@takismondeo maybe it seems like that because these two countries have a similar point of view quite often, but they are equal. A lot of people don't know that nearly every decision in foreign policies Germany makes is talked back with France and the other way around as well. When it comes to global conflicts like the Iraq case I would even say France is still the primus inter pares, the Germans leave the first move naturally up to them - its like holding the door open for a cute French girl^^

From where I stand, my country is not controlled by Germany and it is (sadly) a member of the EU. Oh, and don't try telling me that the British empire fell... @misamoomin The British Empire was not bad although they lost USA pretty quickly and then that same country came back to rescue them and then split them into tiny pieces. But, like I said, the humor is superb and the British people are lovely. Germans are not so likable, although their civilisation is very good. They adapt very well too; after failing to conquer Europe by war they conquered it by economy.

I loved Germany when I was there. Made some good friends (also made some good friends in Ireland. I'm American, and Dylan Moran has a lot to say about that. All that aside, Dylan Moran is hilarious.

Ireland has a fascinating past stretching back 1000s of years and a culture that is know world wide. What do most people across the world think of when they hear the word germany? I'm not entirely sure how great the land of Germany is but, well, think about what they're famous for.
Beer, chocolate, fantastic cars.
Far superior to drinking, smoking, fighting Ireland and England, the land of terrible dentistry and an incestuous royal family.
Nothing positive about Australia though.

Comon people, this is funny but bullshit at the same time. :-) I'm NOT German or Austrian or whatever, but I know many germans and they are brilliant people.Very friendly and strong personalities, not like spoilet British or French guys. Also Germany has a great landscape, cities, culture events, theire food is very tasty (at least for me from Czech Rep.) and so on..

I think the key part of this joke that people miss is when he says "On the same weekend that I went to California and Austrailia" haha which is saying that he didn't stay there so he's relying on stereotypes that which, ironically, he accusses the English of doing...the main part of this joke is the first part and the rest of it is supposed to be German stereotypes which, if you live here (Germany) you'll find aren't true and are funny to people here when foreigners say them.

i travelled through Germany for 6 months with work i hated the people and the food,but the countryside is amazing but this guy is a comedian and if any of you dont like then dont watch.Some people on here are far to serious and surprise they are nearly all German......shocking that isnt it.

They mock the queen too, by the way, on UK national tv. Debate and free speech is the basis of democracy, afterall. Perhaps you would prefer to return to imperialism, where free speech is not allowed and nobody can say that Hitler was a useless, evil little man?

If someone thinks Germany is terrifying, it's probably because of Hitler, if someone thinks Germany is badass, it's absolutely not because of Hitler unless they're a seriously messed up person.

@IDariusTheGreat I don't know about in Germany, but I don't think anyone but a Nazi thinks Hitler was a "badass". Hitler didn't create a stigma that the German people were "badass", he created a stigma that they were heartless evil murderers. Now this isn't true of the modern day German people, but that's what it's a stigma and not truth. But I have no idea why you would think anyone thinks Germans are badass because of an evil man who committed mass genocide.
