There's a new hidden gem next to the music building....It's called a parking structure, and I can go to campus anytime and find parking....Shuttle stops right in front of it, too.
Darn it, why did I say that!? New freshmans are coming in the Fall and will fill up all those free spaces!
Theres a new parking structure. I can get to school at 11 or 12pm, and its not a problem! If there is no parking in the structure, there is parking outside!
it's like this for the first few weeks of the semester..it cools a bit after that...ill say 9-1pm are the worst times to even attempt at getting a spot...yeah even teachers excuse themselves for being late....
careful of the bikes...they sumtimes go at high speeds...they're like cars on a sidewalk, and don't even get me started on the skaeboards which they are not even suppose to ride
wow... i'll be transferring to long beach in 2010 and this just made me re-think about using my car and just get a better bike. unless the new parking lot is finished and there's gonna be more space.
well you can even take the bus, LBT doesnt charge you, just show them your ID.
I actually do that, I parke by Atherton and Bellflower, aprox a mile away, I park the car, i cross the street, wiat for any of the buses , either 91, 92, 93, 94 or the D, and in less then 5 minutes I am at CSULB! I save the parking permit ~ 125, I saved time, I dont have to walk from the Pyramid up to LA4, and I get to take the bus anytime, the earliest one comes at 6 am, the last one at CSULB comes at 11.50pm!
this is why CSU should build a 10 story underground structure. they also need to build a huge structure where the sacred "indian" burial ground is.. its such bs. We can't park because some dead people are there...give me a break! you know how many people's homes are over top of "sacred land." what bs!
imposible! 10 stories high! they could make a 7 one in the future, but it has to be then really big!
the best thing they can do is renewing the agreement with LBT so we ride for free on the buses, and we can leave our cars close from school and just catch any bus and get to school in less then 5 minutes, or simply make it harder to come to CSULB, and little by little reduce the number of students
in the first two weeks they even let you park on "grass", you know where the pyramid is? well they have like 20 or 30 cars parked on top of the grass(which by the way was already in bad conditions), and I still remember that they let students park in those little streets or roads that are by the dorms! so by doing that we ended up having aprox 500 -600 more parking spaces, but as the semester continues many students dont show up, while others just drop classes, consequently we have more PARKING

if you are down to walk ...parking is a breeze...just park in a nearby street... smoke a blunt on the way to class, enjoy the scenery, listen to music...
I got accpeted in UCR, CSULB, and UC Merced, but I decided to go to CSULB because it;s pretty close, sometimes I take my car, or I even catch the bus from free! and I dont know how bad is to go to UCR, but If I wouldve gone there, then I wouldve have to commute for more than an hour, and if my car suddenly stopped working on the freeway, or there was traffic on the freeway, then I was never gonna make it from artesia!
It's not that bad. Most classes don't start before 10am so you need to be on campus by 8am to get a spot in Lot 1 or 16 and then after that the parking structures will fill up. It's completely doable. E-mail me for tips.

Night classes are where it's at. A lot less people and some of the faculty-only lots are opened up to everyone after 6 pm.

It is bad this semester because they closed one lot to build a new multi-level parking structure in its place. Even the professors are late to class!
PS Ride a bike or take the bus. It is college for heaven's sake. Haven't we leaned this yet?

it's only really full the first week of class. after that everyone starts half-assing it and it's not too bad to get parking.
