up I think you can become great at it. :)

  • @Nuage151 Softimage is rather simpler than Maya, in almost all respects, since it was designed for relatively basic modeling. How long have you been working with Maya? Anyway, when I wrote the blurb on the DigitalGlobe site (that I think you were referred from) I was quite new with the program. I could do this project (without the licensing work) in about 1-2 weeks now.

  • cool man!

  • Hey that was alright!!dont be so hard on yourself. how long did you take to make that?

  • This took about 2 months of off and on work. Most of the modeling took 1 month, with rendering and animation taking 2 weeks. Interestingly, most of the later shots (after 30 seconds or so) were animated and rendered in one day.
