your kidding right lol, the recession is making it impossible for kids to find jobs because know one is leaving their jobs therefore know one is hiring. It took me 6 months to find employment.

Taking a loan for school or things of a similar matter is not as bad (of course it's still bad to be in debt) as taking a loan to..buy an expensive car, or a tv or whatever. There's a difference between debt and debt and I think one of the problems today is that that fine line has been blurred. They should teach you how to manage your money in school, I don't know how it is in the UK but here it's close to no education at all on the matter.

i'm from the uk, and i do recall a few lessons being spent on money management during social studies..but out of all the thousands of lessons we take i cant see how it's gunna be memorable or helpful :S

alot of people are in debt however because theres no other option for them its either borrow money or your life gets very difficult
