I'll let the other criticize the arrangement on their own, but as a horn player, I can tell you that the range is not anything intimidating. Most good high school horn players have a range up to a B-flat or C above the treble staff, which is a good five notes higher than anything in this score. So the horn range is very doable for any horn player with some experience. Professional players often can reach a full octave HIGHER than the high G you have at 1:04.
is there anyway i could have a copy of that?? i wanna play that with my buds...buttttt is there any possible way that the horn could be played like a little lower or an octave lower. idk if i can do some of those high notes!
hmmm... odd ending. Also, the tuba part is also a bit high. Might want to take it down a bit... maybe an octave in a lot of place. The ending is... interesting...
yea dude, just be careful with some range issues. espescially the horn, they have to play so high in the overtone series. also, last chord, move the baritone (which i guess you could substitute for a trombone) up an octave. not only are you ending on an inverted chord, but it's in second inversion. bad news! and don't put baritone below bass. and you're forgetting some time signature changes, and the french horn resolution at 1:05 to the 7th (or 3rd of V chord). best of luck to you!
@G122092 Thanks for the thoughts! I haven't taken any theory classes, so some issues are guaranteed. Also, the time signature changes: I know. I have the trial version of finale and it doesn't allow you to change time signatures in a single piece. Thanks for all the constructive criticisms though! I really appreciate it.
Yeah, you didn't "arrange" this at all... You took the barbershop quartet version and copypasta'd it for the instrumentation you want, but this is ridiculous for the tuba and horn player range-wise. Honestly, ridiculous. How did it sound when you tried to play it? I can only imagine it was total ass, even if you have great players in your group...

Do you think you can send me the .MUS file for this? I'd love to do some fixing up on the horn part.

@Kileofdonegal I'll do my best. I haven't really figured out the program too well yet, but I'll try when I get a chance this weekend.
