I use the compression effect on only a couple of my songs. Thier the loudest among all my other songs. Although I do notice that it does give it quite some gain. In my opinion, id use the electribe's compression for songs you want loud. Thats about it...
yeah but you can't read off the card. you have to take thingas off to add things... that's my only complaint. I wish it were more like a 505 that actually reads from the card you know?
Does anyone know if there is a new generation of Korg Grooveboxes planned? I like the ESX1 but I want something with more EFX built in for doing more minimal/idm stuff.
did you have to delete a shit load of samples off that thing to get any of your sounds on there cuz this thing has like no memory...it's pissing me off
is that a card slot on the bottom? im getting one of these soon and might need an sd card port for my pc because i like to record my guitar and trim it with software
i've got an esx, i've been needing a smart media card for a while what with the included samples being generic and shit. don't suppose you know if the smart media readers for pictures are also able to upload samples to a card?
Did you sample those pads in the first song? or did you use the onboard synth? I cant decide between the EMX-1 or the ESX-1, and thats exactly why. Sacrifice the infinite synth possibilitys of the ESX for the infinite SAMPLING possibilitys of the emx? help me!!!!!!!!
Yea I used the onboard synth. I only messed with the EMX a couple of times. The ESX doesnt have much memory to sample stuff. The EMX might your best bet if you dont mind not having sampling capabilities.
i guess harvestein got something wrong there. 1. The ESX is the sampling machine, the EMX is the one with a build-in Synthesizer.
2. The Synthparts of the EMX aren't THAT great compared to a modern synthesizer. It's only capable of monophonic sounds and doesn't have any fancy synthesis-functions, just straight subtractive synthesis.
I would go for an ESX for Sampling and maybe use the Keyboardparts to trigger an external synth.
For Jungl3Bunny420 you can download esx wave organizer it's free and you can make your own esx files or you can import directly some waves, aiff with the card see you
Ok, I'll come back to see your new videos. I think it would be a good idea if you upload to somewhere an mp3 version of your new stuff. Anyway, glad to talk with you. Keep rocking!!!! Best wishes from Madrid :)
It's easy. Just get sound editor (Cool Edit, por example) and record your session with it. You'll get a .wav file. Afterwards, use the software to convert it in .mp3 (something like Export to->mp3) and that's all! If you have any questions, send me a pm). Bye!
Hi there :) I think you're doing a good job with that sampler... Do u have more stuff like this? Maybe a live session or something like that? I'd like to listen it! Cheers!
Well... I do have some more stuff... but its all kinda different from whats on these vids. I "TRY" not to do the same thing over and over again... I'll try and put a new video up soon of the other stuff I have... maybe even delete these and make another attempt at making these improvs somewhat better than what they are are... Its all live... But ill give it a try soon... Thanx for diggin it... Very much appreciatated! =]
hahahah! no im not the black guy... are those videos still up?? i could have sworn iv erased those videos... but neaa.. im the skinny mexican guy with glasses and white shirt playing the drums in those recovery mission videos... yea thats mee... wait a second... it just hit me... do i look black in those videos?? hahahaa! but like i said im a computer illiterate, and i dont even know how to send the files... =/ hahah sorry dude...
I owned the electribe also once, however i sold it, but i miss it now, maybe i buy it again. I like the last track of this vid. To pitful that u r a computer illiterate. ;) Anyway, nice music. respect!

what do you think about the compression effect?
Their seems to be some kind of gain/volume problem with it. And if you use the filter and the compression together you get tons of white noise.

d3p3ch3mod3 3 years ago
well they aren't made anymore, but you can search smart media card on google, or ebay and theres still some cards there
or you can go on the olympus website and use dealer locater, which shows where SM cards are still stocked
Fieldy63 3 years ago
esx-1 are still sold and in production. are you talking about smartmedia cards? check ebay, amazon, online in general.

Get an ESX, and a sequencing keyboard synth with lots of dedicated knobs.. and a couple midi cables.. best way to go
d3p3ch3mod3 3 years ago

If you use the esx for the midi sender it's still going to be monophonic.get a polyphonic synth with a sequencer
d3p3ch3mod3 3 years ago
Dude!! This is so awesome.. Do you use nothing else but this machine in this video???
soerena88 3 years ago
I just use the ESX in these vids. I have some other vids where I also use a Korg R3 Synth. Check em out! =]
