The general perception is, if there is global warming then the effect will be a constant warming increasing every year. That is not the case. The increase in frequency of very hot one year and very cold the next is the actual result of global warming. it can even vary day by day. or week by week. Its not natural for the northern ice to melt and the antartic ice to increase. I live in detroit so i know what you mean. Not all areas will see such dramatic results.

State rights to decide whether or not to legalize drugs, raise speed limits, let 18 year olds drink, allow discrimination in housing, put caps on emissions, allow the death penalty, allow medical marijuana, allow assisted suicide, etc.

It was created by Margaret Thatcher back in the 80's when she first created an organisation for investigating the causes of climate change as they related to coal plants in Britain. At the time britain was heavily dependent on the US for coal in the same way that the US is indebted to the middle-east for oil today. So to reduce the dependency upon the US for coal they created a situation whereby they could blame coal-plants and the production of so called 'green-house gasses' on global-warming.

How do you explain that while those small ice sheets melt, the vast majority of ice in Antarctica is actually GROWING. The only part that's melting is the Peninsula, which juts out towards Chile. How do you explain the cold winter the Great Lakes region (which I live) just had? We had weeks and weeks where the temperature didn't reach freezing. It's been years since that's happened.

The general perception is, if there is global warming then the effect will be a constant warming increasing every year. That is not the case. The increase in frequency of very hot one year and very cold the next is the actual result of global warming. it can even vary day by day. or week by week. Its not natural for the northern ice to melt and the antartic ice to increase. I live in detroit so i know what you mean. Not all areas will see such dramatic results.

Look at the famines that are hitting africa the last few years because the rains have diminished due to global warming. Millions have died over there because of it. And yes its been hotter than ever. He was the one who put the sunset clauses in the patriot act, it was an excellent strategy to help prevent it from being an everlasting piece of legislation. The unfortunate thing about the patriot act is that congress still hasn't bothered to read it and just blanket reinstates it every time it comes up for vote. What Bob Barr did is the equivalent of a poison reverse. He had to have known the legislation would pass regardless, but if it was to pass he was going to put some brakes on it.

It's hard to believe anybody votes for candidates in either of the two main parties.
I suppose it really doesn't matter who you vote for now with all the electronic voting machines in use at the polls.

America without a President like Obama or McCain is like Iraq without a dictator. Majority of Americans are conditioned to vote for either a far right republican or a far left democrat. It is not in their paradigm of thought to consider a Libertarian that represents liberty, freedom, economics, national defense, state rights - and what's that piece of paper called again? It AMAZES me how stupid, uninformed, & incompetent "reporters" on TV are. Before you interview a guy on national television how about you do a little homework? Just 2 minutes of research would have told him that Bob Barr has been the presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party for about a MONTH now. It scares me that so many people get their "news" from guys like this. How are viewers ever going to learn they have other choices if these folks don't even know? Pathetic.

The Republican party needs its teeth kicked in - especially at the top end of the ticket! If I was an adviser for the Republican party, I'd suggest abandoning any hope of getting the White House and concentrate on taking back Congress, especially the House! I'd also suggest distancing myself as far away from the 'establishment hacks' in the party as much as possible (i.e. Bush, Cheney, McCain, Romney, etc.)
