@cjprd - Yes it is on iTunes. If you search for "Why not Priest?" you will find it. It is called "The Way." I have just downloaded it - it is truly a beautiful and very moving song. Possibly more so because I am exploring my vocation at the moment so it resonates with where I am. All the best in wherever He leads you.

the thing is it will be difficult at any point in your life to go back to where you were. you are giving up anything and that is part of the call, to detach yourself. god will provide if you are generous with him he will not cause harm because of it.

thinking alot be4 making the decision {add to that plenty of prayer/study/time} that you get the chance to enter seminary.......that does not mean you are going to be a priest, it is a time for discernment, not decision.

You need a spiritual director/guide to help.

A great song indeed, for a very important truth. There is no need to be afraid of taking the step to follow God. Visiting the seminary is not committing your entire life to that; rather it's just taking a look, seeing if this is where you want to be. And as this song says, we shouldn't be afraid of that! Very nicely done.

i disagree. if you have the desire, step forward and give it a try its better to find out later than let the moments pass by looking at the sky like the song says. if you see a pretty girl you really want to talk to...but you can't because you are too shy....does that mean you weren't meant to be together? well....sort of but something really good could have been there.

I agree with you that you shouldn't rush, but it is also good to try it out right away, because there will be fewer distractions. Of course, God can work at any time, but if you go into the seminary at 18, and you realize after a year of giving your best, that you are not called, then you can get on with a "normal" life earlier. It really depends on each person, but I would recommend going to the seminary. You can always leave the seminary, but it's much harder to leave a career, house, girl etc
