Unfortunately for you, Fallout Boy has influenced many bands and has revolutionized music and stage performance. I know you're trying to be anti-conformist but all you sound like is someone who doesn't know much about music but has an opinion of it anyways. I can say this because I listen to everything from local bands to huge bands. Also, the guitarist's guitar is out of tune.. Actually I'm a musician too and they have influenced me a lot. Along with many other bands who I've met in my travels. I normally don't listen to a lot of main stream stuff but these guys have really grown on me. I'm sick of all that Metal shit that's taken over the music industry and I'm sick of all of the people who listen to classic rock and think that there is no good new music. When Fallout Boy first came out everyone jumped on their sound. It may be fad music but that doesn't make it bad.

I listen to Radiohead and many classic rock bands too but you need to understand that there is more music than just the stuff that's supposed to be "underground." I respect Radiohead but they are far from the best of our generation, Fallout Boy is too. In terms of music I would say someone like Matthew Good or U2 are the best writers around right now.

How has Fallout Boy "revolutionized music"? They are a pop punk band. Pop punk has been around since about 1986 with the Descendents and Green Day made it popular. So in a sense Green Day revolutionized music and Fall Out Boy was influenced by them (and Blink 182, probably more by Blink). And this song is just a major scale dude, thats not like insanely technical. Its not like they're using mixolydian models and changing keys using the melodic and harmonic minor scales.

I'm not talking about technical playing, I'm talking about technical writing. There's a difference. Technical playing sucks unless its done by someone who has extreme genius, someone like Chet Atkins. Technical writing is writing something artistic and listenable. This song isn't too technical but Thanks for the Memories is.
