Nice documentary Ive done Chicago Comic-Con the last 5 yrs I absolutely agree w/ the guy being interviewed talking about not expecting to make money So many people jump in uber excited dont become famous after 1 con & give up I sell more books every year but have never made a profit I do it because its what I want to do & Im lucky enough to have a decent day job to finance my self-publishing It should be about passion for the work but in our world nothing happens without money.
@lenjon32 It's common sense. The only way to make a living as an indy publisher is if you pull a Todd Mcfarlane and give the fans a dark story starring a hero from the pit of hell. Otherwise you best be in it for the hobby and who knows, you might make some profit on accident.
@wiiagent I think you were missing the point of what I was trying to show. I wanted to show up and coming comic producers (artists, writers whatever) that they shouldn't be too gung ho going into their first, or second, or third convention. Cause unless they are very lucky, they will likely never make back the money they spend to attend those conventions. It SHOULD be about the art, but your going to have to spend lots of money to get people to see your art, rather than the other way around.
@tyniehawk Oh god... I swear I was drunk when I wrote that! I removed that horrifying remark I made about how I should be famous already as soon as I saw it. I cant believe I wrote something like that and completely forgot about it! I am allot more humble now... I promise!!!!
Pretty cool, I like the inside look. Homeless Robot looks like it's worth checking out, and the phone call in the middle of the interview was funny. Looking forward to Issue 2.
