Can someone exlain to me why the dealer dealt 2 more cards after the initial river card? I am obviously not a poker expert and have never seen this before. Just wondering why it was done.
wow this is about the first realllllly bad play ive seen durr ever make. 100k more with ace high, really? just putting patrick on complete air KQ or sumthin i guess. as the saying goes thin line between genius and donkey
all the swings in poker are just sick, Dwan sit down to play to win some money you know, but instead he loses more than 100,000 dollars. You go to play to win and instead you lose, and it's like 50% of the time you win 50% of the time you lose and Pokerstars takes all the rake and everyone loses alot of money. So in the end there is no money left
@Daystodaze you are fool of enthusiasm now, but you play that game for long enough you will realise that no matter what you do you will loose unless you are a genius
@maidenman012 Because the producers are too lazy and/or stupid to factor that into their analysis. Patrik has zero outs here but they still say he has 4. watch?v=MbUDC_rSv3w
6:39 "two times dealer". this dealer is like in every show, every final table of tournaments, everywhere, and Eli still calls him just "dealer", lmao :D
@marshallbrooks1 No he actually spoke during the hand at 6:02 . It's not the first time he does it, he's known for talking during other players hand. He deserve to be shot gun.
@marshallbrooks1 At these stakes yes its a major offense. The ONLY reason this guy is allowed to play with the others, is because he's a huge fish to them. Other than that, the guy is missing some serious manners, like the time he talks during a hand where Allen Cunningham has bet mistakently a 5000 chip instead of 500, he almost alerted everyone in the hand that it was the case, so Phil Ivey heard that and repoped him 15k with junk to make him fold. He has to learn to stfu.
Not a bad call at all.. just high variance one. If, like most small stakes & amateur players, Antonius' shoving range was just TT - > AA Tom would be in bad shape -- having about 20% equity when he needs something like 37% to make a call profitable. However, adding only a single bluff hand to Patriks range for making this move (we'll say AJ for shits and giggles) gives Tom 40% equity and the right price to call, and PA is capable of making this play with that hand.
Agreed. Did you figure that equity out with poker stove or is it just something you calculated?
I'm trying to guess what PA is thinking/calculating on the flop. He's probably asking Dwan how much he has behind because he can't just shove Q9 if he had 200k behind instead of 100. As stacks get deeper Antonius can't profitably shove there since he'd lose too much money in case Dwan bet the flop with QQ-KK-AA.
For 100k I think shoving Q9s there is definitely profitable
@Foreverguga1 Well these two have played a ton each other so it's just a leveling (and luck) war. Here, PA knows there are more combos of AK & AQ than pairs, and even if Dwan bets this way with these holdings only, raising here is correct because Dwan's bet is made to induce a shove from AQ which would make AK (in theory) fold, and when getting called, it'd still have 30% equity (against TT-JJ).
So here he raises because he'll do it with AT-AK too, balancing.
@NateHiggers52 Lol Meltzer was one of the most successful businessmen in the world and was far from a slob, do not judge a book by its cover, RIP Alan Meltzer
These 2 have a dynmic whee if patrik had aces, kings or queens he would have raised it preflop. They have played enough with eachother that dwan knows patrik can have a lot of hands on the flop. once patrik goes allin dwan should know patrik has either a really strong hand, or a bluff. his AK has 6 outs against strong hands, and is rougly a 75% favorite againt all buffs with dwan getting rougly :1 it meens patrik has to be bluffing quite a low percentage of the time for this call to be correct.
@SayNoobB4ULeave You can't expect P.A to be attempting a bluff move on such an extremely dry brd like that, that shallow and expect Dwan to buy it that he has nothing and his A high is good. When P.A knows how big a station Dwan is and that he is down in session and tilting making it even less incredibly likely he would ever fold something that P.A is currently beating. Because P.A would almost never try such a move here, Dwan leveled himself thinking that he was. He was tilted and stuck also...
@NateHiggers52 As soon as I saw Meltzer, I was going to write a comment referring to him. Then I saw your comment, decided it was perfect, and just liked it =)
@Ac3Saint Durrr would have loved that joke so stfu and stop going around trying to find people that don't know about his death and saying show a little respect
@lolipedofin Yes, it's Texas Hold 'em. Sometimes in cash games when players go all-in on the flop, they decide to deal the turn and river cards more than once. Here they decided to deal it 2 times. Patrik won both times so he got the whole pot. If an A or a K appeared one of these times they would split the pot, and if Durrr won both times the cards were dealt, he'd get the entire pot.
@safferken ali has his comedic moments. he's not a bad player, neither. he just talks 10 times as much as anyone else at the table, and takes an eternity to make decisions, sometimes.
dwan got thoroughly owned in this hand. what a great play, hence dwan's eye roll at 8:06. can't believe antonious was able to own dwan in this fashion. a lot of leveling in this hand. pretty impressive.
Meltzer seems like a nice guy when I have watched him play, but when he is sitting next to the picture of health Antonius it is hard not to notice that he is a tad out of shape.
@julesickdrums I don't think Dwan expected Antonius to call such a big reraise preflop with any hand that had a 9 in it (which is why he said "nice hand" I bet). The two things he didn't count count on were 1) Q9s is in a weird twilight zone between categories of hands where you just might think about doing that, and 2) Antonius knows Dwan bluffs a lot, which justifies a slightly looser call than usual in that spot. Or at least that's my guess, I hate to sound like a Monday morning quarterback.
meltzer looks fat because he made so much fucking money playing poker the man could do an all you can eat at a five star restaurant..there's ar eason why he's chip leader on this table

i think Dwans thinking is that there is so many differnt straight draw combinations that PA would call like that pre flop and raise like that on the flop and if he does have a pair hes still got 6 outs. Plus its good for his crazy rep and he looks great if hes right.
This, along with many other videos, show the difference between a HU specialist like Dwan vs other top pros. His legendary, multi-barrel bluffs are the stuff of legend, but it also shows a lack of caution in the face of very poor odds. That said, I wish I was Dwan. ;)
Can someone exlain to me why the dealer dealt 2 more cards after the initial river card? I am obviously not a poker expert and have never seen this before. Just wondering why it was done.

you CAN win by only making money in 50% of your sessions. But its how well you play that decides how much you make and win in each different session.

This, along with many other videos, show the difference between a HU specialist like Dwan vs other top pros. His legendary, multi-barrel bluffs are the stuff of legend, but it also shows a lack of caution in the face of very poor odds. That said, I wish I was Dwan. ;)
