  • all the lemmiwinks songs came form the hobbit????? thats something new to me.

  • AYE!!!!!

  • best song in the world!!!

  • aye!

  • i saw this movie for the first time when i was five i can still quote it this song still makes me cry

  • oh my god, this song is so nostalgic. I used to watch this tape on beta every time I went to my grandmother's house

  • This was cool enough before south park totally ruined it like everything else

  • I liked the Hobbit BEFORE South Park made it cool.

  • @Spartiphobia wow your so cool! and im pretty sure most people didnt get it

  • All in favor of this song being in the credits for the new Hobbit movie, say 'aye.'

  • @megamormonman3212 Agreed. It would be hard to imagine "The Hobbit" without this song. It is the greatest adventure afterall.

  • @megamormonman3212 LOL~ haha, no.

  • @megamormonman3212 AYE AYE!

  • @megamormonman3212 Nay. Even if I liked this song, I'd still think it would be inappropriate to include it in a totally different adaptation.

  • Thumbs up if this is what you're watching to get fired up for Skyrim.

  • The book is ALWAYS better.

  • CATATAFISH

  • The fuck?

  • =_=

  • Go Lemmiwinks!

  • Thumbs up if you have seen the south park episode Lemmingwinks!

  • @Opossumi2010 GO LEMMIWINKS... STOP WIKILEAKS!

  • @TheHPArsenal thats the more recent one. tehres an older one which is also pretty awesome.

  • lemiwinks

  • This movie is awesome

  • I sure hope they add these songs to The Hobbit(2012).

  • @Werdfrerb2 They may not. But if they're going to put the song in, I suggest at the end of the credits.

  • the greatest song in any movie

  • Pure Classic

  • Awesome song.

  • Catata Fish's riddle will soon be told.

  • This should be the end credits to the new Hobbit film

  • Lemmywinks! Lemmywinks! Climb out of the gay man's ass!

  • Lemmywinks

  • IOUadklahsldhasd THIS IS SO GOOD

  • Doesn't this fit Sailor Moon and goku in way? Since they are both called to journeys?

  • @Kanevoorhees1 Goku, I guess. Nobody gives a fuck about Sailor Moon.

  • @honogo4 now that's just not true

  • @kilnorc I don't know anyone who even KNOWS what sailor moon is. That's because it is unpopular because it sucks.

  • @honogo4 I know Sailor Moon, I grew up with it and I'm a fan of it, still trying to watch every bit, including movies. Sailor Moon is one of the most influential and popular series out there with a strong following, just because YOU don't know anyone who likes it, doesn't mean it's unpopular

  • @kilnorc YEAH ! ! ! whatever has meaning to YOU!

  • @honogo4 You suck. What do YOU like? ? ? What do you understand?

  • @ARP7777777 Hey stupid this conversation ended. 7 DAYS AGO.

  • the ballad of Lemmiwinks

  • thumbs up if lemmiwinks brought you here. love the hobbit though, a good read

  • This was an awesome song for a brilliantly-done movie. I hope Peter Jackson won't disappoint with his version.

  • @blackyoshi1230 I wouldn't have any other director do the Hobbit...The Lord of the Rings movies were works of art and I'm sure he will put the same beauty into the Hobbit.

  • @victimofaguillotine I just wish with Gandalf, Ian McKellen will sport his really long beard like in this adaptation.

  • @blackyoshi1230 that would be hilarious..

  • seeing this movie, I can't help but wonder: how is Peter Jackson going to do this? I mean, come on, there are thirteen dwarves, plus Bilbo and Gandalf, how is that gonna work on screen? I hear, in the beginning, Frodo (Elijah Wood) is gonna open the Red Book and starts to read Bilbo's story, and that's how the movie is gonna begin.. but from there, I don't know

  • @DemiathDoomhammer

Martin Freeman is going to bring Bilbo alive... he's a good actor, and finally gotten his real big break. He is well cast, trust me, I've seen most of his work.

I hope this song is covered in a solo for the "lighter" teaser/theatrical trailer... just like how "there and back again" was used in the "Supertrailer". I suspect Frodo will actually only appear at the end of it, and the film will be narrated or opened by old Bilbo as he is writing the book.

  • Thumbs up if South Park brought you here

  • Lemmiwinks!

  • A journey before you may be long and filled with woe

but you must escape the gay man's ass so your tale can be told

    Lemmiwinks, Lemmiwinks, Lemmiwinks, Lemmiwinks

Lemmiwinks journeyed a distance far and vast

to find his way out of the gay man's ass.

  • @jtorsella Don't ruin it buddy.

  • I think this song would feel a bit out-of-place in the Peter Jackson version... but perhaps an instrumental version of it could be worked into the score somehow? That might work.

  • @SPRLDR end credits...solves that problem!

  • lemmiwinks

  • @rossroad100 lol I'm watching that episode right now! ooOOooh! Jeesus Christ! XD

  • 4 goblins do not appreciate the pure awesomeness of this song.

  • I hope this song is used in the Hobbit movie that Peter Jackson is making.

  • @captcrais101 You're right! They definitely should...aw man this is so nostalgic...

  • hurry onward lemmiwinks, or you will soon be dead.

  • In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit. Many ages ago, when this ancient planet was not quite so ancient, long before man recorded his history, it was the time of Middle-Earth, when man shared his days with elves, dwarves, wizards, goblins, dragons and hobbits. In the lands of Middle-Earth, in an area known as the Shire, there was a village named Hobbiton. There, in a hole in the ground, lived a hobbit.

TL;DR: Chip the glasses, crack the plates, bitch.

  • *sighs* Think this song reminds me of my younger days, when the world still seemed unexplored and unknown and it seemed like life could be a grand adventure...

  • @WhiteTiger950 There still could be! :>

  • This deserves to be in teh credits of PJ's film!

  • This is such a lovely song.

  • Lemmiwinks!

  • Glenn Yarbrough is the best male vocalist of all time.

  • PJ shud put this in his film

  • a great adventure is waiting for you ahead

hurry ownard LEMMIWINKS or you will soon be dead

  • ITS THE MINSTRAL OF FREAKING GONGOR BITCHESa

  • Love it if they got the rights to this to use in the upcoming Hobbit movie. They could redo it in a nice orchestral version or enya version or something. This song as never left my head in over thirty years. Be nice to hear it in the live action Hobbit

  • Lemiwinks!!!

  • thumbs up if you watched this after watching death camp of tolerance :P

  • LEMMIWINKS OH LEMMIWINKS

  • Ha i have based my whole life principle on this song.

  • i cant get this song out of my head

  • ...God I love this song...

  • That song was infuriating watching the movie, they cut to it every other second.

  • wow...never knew the lemmingwinks song was based off of an actual song XD

  • Just Greatest:):) The man who's a dreamer, and never takes leave, who thinks of the world that is just make believe :)

  • I wish my alarm clock played this song every morning.

  • Very nice dreams, Bilbo! Very nice dreams indeed! XD

    ~FFF

  • this song makes me want to have one! XD

  • This is a great song. I hate this new youtube layout though, it sucks.

  • oh geez! I love this old movie...... I haven't seen it in forever though...=( I want to watch it now. =)

  • LEMMIWINGS! FTW!

  • tells about Bilbo's adventures and life, always enjoyed it. set's the perfect stage for the film.

  • who wrote this song

  • Beautiful song....*Falls asleep*

  • Did Glen Yarborough reincarnate as Mark Gormley (look up "Little Wings" on youtube) ? :)

  • i watched this movie so much as a kid........

  • this song is great and has true to life meaning, enen into days world. Lemmiwinks!! lol. but really a great song and book and cartoon. this is soo moving.

    The Hobbit 2011-2012

  • i grew up with this movie. it is what made me want to read the lord of the rings. by the way the main composerr was glenn yarbrough.

  • I kept signing this song in my head during graduation and the very moment I walked outside my high school I could do nothing else but smile and cry. Where has the beauty in magic gone folks?

  • i don't care what you say! just because im disabled doesn't mean i can't enjoy this video!

  • @halwil03 I'm afraid to say, just because you're disabled...you can't enjoy this video.

  • I like this style and the other version that came out. I don't like anime much anymore (or really ever did) because it was soooo much the same style for every single character. The older anime was much better.

  • the lemmiwinks version was so much better

  • It is (was) anime, in a sense. The animators were all Japanese. Look at the credits at the end.

  • whatever , the animation rocked...

  • Sacrilege you fool!

  • I like the songs from this film.

  • a great adventure is waiting for you ahead

hurry onward lemmiwinks or you will soon be dead

  • What happened to movies like this? I remember all the Rankin/Bass films vividly from my childhood, and enjoy them tremendously still today. I can not for the life of me understand what has gone so wrong with the world that no one sees any need for beauty or magic anymore...

  • I know - everything must be explained in easy to read, easy to understand, words. there are no more morals in stories or movies and no one will take the time to watch or read classics . . . so sad.

Where has all the magic gone?

  • It's still there, you just have to look for it. You won't find it in modern cinema though, they are too preoccupied with making stupid films about nothing of great importance, and when they do attempt a classic, they modernize it and add that Hollywood 'nobody laughs' humor to it and it's no longer the same. I agree it is very sad.

  • @Coyote179 The magic is still there for those of us that know where to look

  • @Coyote179 It is still there! ! ! STRONGER for being True! ! ! BROTHER ! ! !

  • @Coyote179 I got 3 kids much more familiar with these types and era of shows than anything thats come out in the last 20 years.

  • @bubridge That's good :D

These shows are much more entertaining than anything that has come out in these last few years.

  • you can do it lemmiwinks

  • haha Lemmiwinks, south park? :P

  • sorry to say but this song just cracks me up (southpark does that you).

  • Ah, cool post! I bought the DVD to the Hobbit a few years ago, and really like this song. It reminds us to get out and live life...

  • I absolutely LOVED this movie when it came out, and loved the song too. I watched it again some years back with my grandkids, and they loved it too.

  • this movie brings back many memories.

  • I like the song but I have to wonder - wasn't Tolkien a dreamer?

  • Ah, the nostalgia.... I haven't seen this movie in so long, but I was amazed to find I could still sing along to the song. I watched it over and over again when I was little, then read the book for the first time as a teenager and adored it. Great, song, great movie, great book. You just can't go wrong with Tolkien -- well, if you ignore the animated adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.

  • sorry wisprsinthdrk, I definitely did not mean to mark your comment as spam.

  • A good message from a good song.

  • You have no soul

  • Oh wow....this brings back so memories. I don't really remember the movie much at all, since I was so young when I watched it. But most of this song stuck with me. Beautiful.

  • Anyone know a way to get the sound track :S?

  • Does anyone know where I can find any of Glenn Yarborough's other things like Tturning of the Rose", or "the Mermaid"

  • I wish there was a soundtrack I would by in a heart beat.

  • There is...I had it back in 78

  • i love this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank u!!!!!!!!!!

  • I live/rent a friend's basement in which past renters have left records. I call it The Shire. Today I found a record by Glenn and I was overjoyed. I decided to look him up. How fantastic to find this. So appropriate in voice and words! It is filling the Shire. Thanks so much for posting.

    Christine in Chapel Hill.

  • this song makes me soooooo incredibly happy

  • This song is so beautiful

  • Your welcome. Please copy and paste the lyrics below. I love this movie. I have remembered all the songs all these years. (Sigh) Nostalgia.

  • The greatest adventure is what lies ahead

Today and tomorrow are yet to be said

The chances the changes are all yours to make

The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

The greatest adventure is there if you are bold

Let go of the moment that life makes you hold

To measure the meaning can make you delay

Its time you stop thinking and wasting the day.

  • "The mold of your life is in your hands to break."

Isn't it "The mold of your life is in your hands to grave"? I don't hear him say a K, and grave makes alot more sense than break.

  • Well you see Glen Yarborough kind of has a lisp, and with the bass playing so loudly you can't really hear it.

  • Ah, I still think grave makes more sense than break.

  • You've never heard the phrase "break the mold"?

  • Not until now, though i can see it as a phrase. I can't hear a B or a K, it sounds like "gra-v" to me, which is alot more similar to grave than to break. Likewise "Graving" your life would mean that you're creating it as you will, all your life long, "Breaking" would just be the very start. Though only fools refuse to accept they're wrong, so i'm open for correction if someone can point me towards where to find lyrics?

  • I'm sorry, you're just completely wrong here. The line "the mold of your life is in your hands to break" has the meaning "you now have the chance to distinguish yourself from everyone else".

Especially considering that hobbits generally lead pastoral lives, having the "greatest adventure" would certainly break the mold.

"Grave" makes absolutely no sense in that context. I'm not even a native english speaker and I find you suggesting that he is saying "grave" to be absurd.

  • Since when are you a Hobbit aficionado.

  • Since he decided he was going to dedicate his life to finding out what these fictional creatures loved and how they lived, duh.

  • I agree with daunt it is "Break". If you think about it why would he rhym "make'' with "grave"?

  • I didn't think about rhyming to be honest, when I look at it like that I guess you guys are right. Cheers.

  • It is Break, Look up the lyrics

  • A man whose a dreamer and never takes leave

Who thinks of a world that is make believe

    Will never know passion

    Will never know pain

    Who sits by the window

    Will one day see rain.

The greatest adventure, is what lies ahead

Today and tomorrow are yet to be said,

The chances the changes, are are all yours to make

The mold of your life, is in your hands to break.

  • I love this song!! ^_^

  • I would like to know myself. AFAICT it is not in iTunes or Amazon.

  • See the comment I put on the vid. that will tell you.

  • Can anyone tell me where to download this?

  • who singa this?

  • Glen Yaborough

  • One of my favorate stories and such a great song that it plays in my mind even when I read the book. :)

  • i love this song x1000000000000000000000000000

  • Wow, that takes me back aways. something like 15 years! A classic song, from the best motion picture telling of this epic story.

  • This movie is one of the greatest animation achievements of all time. The detail and emotion bestilled upon the characters and enviroments is really quite astounding

  • Its a book by J.R.R. Tokien.
