Epis-te-mology ( pronunciation (help·info); from Greek ἐπιστήμη – epistēmē, "knowledge, science" + λόγος, "logos") or theory of knowledge is the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope (limitations) of knowledge.[1] It addresses the questions:
This is a great course by a very capable and entertaining, and yes attractive professor! Who cares how she dresses? She's appropriate and she's got her own funky style. I'd love to have her as an instructor, and perhaps as a girlfriend as well!
It's unspeakably hilarious to read the sexist fashion-related critiques left by some of the guys posting here. I mean, seriously, here's a brilliant person lucidly connecting the dots between 3 branches of human history and consciousness spanning a few thousand years of existence. It's one of the most clarifying and memorable lectures I've seen for neophytes. And you're criticizing her hat and clothing? Would you critique a male lecturer in the same way? How embarrassed I am for you! Ha ha...
That is strange, you say she knows her stuff, yet you wouldn't take
her seriously because she dresses funny? Are you living in the 1950's? She doesn't really dress that crazy. It's not like she's in a clown suit. I don't understand. Just sayin'. =)
@sonicsnout She does know her stuff, and if I were only listening to the lecture I would have absolutely no problem. But...she dresses like a barbi doll! What ever happened to being professional? Sunshades on top of her head - are you fucking kidding me? If I were her superior I would pull her aside and give her an ultimatum. If I were her student I would make fun of her behind her back.
@sonicsnout When I say I wouldn't take her seriously, I am referring to her as an authority figure. I'm not criticizing her knowledge of the subject matter. I'm criticizing her lack of the ability to dress appropriately in an academic setting.
@wwjj2255 - THANK YOU!!! I hate ambiguity too. If she was wearing a powdered wig - It would be perfectly obvious that she's an authority figure and I should respect her. Im glad male faculty are not allowed to wear business casual in academic settings.

90% of people wish they could speak this coherently. Professor Raia is very fluid not only in speech, but in subject matter as well.
I wish we had teachers this good when I was in school.
Great Job
Peace........

I can't believe the way this chick dresses to teach class. She may know her stuff, but I wouldn't take her seriously.

That says everything about you, and nothing about her.
I can't say you're an idiot, but i do think you're one.
And i don't think that because of how you dress.
And yes, you're comment was 6 months ago, so i can only hope you've matured as much too.
