you gotta keep doing these, some of this is news to me

  • It's a beautiful thing when people show their appreciation for the awesome fusion of these two epic musical styles.

  • Awesome... I think FUNKY COLD MEDINA is actually based more on FOREIGNER'S "HOT BLOODED" guitar hook and the opening drum break from THE ROLLING STONES' "HONY TONK WOMEN" though ...but I might be wrong.

  • Funky Cold Medina's main guitar riff is from Hot Blooded, has a small riff from Christine Sixteen by Kiss, and has the opening drums from both Honky Tonk Women and Get Off Your Ass and Jam by Funkadelic.

  • Song #4: Was Dog A Doughnut by Cat Stevens was sampled by Sauce money on the song "Do you See" Featuring Puff Daddy from his debut CD "Middle Finger U". Keep on diggin!!!!!! : D

  • I knew that was sampled by Jay-Z. Is that the sampled he used when him and Nas was beefin'?

  • yo Funktuall!

Can you make a video about the songs which sampled the Mary Mary by The Monkees?

I know the Run DMC - Mary Mary

Fatboy Slim - Brimfull of Asha

The Frank Popp Ensemble - You've been gone too long!

    But who else used it?

  • @funktuall Ha, Glenn Frey is a dick! Your YouTube channels is one of the best things going, a real education and a lot of fun too! Great stuff!

  • the drums from fools gold are sampled by the way. stone roses took the break from bobby byrd - hot pants.

  • what is funk? i think its sick

  • glad u did a rock edition. but one minor correction. mama miss america.(awesome track) is not wings, actually just paul from first solo record entitled simply "Mccartney"

  • Hey thanks! My bad. I need a fact-checker like on Round the Horn.

  • DUFF!! :D

  • im glad they said no to you because you deserve to be on a channel better than MTV. they dont even play music vids anymore do they? anyways keep up the good work that was pretty entertaining!

  • Damn, I didn't realize The Turtles were that cool! Buzzsaw is quite a step up from "Happy Together" and "You Baby."

  • Manni from the Stone Roses stated in an interview that the bassline from Fool's Gold came about from them jamming to Young MC's "Know How". If you listen it's identical. Also Fool's Gold goes down well when dropped anywhere.

  • können nicht warten, bis das nächste Video mein Freund .... alles, was bisher über die Nummer

  • Wow for Heart of Glass. Keep em coming.

  • yeah.....tone-loc, run dmc.........very nice!! much love-peace!

  • Anyone who is an avid Simpson fan and a funk junkie, is alright with me.

Thanks for another well done video.*****

  • You should shop for a TV show!!It would have high ratings!!!lol

  • Only problem with that is he'd have to get permission to play every song. It would be a big pain.

  • stunning

  • 120% sample junkie

    right on!

  • thanks otto for the sample list i've been waiting for - the doors, david bowie, the turtles?, some heavy hitters right there

  • So dope, I remember finding that little feat tip and feeling those drums so much.

  • i always wonderd where DNICE got that sample

  • DOPE!!! That Mama Miss America... Wow... So Sweet... Knocked another out the park dude!!!

  • Doesn't matter if it's Nas or Sting, both tracks are really deep. The first time I heard the Sting song was in this movie Léon, so I always remember the movie when I hear this song.

Btw, where did you get that Duff can?

  • Spencers gifts

  • dude ur freakin great

    thank you

  • mannn where you been at!?!!

  • great lesson...especially the tone loc sample, cause i have the kiss record over years and didn't registrade it...

    great entertaiment!

    duff beer ...he he

  • Hey man, just thought I'd tell you that I heard Mani, the bass player of the Stone Roses say that he basically ripped off the bassline for fool's gold after hearing a Run Dmc track. So I don't know where they took it from in the first place, but this was a case of rock, sampling hip hop, sampling rock!

  • Is it just me or does the Sting song sound like it's also sampled on So Sick by Ne-Yo?

    D Berk

  • That sounded like a newly re-recorded version of "Sweet Pea". Drums sound different.

  • Great vid dude. Thanks for posting this.

And nah McCartney didn't ruined his career by joing Wings, it made him richer. LOL!!!! Peace.

Don't forget Van Halen's "Jamie's Crying" which Tone Loc sample for "Wild Thing" & it would be cool if you could break down The Beastie Boys classic samples from their masterpiece "Paul's Boutique" & Dangermouse's "The Grey Album.

  • I got #2 instantly,it's Jackin For Beats by Ice Cube. Volume Peace lol
