@macdaddy1600 : well, I spent 250€ back in 2009 in a Venture 30CP second hand, and I still fly it. Just had to change the belt and cyclic servos due to wear. Now searching for the ball bearings to change all of them
@team222badbrad Yes, i know i ment you dont mix gas and oil like a 2 stroke weedeater, sorry if it came out wrong, i have 6 nitro buggies and a baja 5b, theres no way of controlling the amount of lubricant in nitro unless you modify it, its complicated.
I've watched a number of videoes....why does yours smoke so much? What with the gas? I've seen a lot of them that run with out all the stuff. Did like your info. and video! Good job!
Nice job... small bit of constructive criticism. Everyone has done "review" videos... don't. Fly with your antenna "Up" not pointing down. Otherwise nice flight, but could have done without the 2/3 length of the video explanation and the cha ching sound.
@team222badbrad bahahah aint that the truth alot of hobby stores ive been to wont work on rc ear bought from EBAY,TOY WORLD JAYCAR or anyother bs selling store without minimum deposit of first hour and labor fees lol good idea i reckon
my 'modded' hk450, cost a total of a little over a $600, as much of value as I could get from a smaller 450 with good electronics/servos and a futaba 7c radio/receiver.
i would rather a trex500 esp or 600 then this harobo heli .. i have many friends who had the harobos over the years most no all i think now fly Trex's some Raptor's mostly couse of the price to perfomance. if they got cash on the hip can can spend a few quid from what ive seen they will then go for the.. Avant, Synergy, Outrage brands
i think you should tune the engine because it's smoking alot from the engine. . i dont know enything about rc nitro helicopters but i have a nitro rc car . . sorry about the english :) but nice helicopter!!:D
@MeloTopy Yes with the introduction of chinese stuff prices have dropped on quality stuff. Also new larger engines have come out so a .50 costs less than say the new .55 engines.
nice :P hirobo have very high quality helis... I see a big quality difference between my quark and some other (cheaper)helis i have owned... I'm planning to buy some bigger heli too... Quark doesn't like much wind on outdoor conditions :D
man i started a month ago with a small full function helicopter from my local hobby shop and within a week i was buying bigger more expensive models what a cool hobby
im thinking of getting a Raptor 30 V2 ARF w/39H motor. I jsut need to know do you think the manual will outline how to set up squash plate, throttle trim, blade tracking and pitch curves etc.? Would the heli be mainly assembled with motor installed ?
Pretty informative video, there are a lot of things one must buy just to get started with the hobby.
Especially gas/nitro requires way more tools, accessories and also fuel compared to electric.
Surely, a complete first-timer can't get much lower than that save for buying a complete used kit.
But then it's used vs new, and ofc you may still not get Rx/Tx/Servos in the deal, as very few sellers are willing to depart with these. In general only bodies, airframes and engines are sold.
Training too. People waste a lot of money and crash. I only use Rc nitro cars like Kyosho and Traxxas. Nitromethane is only around 20 to 30 a gallon. A lot though. Engines are priced 300 dollars just for the car, and require 2-3 hours to break them on.
However if this is your first helicopter or rc model in general, then the Tx, Rx and servos kit push the price upwards pretty steeply but are considered a "one time buy". Many experienced modelers keep forgetting this "first time" expense to get into the hobby...
Update the cost to $39.99 per gallon for Cool Power 30% after the 2008 Olympics anti airpollution shut down Nitro production in China. I just built the 50 Sceadu SWM with a Redline .53 and I dont even want to guess how much that build has cost me.
I agree with hillpykiller These are not toy you could chop a Arm or finger off when my uncle brought a gas plane over and cut his arm and had to get stitches.

@brianbb177 its a nitro engine not a two stroke. nitros don't require oil.

@iRevized Actually it is a two stroke... The nitro fuel has oil in it which is what you see shooting out the exhaust.
