  • @mrgreen05 Thanks man! Yeah I do, but that's the fun of TMV songs, improv is very important :)

  • your totally right :) ! good work :D

  • 5/5!! You nailed this song!!! You've got killer guitar tone! I actually was about to cover this song on bass as well! I am gonna upload soon!

  • slide before the chorus was dope.

i get my jollyz off to the little things lulz

  • Haha thanks a lot man ;)

  • Sweet dude, this is awesome. I'd like to do a cover of "Viscera Eyes" off of Amputechture, but I just don't know if I can do it justice enough haha.

  • Please post it!

I love that song so much, would be awesome to see you playing it.

  • Oh gosh man. I'll try but give me sometime to learn it properly haha.

  • Wow! AWESOME cover. Have a merry Christmas my rocking amigo. Hopefully we can jam sometime in the next few years!

  • great man, you gave it a lot of yourself!

  • Thanks my dear brother!

Haha dankje man! Klinkt lekker zo met microfoon he? :)

  • wow, excellence.! orgasmic sounds.

one of my TMV favorites. sounded like fun

    great playing and choice 5*'s

  • Thanks a lot man! I love this song :)

  • sorry, if i come off as an ass when i say this, because i'm only trying to give you constructive feedback.

when it comes to the verses (which, in a way, could be classed as solos), it's evident that you've made use of john frusciante's style predominantly. i know this because i was (or still am) the same.

i'd only assume this is true, seeing this is the only filmed mars volta cover you have. not sure how often you play songs from the band.

i'll five-star this for the great effort, though.

  • You're right man, Fusciante is my main influence, but it became kind of my style, know what I mean? So improvisations (I obviously improvise during the verses) are most likely in the style of Frusciante.

Thanks a lot for the stars and the comment man :)

  • @XguitarrockerX

    yup, yup.

i can definitely see that too. glad to know that you don't see it as harsh criticism.

i just uploaded a cover of "cotopaxi". can't get enough of the mars volta. =]

no worries dude, keep up the excellent work.

  • Oh and nice job, you made it your own, good job

Love the Mars Volta, probably my favorite band, after listening to them it's very hard to listen to other kinds of music because it just seems so boring

  • Thanks!

I hope to see your covers soon, Cygnus is so hard!!

And what you just said about TMV is exactly what I'm trying to say to people, other music becomes boring after seeing TMV live and if you listened to their albums.

I've been to TMV live December the 7th, it was amazing! 40 minutes of Cicatriz!!!

  • Omg I swear I just recorded a cover of this and am going to post it soon, probably my favorite from deloused, I also recorded Cygnus from Frances the mute, but I wasn't to happy with it

  • haha, i was just about to film a cover of this.

i guess you beat me to it. =]

  • sounded pretty good !!!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • hey, this is my favorite one from The Mars Volta. Grande cover, and it's over-flooded with energy!

I have to learn the main riffs, very very effective stuffs.(:

  • Thanks, I love this band so much, and this is the only song I can get through all the way.

The main riff isn't as hard as you might think, you have to take care of the strumming, that's the most important thing

  • Great job! Was this with the Marshall as well? It sounded great.

What mic and interface are you using to record this? I want to be able to get good sound quality with my new amp but my camera mic obviously won't cut it!

  • Thanks! That was my marshall yeah, still a good sound, but th edeville is much better though, if you'd hear it through a mic :)

    I use a Shure SM57 and a behringer Xenyx802

    Cheap set, but good quality!
