  • lol you NEVER use a pry tool to open an iPhone 3G/3GS. Use a small (aproximately the size of a silver dollar) and pry it up gently from the corner where the home button is.

You NEVER use a pry tool because you will ruin the black rubber seal around the edge of the phone and run the risk of warping the "chrome" rim.

There is a reason the video skipped from putting the tool in, and then it showed the phone opening. it is NOT that easy to pry it up like that.

  • jebo ti mater, ti imas alat ja nemam kako cu ja rastavit?

  • This is the best guide to know how to disassemble iPhone 3GS I've ever seen.

But one more thing I want to know how can I open mother boad.

  • soooo.... how do i put it back??

  • @ShinkJY

try running the video REVERSE !! ;-)

  • Now how to I replace the back cover of the iPhone???

  • @SUPERFORMIAN just put everything back, but into the cover. i just bought a blue cover on ebay, white glass, and a blue home button.

  • MISOPHONES●COM

    UNLOCK YOUR iPhone #FTW

  • There is a seal between the glass and the metal bit. I tried what you do, but all I managed to do was fuck up the seal! How do I go through the rubber seal?

  • jackass no sound

  • kia baat ha

  • canto de mama bicho fuck you bitch yo nesesito saber como desmontar el boton de inicio canto de cabron

  • @cristian41510 cabron te estan ayudando

  • guys read this before you do. be gentle or you screw it. and if you dont know how to and your phone is now broken you dead but i have the iphone 4 so for all iphone users who are trying to remove. go easy

  • DO NOT take your LCD apart this way, youre going to break it!

  • hi guys, ive just replaced my iPhone housing, ive got my phone all back together with the display working and everything. The only thing that isnt working is the home button, if someone has any advice on why it doesnt work could they message me? I didnt take apart the screen at all, just changed the housing. Any help would be much appreciated

  • will the lcd screen show anything if i just connect the lcd screen(cable 1) only without the cable 2 & 3 connected?

  • please someone help me.

i have changed the housing of the phone then i can get the phone to show off on itune

  • where is the wifi .....

  • my screen does not even work now!!!

  • i was thinking in changing the back case of my iphone from black to white, is all this work really necessary in doing so?

  • @Fl0wersInTheWind0w It's quite intimidating to do, especially putting it back together. I'd consider it seriously. If the back is that badly scratched, then you should.

  • @usaswim323 I actually did it and managed to pull it off, its pretty easy if you follow a good guideline and marks where the screw goes, apart from that it was fine

  • @Fl0wersInTheWind0w I'm going to attempt it very soon, when all the parts come in. I've managed to take off the parts all the way down to the battery for practice, but I stopped there, because the top left corner with the headphone jack is INSANE! I can tell that part is going to be frustrating.

  • @usaswim323 yeah it is but i give you a heads up, the part which is the most frustrating is the silence button and screws attached to it, i'lll advise you to use some sellotape to hold the silent switch in its place and make sure the button is synced properly when replacing the circuit, another thing is the battery is stuck down quite firm and needs to be replaced exactly in the same place or some parts dont fit, such as the bottom circuit with the speakers

  • y dont u keep it the write way up

  • FUCCKEN CAN'T FIX MY SCREEN SINCE IT WONT TURN ON ANYMORE. THE FUCK DO I DO NOW.

  • Voided warranty ftw.

  • @TehJayden Apples warranty is shit ftw!

  • where do you put the two small bracket inside. one is silver and one is black.

  • I don't know what you guys have been doing, but based on this tutorial i was able to take my phone apart and back together in an hour or so.

Thanks for this great guide mate! Cheers!

  • @BeerShow815

It is true heard Apple shut down the phone so they were not able turn it on

A lot of you watchin' this video simply can't afford the iPhone 4g, since it will be close to $500

However I found out on Apples facebook page yesterday they are giving away a ton of iphone 4gs. If your lazy, this will take you to Apples contest webpage copy and paste

    shortener。org/79018

Use this code at the end FACEBOOK5965

  • finally a video you can watch

  • thanks man, maybe now i can fix my iphone screen, it has the white screen of death

  • Awesome video

My 3g, I can't use volume and home buttons.

    How can I fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • so i disassembled the iphone 3g and assembled it back together just to look inside. i made sure all the connectors were back in place.

now i can't turn on my phone. when i plug it into the wall charger, the apple logo appears for 2 seconds and then turns off. i tried to do a hard reset and it shows the "connect to itunes" logo and it stays there. the problem is when i disconnect the usb, the phone shuts off.

I plugged the phone into my laptop, but it won't start up either! help!!!

  • @viethomeboiii dam that sucks but opening an iphone by urself is just looking for truble man a bad idea

  • IMBECILE!

  • @viethomeboiii

yo, were you able to fix your iphone? Mine is fked up after following this video tutorial. It power up and show the apple logo. 4 secs later it automatically turn off. IDK what is causing this problem. Anyone know?

  • @KingOfDemigod

its probably the battery, thats what was happening to mine. the cable connected from the battery to the phone ripped.

  • @5eman5

Man, I was so stupid. I sold the phone away for a much cheaper price because I didn't know what the problem was. Now that I realized it, the problem lie in the recharger or battery. ........ I sold my sweet 3g 16gb for $150 including box and accessories. And worst of all, it's unlocked and jailbroken 3.1.3 firmware.

  • One question . To remove/replace the lock button is it neccesary to remove the mainboard or just the camera module ?

  • @monorath

camera connection is underneath main board so mainboard needs to be removed

  • I have the same prob, I cant find a housing replace/repair toturial...

  • ok when you change the back housing. the chrome part around the camera and audio jack, is that glued to the original back housing or does it stay attached to the inside of the phone itself? Please help

  • @aznbenle21 i need to know that too mennn --____-

  • do i have to do this if im changing the back housing to a new color? please reply, i already bought the back housing and i cannot do this lol.

  • are you wearing an anti-static bracelet when you doing this or is it even necessary?

  • I scratched my camera, is that the housing or the actual lens?

  • fuck this! i was going to do it, but after seen the video, fuck that!!

  • Disassembly iPhone is really a bitch! Bitchier than Blackberry !!

  • mi am spart ecranu :( am vrut sa-l curat de praf

  • I DONT HAVE THE "Case opening tool" AND FRANKLY WHO DOES???

  • You can use a small sucking disk. Suck and pull. :-)

  • Why would u do that for

  • because apple charge £130 to repair why would you pay that for repairs when you can do them yourself

  • anyone have any video that repair the home button?

  • Is it possable to remove only the back of the iphone 3g?

  • The secret is Duct Tape!! Fold it into a T shape, with the top of the T the sticky part and the leg as the handle. Put the sticky part across the home button part of the screen and pull on your duct tape handle - it will just pull the screen right out very easy. Figured this out after bending several of the plastic removal tools.

  • A suction cup from a toy/souvenir would do the trick, too.

  • Followed your instruction, now the iPhone is FUCKED UP!!!! THE SCREEN WONT EVEN TURN ON!!!! THANKS A MILLION, NOT!!!! Now how the fuck do I fix the screen.

  • Awesome, found a tutorial somewhere else, now my screen is all up and running again.

  • lol. dumbass.

  • check your first 3 connectors to make sure they're all connected properly. you might have to apply more pressure than you think

  • @VirtueDesignNZ SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME , YOU HAVE TO CONNECT THE CABLE THAT CLIPS IN PROPERLY ... DW IT TOOK ME 3 GOES UNTIL IT WORKED

  • @VirtueDesignNZ hahahaha i am so glad you fucked your iphone.

  • @VirtueDesignNZ LOL! iphone repair....your doing it wrong

  • @VirtueDesignNZ all u do is put the 2nd on in ull hear a click then put down the screen and it'll work trust me i tried it

  • @VirtueDesignNZ: YOUR RETARDED...Did you ground yourself when doing this because if you don't you fuck up the phone.

  • @VirtueDesignNZ Noob!!

  • @VirtueDesignNZ U mad bro?

  • @VirtueDesignNZ good job

    keep up the good work

  • @VirtueDesignNZ I HEAR YOU BROTHER!

  • @VirtueDesignNZ i think i am having the same problem now.. did you manage to solve the problem?

  • @VirtueDesignNZ hey i just did this and same happened too me :( but i fixed it by holding the home and power button for about 12 seconds or until the apple logo appears

  • @VirtueDesignNZ

Noob I did it many times and it always worked!

Check if all the cables are conected! ;)

  • @bitsever He commented 1 year ago, you really think he's gonna be having the same problem? Fucking genius.

  • @zymethrox lol I did the same thing XD

  • @VirtueDesignNZ

    14 n00bs Like'd this comment.

  • @53v3N7 Well no shit?

  • @VirtueDesignNZ I dnt know much about the screen but it could be the connecter's that he showed 0:45 (he says 1 yr later)

  • @VirtueDesignNZ mabe your bitchass should have NOT fucked with it.

  • @VirtueDesignNZ nothing is broken you just haven't connected things correctly.

  • @VirtueDesignNZ ya you retard probably cause you ripped it apart without taking the micro chip ribbons that run the screen out carefully, i followed his instructions, first time taking it apart ever and i put it back together and its nice and clean inside and works perfectly, next time carefully do it dumbass

  • i have that tool, it's a flimsy piece of shit. how did you manage to pry open the iphone with it?!!?!

it's almost as the damn thing is made from wax!!

  • I need help!!! My mom's iphone was thrown with moderate power on the carpet and the screen is white. If someone could help me I would be very very happy!

  • send to apple and get it repaired!!!

  • DO NOT PRY UP the LCD off this way (I break my lcd this way :/ ) safer way it is insert screwdriver between two metal rails on side

  • I did that too, is it now all white, with what looks to be - burn marks on the screen?

  • that thing can explode in de light lmao

  • Is all this necessary If you just want to replace the back ? can some plz reply to this thank you

  • Yep, everything is attached to the back. Im assuming you mean you want to put a new back casing on your iPhone? Its pretty time consuming and not that easy if you never done something like this...

  • all ready been done you can buy backings for $20

  • Yep, just replaced mine for a white one, Have to remove everything, including the battery which just pulls of with the tab, and then all needs to be put back in!

  • Did yours work out without any issues?

  • I was gonna buy a new pink housing for my iPhone 3G but after watching this, I'm not too sure I wanna do that =X

  • Eh, its not that bad, just keep track of which screws go where, and be very careful with removing the cables and such, everything in the phone is extremely fragile.

  • Can you remove the glass from the digitizer? I see that you can buy the glass without replacing the digitizer.

  • in 2:01 what part is that? is the wifi part?

  • what kind of engineer do that

  • Search for iphone/iPod/Mac parts ?

    --> BricoMac

  • when i remove the black rubber seal can i replace it ?

when i buy i new touch panel is there this black rubber or will i have this space between the screen and the metal frame????

  • i even broke my lcd when i tried to chance my touch panel :((((((((((((

    idiotssssss

  • Lolfail.

  • that's because you probably did it like this guy. THAT'S WRONG!! next time you should lift the screen up a tiny tiny bit like he did and then pull away the sides. then the screen will pop out after which you can slide it out :)

  • You could have said that your fucking turtorial is fucking difficult for a random person to perform.. I just destroyed my screen because of your stupid video.. Thanks jerk..! Suck dick in hell faggot..!

  • DO NOT PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE. Many people have fucked their phone including me. JUST PAY EXTRA TO GET IT DONE PROFESSIONALLY. Its not as easy as it looks

  • Although not everyone may be technically or mechanically inclined, you don't have to be a moron to use this procedure. Also, your phone is already fucked, how much more can it be fucked if you use this procedure? I did, and my phone is STILL water damaged, it hasn't gotten any worse.

  • I've found an "easier" less destructive way than using the phone opening tool to pop off the screen. I recommend using a small suction cup, and a string tied around the back "nub". Stick the cup on your screen (close but not on the Home button) and wrap the string around your finger and GENTLY pry up. This way doesn't damage the rubber film along the outside of your screen.

  • This is a bit hard to do when the screen is severely cracked, to the point that a suction cup cannot get a hold of the screen.

Just out of curiousity, how badly does it damage the rubber film? I'm about to do the procedure to replace my screen

  • that depends on how many times you'll have to try getting the screen out, but if you're careful enough the damage shouldn't be that much, although there always will be at least a bit of damage but that's ok

  • i need to change the case of my iphone... me and my friend got drunk... then he tried a scratch test on the back of my iphone... and of course the back of an iphone is not scratch proof..

  • Vraiment déconseillé si vous souhaitez pouvoir réutiliser votre Iphone apres c'est de la pure galere !!!

  • hey.. i was just wondering.. i got my simcard+tray stuck in my 3G... o is it okay if i just let it be there when i open it up??? please reply...

  • ya it is ok i have forgotten to take out my sim tray a few times when i opened it

  • Thnx bro! :)

  • Hi.. whats the touchscreen cable?? or switch xD..

  • if i buy a glass lens digitizer will i be able to replace the glass cause ive broken the glass on my iphone!

  • wtf?! why would you do this???!!!

  • i did it cause some fucking idiot pressed to hard on the screen an it drop under it was much bellow what is was supposed to bet i fixed it

  • Just use a suction cup like the ones you use on a window works like a charm lol

  • The green plastic take apart tool PDA parts sell is fucking crap. I have gore through three of them and my iPhone has still stuck together. I cannot get it apart. I am going to try RAPID REPAIR's deluxe tool set for iPhone 3G, but I have my doubts!!!! :(

  • use a thin guitar pick their only a quarter instead of soending 5 to 10 bucks a set on those p.o.s "soft pry tools"

  • I cannot take my fucking iPhone apart!!! :(

  • What sort of screw driver is that? Where can you get it?

  • look very complicated

  • i need to know how to take off home button

  • how to remove home button ??????

  • Fairly well done video. I used a suction cup to pull the screen from the bezel and it worked much better than trying to pry is out using the case opening tool. No mention, however is given about disassembling the home button mechanism nor how to transfer the "rails" that hold the LCD to the screen...seems to be the tough part!

  • good job!

  • i have a broken glass... i just bought a new one... will it work? i'am asking because i can see in your video, that the glass has some part glued to it

  • Hi, how far do you have to go to replace the silver bezel?

  • So basically i can open my iPhone until 0:58 then close it and i still have my warranty?? They can't see i opened it??

  • can't begin to disassembly from the back cover? it would be easier to replace the battery, or i'm wrong???

  • The iPhone 3G is unlike the iPhone, you have to start from the front.

  • exellent job
