I could only realize how twisted is this series to look back again the two seasons, I think it is a series that needs to be seen several times in order to notice all the little details, if it is impossible for a third season..... at least HBO should do a special program to put a final conclusion to this great series.

I have Season 1 on DVD and the dark undertone in this video when Mussolini (is that Mussolini?) appears isn't as noticeable; it's lacking some of the instrumentation that's present here. @humokay50 No chance for a season 3. HBO dropped it after lackluster 2nd season ratings. All the actors went their seperate ways. It is HIGHLY unlikely that a show ever gets a second chance once the axe has fallen. Firefly got a movie after fans rallied. Star Trek the original series DID get saved for a couple more seasons due to fan outcry but those days are over. Someone else may possibly do a remake in the future, like Dune and Battlestar.

I think this show's opening is the best I've seen in a long time, it is really chilling and definitely sets the mood for the show and even the whole time period. The magician card with the demon falling from the sky and the face in the tarot turning into the Okie(or European, not sure) girl's face gets to me every time! Best music for an opening :D

I dont know what happened with season two disc two, cause disc two says disc one and is the same copy as disc one, in other words i did not get disc two for season two. I got it for christmas from my brother and i dont know where he purchased it from. I e-mailed HBO about this, and i am going to have to wait for an answer, is there anything i can do? I love this series so much. I was hooked after the first fifteen minutes. The only bad thing about watching it is that, like watching Band of Brothers, I'm spoiled and now have very high expectations for other series that I watch. When I went back to watching Robin Hood (season 3 was so awful with its bad writing) I kept saying, "Why isn't everyone dirty? It looks like they all just showered and had someone do their hair."

So sad that this was supposed to be a six season show only to play for two. I remember watching the series premiere while on a trip to Pittsburgh 09/2003. I had once traveled with a carnival and it was great to see those folks as human and not as monsters. I'm sad that I'll never realize intent of the series and the outcome. It was good vs. evil & how our perceptions can drive us into judgment. Was Ben evil for being a carny, or was the preacher evil? We have perceptions of each man. *sigh*

Actually, season 2 answered the characters' motivations pretty well I think. Ben embraced his Avataric powers while Brother Justin completely embraced his evil side.

It was a great show about way too many things to list here. Basically this guy named Ben lived with his mom who hated him because he had the power to heal by taking life from something else. She died, and while he buried her, he met the leader of the Carnivale. He went with them, and SOO much more happened. For some reason, HBO cancelled it after two seasons. It ended with a cliffhanger, and never came back on.

I think they planned every two seasons to be a "Book". So in total, there were supposed to be 3 books. 1/2 season, 3/4 season and 5/6 season. But it was intended to be 6 seasons in total.
