Sort of, you can fire a limited amount of bullets and then you press a button and the cooler instantly does what it does and tada.....you have something almost the same to reloading. Thane looks cool by the way.

This game just looks incredible... it seems they took everything great about Mass Effect 1 and amplified it and got rid of all the negative aspects. Only question I have is... how are they gonna explain why you now reload a clip?

When it appears shepard is reloading, it's actually him ejecting a heat sink on his gun.

So instead of having to wait for your weapons to recharge, you just eject the heat sink, or reload to put it simply.

Much better than the overheat system I think, will really help the fluidity of combat going.

Ah I thought about that after I posted the comment but yeah it makes a lot more sense. The overheating was my least favorite aspect of the game. I enjoyed the fact that they didn't use magazines since it's supposed to be futuristic, I just hated how fast my weapons overheated. So kudos to them for removing it. ^^

I've been on their forums. As you recall in ME1 your weapons would overheat if you fired them continually (and then you'd have to wait for them to cool down); but you'd never run out of ammo. In ME2 the 'reload' animation you're seeing is actually Shepard replacing a heat sink not a clip. So in ME2 when your gun overheats now you pop out the heat sink and replace it to cool down the weapon. From a gameplay standpoint its basically the same as reloading; but there is an explanation for you.

1.) Will you start with your shepard / all of his or her levels / all of their equipment?

3.) From what I heard, the Reaper's are out of the picture completely and this game is about Cerberus, anyone know if thats true?

If it is true (#3) then why the fuck ever make Mass Effect 1 about the Reapers? Why engulf us into such an amazing idea only to shatter it. Why make the ending the way they did?!

1. Shep's back but stats/equipment are not.

2. The old crew is still TBA. Only tali has been officially confirmed as a full squadmate.

3. Cerberus plays a pivotal role, however they are not the focus. The new "threat" has to do with entire human colonies vanishing across the galaxy and you team up with Cerberus to investigate. The developers have stated that yes all of this ties back to the Reapers. We just don't know how yet. Hope that helps.

Far as I read (in the book's and saw on the news about Mass Effect) most of the game take's place about you fighting Cerberus or other people. Aka the Geth and Reapers are a side story now apparently (so I've heard).

Also, they stated that your Shepard would carry over, meaning you would start off at whatever level / class you ended off in Mass Effect 1.

I can see the Equipment being gone but the level? Some people purposefully leveled up for ME2, so that'll piss some peps off hah.

Your Shep does carry over, but not your level or or gear. You start off anew. What does carry over is all of the decisions you made in ME1. That's it. Though the devs claim we'll recieve some sort of bonus. Maybe double XP for the first ten levels or something....

I don't think the reapers are really taking the side lines, per se. I think that the ME and ME2 will tie together very nicely in ME3.

I don't think the Reapers are gone. Shepard "teams" up with Cerberus in ME2. Since Cerberus will stop at nothing to ensure humanity's survival and with entire human colonys disappearing..No one knows who is behind it. Could be the Collectors, maybe the reapers(unlikely).

But, no I don't think the Reapers are gone. They may not be present in ME2, but I'm willing to bet they'll be in ME3.

I'm sure there'll will be some in-your-face or covert tie-in with the Reapers in ME2. While they will not be present in this game (perhaps they will be), the theme of stopping them will still most certainly be somewhere in this game. Otherwise, one of the main themes of the series started in the first game will be lost, and the story will feel less cohesive (at least for me.) There's that lingering sense of dread I had by the end of the first game that they were still out there.

3.) I would hope that in the entire Mass Effect Series they keep the Reapers in, and have you play as Shepard. At the end of ME2 I'm hoping you have a choice to live or die / play as Shepard or someone new in ME3.
