Nobody can beat Peggy Lee's timing. The voice isn't really "pretty" but it sure is expressive. When she sings, there's no question of what the song is about and how it reflects the deepest emotions of the lyricist and composer, while Lee stamps it with her unique take!
Once she enters your ears you can't deny her. She is truly Haunting! I can't get her out of my system after .....years! Phrasing at it's best!
