  • I hate you!!!! You say in you video there are 8 screws to take of the front screen. you only show yourself taking off 7 screws and disregard the other 3. SO there are obviously 10 screws you need to take off!!! 2 on top, 2 on bottom and 6 on the sides. where the hell did you get 8??!?!?! now my lcd screen is crack because of your inconsiderate/neligable ass. Again.... I HATE YOU!!!!

  • The battery connector cable on my iPhone 4 is fried. Is there anyway to replace that cable? I can get the phone to respond when it's connected to the computer, but since the cable is fried and can't be plugged in, it doesn't stay powered up for too long.

  • How is everyone today?

  • all i wanna do is take off the back cover and the front cover and make my iphone 4 white do i has to take everything out to take off the front cover?

  • @TheJusting650 Yes you do.

  • To replace the digitzer or LCD on the iphone 4 you've got to take the whole phone apart but with the 3G and 3gs, to take the 2 screws out and the bottom and then ten to fifteen minutes later fixed, but saying that if you want to replace the battery in an iphone 4 takes about 2 steps, with an iphone 3g/3gs, you've got to take the screen and the mother board out. Just saying

  • I jumped into a pool with mine, and it didn't work after the rice until t took it apart and officially got all the pool water out of it.

Now I can hear calls and texts, play music, and charge it.. but I am unable to see anything. Does anyone know what I could do other than get a refurbished one for $99?

Is there any hope for my phone?

  • @AbbeySmithy nope and you probably wont get for at least $200

  • @AbbeySmithy you can try putting it in distilled water and letting it dry for a few days, my phone was washed at 90 degrees once and this trick got it back to life.. although I would suggest removing the battery just to be sure

  • @AbbeySmithy

you could have tried soaking it in rubbing alcohol with the battery removed. Then allow it to dry (this is a better method than distilled water because rubbing alcohol will get oils better and evaporate faster). if you get another phone and drop it in water, dont try to turn it on. try everything and then hope it turns on.

  • 11 Apple Geniuses Disliked this video.....

  • 11 People failed doing this.

  • damn i couldn't open it so i just smashed it and sold it as is 400 dollars

  • Why is it so hard for me to get my skrews out? im about to strip them, every video ive seen people just glide through getting all the skrews out but mine are stuck! It;'s so frustrating! what can I do to make them come out easier!?

  • @crimsonencarta your skrews might be glued in or ur turning them the wrong way.... remember righty tighty lefty lossey

  • you think i could do a paint job on it after taking it apart? like spray painting it a certain colour or a stencil of some kind?

  • Thank you for this video. I was able to fix my sister-in-law's iphone4 that she dropped in a glass of soda.

  • @secretweaponevan, did you have to replace any parts? or how did u do it exactly, im lost and no where near a techie. please help

  • @hummy2203

I had to buy the pentalobe screwdriver to take off the "bulwark screws". I didn't have to replace anything, I just had to rinse the soda off the parts. I rinsed all but the battery, the vibro-motor and the camera. I then placed all parts in a tupperware with white rice. THE RICE POKED THE BACK OF THE LCD SCREEN AND MADE IT LOOK SPARKLY! :( You should use those silica packs and be careful of the LCD. Better yet, send your phone to this guy. I just did it myself to try to learn.

  • @secretweaponevan thank you I guess I will see if the rice helps I did take the back off a blew dry it for about 20 minutes on low, it doesnt seem wet, it only went in on the top and now its been in rice for 48 hrs or longer but im still scared to plug it in and try it. ALthough I know it is completely dead. Also the sensor on the bottom is still white(on the inside) so i dont think it got anywhere near the charging unit, woudl you try it?

  • @hummy2203 My sister-in-law had her's in rice for 3 days. The problem was that the dried soda was creating a short. Upon factory reset, the screen would just 'blip' for about 1/10 of a second. It would still ring, but you couldn't see the screen. I took it apart and dunked every piece (but the 3 mentioned) in a bowl of water, let them air dry, then put them in white rice for 3 days. Works fine now except for the "sparkly" screen.

  • @taylorbarrnz oh is it ?? no wonder low sounds....... so both side looks like speakers left is mic and right side only one speaker :( that too low sound :(

  • sir there is a problem in my iphone 4 the left side speaker sound is not coming but right side speaker sound is coming,. how to repair this ?

  • The 6 side screws for the front panel don't need to fully come out; you can just loosen them a couple of threads. The digitizer can come off with those screws still in there ( makes it a bit easier). Just saying. :)

  • hey man great vid :) was wondering if you could do a vid on the iphone 4 home button dissassembly. would be great :)

    thanks

  • My iPhone 4 was completely water logged. Any way it can be repaired or does it have to be replaced?

  • i kind of spilled juice on my phone and top button feels like it is stick when i push it down. Can i bring it to the apple store and have them open it up and clean the inside.

  • Hey Global Repair, im replaceing the iphone4 screen with gorilla glass, is it possible?

  • @darcflame37 iphone 4s already have gorilla glass...

  • @owenowen1000

It's interesting. The glass on this phone may flex like no other, but shatters just as easy. The kind of break between dropping and flexing is very different.

  • does the pry tool have to be green?

  • @zombiesnow048 lol, stop being silly.

  • well i just got back from the apple store and said.. "well, what the heck, lets just take the iPhone 4 apart and see how it works" hahaha

  • whoa,,, tiny screws

  • Do you know anywhere where I can get someone to do this for me? Do you think the Apple Store will?

  • @DethPotatoSkinz the apple store will do this for you but will charge you quite a sum of money depending on what you are getting replaced.

  • How easy were the side frame screws to take out? For some reason mine are a real beach so it's stopping me from getting out the digitizer/LCD =\

  • well i done some research about the most important stuff well all the credit goes to samsung but i still like apple mor than samsung

  • some of the newer iphone 4's use a 5 sided star screw,I wanted to take mine apart and well i had to buy a special orange torx driver PLEASE DONT BUY THE BLUE ONES THEY DONT WORK at all

  • in soviet russia phones take you apart!

  • now im going to put a bomb in mine and make a app called suicide button!! you press the button, you blow up! brb my friend wants a go ^^

  • FYI:

For those that don't know, you're gonna need a #000 (triple zero) phillips screw driver for most of the screws. And don't try to wedge a smaller flat-head tip into the phillips screw-head...you'll just damage the screw, if you do that. Also, don't be afraid to pull hard on that tab that lifts the battery; if you're doing it for the first time, it will seem like it's really stuck and doesn't want to come out, but just keep pulling and it will pop right out.

  • samsung flight is better than iphone4

  • @MrDubz25 alright that piece of shit isnt even a smart phone

  • you can peel the water sicker up easily and place to the side and then re attach when finished.....

  • EVO is better.

  • @smartpartsSUCKS no one asked you :D

  • @KaloAngelTV Sure they did, read back in the comments

  • THE FUCKING TAB BROKE.

  • Piece of cake!

  • Fuckin ay! Mine just slid out of my pocket as I was kneeling less than a foot and shattered on the deck. The glass is strong like they said though... it didn't fall out everywhere like regular glass would. And now for being a loyal returning customer its $199.99 + plus some fee to get it fixed when the glass can be bought on ebay for about 30 bucks. #_x

  • is it possible to change the 16GB disk with a 32GB?(at home)??????

  • @GLR26591 no, it's soldered to the motherboard

  • so all our money goes for the screws installation?....screw it
