I can't even begin to fathom (as a mother myself) what would drive a mother to do such a thing! @vnaricer It's a good question... why didn't the father, or other relatives, or neighbors, or the police, or hospital workers notice suspect? I think most likely what they were seeing was so appalling and unthinkable -- a woman losing child after child as the years went by -- and Tinning was such a sociopath, so skilled at "absorbing sympathy" and concealing what was happening -- people just couldn't face that possibility. Until the doctor who realized what was happening. So sad for the kids.
that guy should be taken behind the hospital and beat within an inch of his life. after that he should be thrown in the middle of the harshest prison yard in the country and his crime should be announced so that the convicts can have their way with him

Marybeth started to Murder her children.
After Marybeth's newborn daughter (3rd child-Jennifer), Died on Jan. 3,1972.
Jennifer was sick at birth and never left the hospital.
Jennifer had died a few weeks after birth of a severe infection.
The severe infection was diagnosed as Meningitis.
It was believed Jennifer was born sick as a result of her Mother's attempt to induce labor using a coat hanger.
