  • I have the honor of saying I sat in the cockpit of one of these bad boys. It was cut out of the plane though :/

  • vintage

  • ZOMG ITS THA PLANE THATS IN BLACOPS OMGWTFBBQ!! ..

    I have no life ;_;

  • The MiG-25 still holds the record for the highest flying aircraft at 115,000 feet.

  • the xmen jet reminds me of this, based off same design.

  • black ops- 7 kill streak

  • You know what I realized... these people from other countries, they need to realize the difference between facts and ignorance. Every time the U.S. makes the best of something (most likely because they had the technology 30 yrs before any other country, and still do) they come around trolling "it's R a parce of sit, ruSovian indano jut mooch batter". That is ignorance my friends. The U.S. INVENTED the freakin airplane 100 years ago. We're gonna be more advanced. Stop being jealous.

  • @TheWhynaut I'm sorry, but it's far too tempting to poke a hole in your argument. *Ahem* If you had the technology 30 years before any other country, how did the Russians get to space first? Why was the first fighter plane German? How did the British build a VTOL jet when the Russians and the US failed over and over again. And how did Britain and Germany develop jet planes before the US?

Are we the ones who need to realize the difference between facts and ignorance?

  • @ChumbaWumbaStudios I hate that "the Russians made it to space first" crap. The U.S. were the first ones to successfully land, and set foot, on the moon. I'd call that a bigger achievment than shooting a projectile with a man in it into orbit around the Earth, which is all controlled by natural gravity. The F35 is going to put the AV-8B out of date, we invented the first airplane (maybe not the first jet powered), but if there was no first, there would be no jet. We made the jet work best of any

  • @TheWhynaut Do you know the immense amount of maths and science involved to put a rocket into space and keep it there? When the Russians did it first, NASA tweeked their science and applied it to Saturn V to get to the moon.

I admit, yes the F35 will outdate the Harrier, but if our government hadn't cut the budget, we'd have a much better VTOL jet by now, in addition with the TSR-2.

And if the US hadn't built the first plane I'm pretty sure someone else would have done it later, probably Germany

  • @ChumbaWumbaStudios

Totally agree.... and you know why the US and Russia fail at the original VTOL aircraft... because they were both focussed on power (as usual) trying to use twin engines which they could never get perfectly in sync... hence instability.

  • You need to do a bit of research before you make grandihose claims. The US didn't invent the aircraft. They were the first to attain "sustained powered flight".

The first recorded flights (gliding) were by Sir George Caykey of England and Otto Lilienthal of Germany in the 18th century.

Leonardo Da Vinci invented the Airplane in the 14th/15th Century. He may not have actually made it at the time but it has since been made to faithfully represent his design... AND IT WORKED.

  • I heard this bird coming down from 125000 to 95000 feet in an emergency overhead texas gliding from Dallas to El Paso.SR 71 was a lot faster than3.o Mach.

    Scarpa

  • so sexy

  • this plane can record a golfball while its flying such a boss:)

  • we will never know the true AGL of this aircraft or the new ones that have replaced it that fly our skies right now! that we still don't even know what they r called

  • @jrockmk8 The flight manual for the SR-71 is declassified. You can find it online. And we no longer use spy planes like this or the U-2. We have satellites for that now.

  • @nexus1g Isn't the U-2 still in active service over Afghanistan?

  • @DeadMemories03 Ah, you're right. Thanks for the info. I didn't know its retirement date was extended.

  • @nexus1g satelites are far from perfect.Response time can can be long, and they know when they pass above.

  • fastest yes the highest know close but the mig 25 foxbat has a attluted to recored of 124000 feet but sr71 got about 115000

  • ENEMY SR-71 ABOVE!!!

  • FRICKIN' AWESOME!!!

  • i'd love to commute to work in this everyday lol

  • It isn´t use anymore

  • 0:39 Mach 300? htf?!

  • @700mobster That would be 3.00 lol

  • Dear Santa...

  • This shit isnt most highest. mig-25 got highest attidute!

  • It was made redundant by satellites, which are now able to do what the blackbird did.

  • @MynameisElliott wrong.Satelites are far from flexible.Talk about telegraphing when they pass above.shish

  • @t5239857289578947594 Your photo is really gay.

  • @MynameisElliott LOL! You just made my day.

  • Pfffff, Pfffff, I AM DART VADER, Pfffff, pffff

  • @tijmenvs25 "dart vader"? you mean "darth vader"

  • @fexxa1 Hahaha, sorry... That was just stupid.

  • i heard that it was brought down by russian anti air is that true ??

  • @01FNG No that was the U2.

  • Our SR-71 is in the air

  • Still not better than MiG 25.

  • ya what llaneliscarlets2 sed

  • ufo

  • 9 russians made accounts to dislike this

  • MiG-25 was able to fly MUCH higher than Blackbird, and it's a fact

  • It looks like a piece of shit thrown togther, no wonder a few fell apart mid air!

  • fucking kid says will it blend when they probably have no idea how fast mach 3 is

  • I love this airlane but...the hight record isnt a MiG 25?

  • @mauricioalfredo83 mig 25 is still in limited production.

  • @mauricioalfredo83 no. not at all

  • @megageraldb ......On 25 July 1973, A. Fedotov reached 35,230m with 1,000 kg payload, and 36,240 m with no load (an absolute world record)....like 115.000 ft if U want the math

  • @mauricioalfredo83 ok i dont give a shit tough guy. die.

  • @megageraldb if U didnt care U wouldnt mind to answer...BABY CRY XD....vids are no competition couse I like SR71 but facts and ignorance are another thing

  • @mauricioalfredo83 I DONT GIVE A SHIT. FUCK U

  • Blackops!!!

  • That would be fucking awesome to fly with

  • There's no other jet that gets altitude cuz the s-71 flys at the peak of space. Any other jet that goes higher is considered a spaceship.

  • Though the SR71 is very good I think you will find the English Electric Lightening holds the record for altitude gain over time and highest altitude gained in a zoom climb. As far as conventional engined air craft goes. The SR 71 only gets to its high speed in level flight due to the airo spike combined engine system. The spike part being a copy from the British speed of sound project the data of which was copied in a UK US double cross data exchange were the yanks failed to come through on.

  • watch the documentary on this in the cold war its area 51 i was there on discovery a few month ago it was good

  • it was made to spy above

  • What a great bird !! The top speed and top height are still classified.

It is my favorite plane of all time !!!!

  • @leblancguillaume Are they really still classified? The SR71 is out of service now, and I thought it's ceiling and speed were know because it holds the records for a fixed wing jet powered craft.

  • Enemy sr 71 in the air!

  • the CoD series, although terrific, is not even close to realistic warfare. I served in the US Army for 18 years and I have seen real combat, and I have to say, videogames dont even come close to being realisitic. The SR-71 shown in Call of Duty Black Ops does not portray how an actual take off would occur. The pilots wouldn't just salute the mechanics and walk on board. There is much preparation in the handlers of the fastest, hig

  • @RedLightDistrikt21 hest climbing airplane in the world.

  • whats a Black Ops?

  • this plane was made to see things and things to not see it

  • stop it with all of these comments about people commenting about c0d just enjoy the damn video you didnt know all this shit at one point either.

  • Was the Sr-71 made to outrun or fly above soviet AA defense and jets

  • @ThatNoobSomber ... Both.

  • how fast is march 3 in mph

  • @gta1771 mach 3 in mph is a little over 2100 mph

  • @wafflecopter17 thanks

  • I made a model sr-71 its my fav thing in my room : D

  • Fastest jet ever made, highest flying as well.

  • I heard Chuck Norris uses these as a jet pack

  • @Jvergakis Wrong this plane uses him as jet pack

  • @randomtoa lol

  • Beautiful! :')

  • The predecessor to the SR-71, the YF-12 was actually faster and flew higher than the SR-71, due to the lighter smaller fuselage.

  • chucky lmfao ...apparently you cared enough to oppose my opinion

  • I love the blackbird. It's awesome!

  • Transformers

  • jo any one now whats the max altatude dor the sr71 and also the max speed plzzzzz reply and thx if u do. btw nice vid

  • @MyLeft4dead If memory serves correct, it can fly at 2700mph, at 120,000 feet.

  • @Bowlinking

ari bro btw what mach would that be mach 3.7

  • @MyLeft4dead About 2700mph.

  • @Bowlinking The ops manual didn't go beyond 90,000ft. Operating alt. was 80-85k. Mach 3.6 was max op speed

  • @Bowlinking The operating manual did not go beyond mach 3.6 or 90,000ft. It was limited in speed by temperatures. Above mach 3.6 the temps woud start to destroy sysems on the aircraft. Alt and speed info as well as some other info is no longer classified.

  • at 0:37 i thought that ment mach 300 i was like O_o

  • But the questions is...... Will it blend?

  • @sindude300 asshole stop copping me

  • Will it blenb?

  • @98TheBlack It doesent LAND at that speed idiot.

  • mach 3+

  • @98TheBlack The tires would desecrate at that speed idiot.

  • I want to sky dive from that.

  • fucking kids mention black ops when they dont even know why this air craft was made

  • @sonic1891 who gives a fuck.

  • @sonic1891 You got that right. If "Blackops" didn't even come out they would not know what SR-71 is. I'm with you on that comment.

  • @sonic1891 Why was it made?

  • @meteor4163 hmmm read the description before asking a question

  • @sonic1891 Yeah i hate this so much if persons who see the SR-71 talk about Call od duty thats nonesense !

  • @sonic1891 8 kills required LOL joke. I know why it was made! To spy on the RUssians and see what they were buliding. It was attempted to be shot down thousands of times. All failed.

  • @sonic1891 idk why its made but i do know is that i used to have a toy of it

  • @sonic1891 wasnt it made as a spy plane for the c.i.a.? i think cant remember :P

  • @MrVictorPrez94 It was, but soon after the first missions, it was passed over to USAF. The reason was that if a CIA Blackbird pilot or RCO were captured, they could be regarded as spyes and therefore executed. On the other hand, if the captured Blackbird crew was working under command of USAF they were technicaly military pilots, so they would be held as prisoners.

  • @LIGHTNICK625 1 thing learned a day thanks for the info :D(hope its real) lol

  • @MrVictorPrez94 It is real! I heard it myself in a discovery channel docummentary about the SR-71.

  • @sonic1891 blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blac blackops blackops blackops blackop blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops blackops

  • @sonic1891 course they do, its to show enemy positions *rolls eyes*

  • @sonic1891 Ofcourse ''fucking kids'' know why it was made.. Hee its aweome in BO to fly in it/ use it

  • @sonic1891 It is a Mach 3 Aircraft with good antiradar abilitys

  • Even the North American A-5 Vigilante flew higher pre dating the SR-71 at 91,419 ft.

  • isnt this the one that beast of xmen created

  • @OrryBoy yh, mabie thats how it was REALLY created lol

  • I love the Blackbird but it's not the highest flying jet aircraft. The record belongs to a Russian pilot .The highest current world absolute general aviation altitude record -General Aviation World Records- achieved by a manned air-breathing jet propelled aircraft is 37,650 meters (123,523 feet) set by Alexandr Fedotov, in a Mikoyan Gurevitch E-266M (MiG-25M), on 31 August 1977.

  • @Winderon3 That record was achieved with a zoom climb, not level altitude flight. To get 123000ft the MIG-25 had to be flown as fast as possible then initiate a "zoom" to a vertical climb where the engines flamed out at their max operating altitude and the plane coasted to the peak altitude by its momentum alone. The SR-71 did 80000ft routinely in level flight with no zooming and engines still running...

  • wtf this seems an 80's documentary

  • blackbird xD .. sr71 ready for deployment

  • @afromusician1 ur a fag go fuck urself

  • where are the Blackops gamers????

  • @MrNN1414 they are home playing black ops AKA gay ops

  • @DISPENSER4HIRE Meh, are you aware of it's problems? Example: when they had flown it for the first time, the airplane couldn't be refueled fully again on the ground, as the gas would just leak out through the tanks

  • @Digger843ASXM It was designed that way to account for expansion in flight. It "grew" 11in at mach 3.6

  • area 51!=D

  • x men first class brought me here

  • Comment removed

  • @jenova6669 I think you misread the video statistics...

  • but the question is....will it blend?

  • @penguinwarrior7890 No it will not.

  • @penguinwarrior7890 We're gonna need a damn big blender. Someone get Blend-Tec on the line.

  • @penguinwarrior7890 dude that joke is so used up

  • Thumbs up for CoD : Black Ops!!

  • @PwNeRTheReal Black Ops is NOTHING like real life so please go away and stay away.

  • @PwNeRTheReal Or you mean the worst 60$ iv'e ever spent? Yea, that too.. Go out and read a book and tell me that black ops and real life are two completely different things.

  • the most beautifull plane in the world

  • This plane flew across the US from California to Washington DC in 1 hour and 4 minutes.... Now tell me? It did not land once besides its final arrival... It was refueled in air and this plane was used as a Spy plane with a camera (recorder) that was as strong as a satellite.

  • BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS BLACK OPS .. uh oh, i insulted the people who are seriously dedicated to sounding better then everybody else by not mentioning a video game. both of the top comments were made by idiots, what the fuck difference does it make? are they trying to sound more "adult" or some bullshit?

  • @JakayBalay202 They are teens trying to get respect on here.

  • guys post whatever you like, if its black ops or what, who gives a shit anyway.

  • RS-71 INBOUnD

  • @MrThegamer42 i mean SR-71 INBOUND

  • @MrThegamer42 CoD Fanboy inbound-.-

  • Considering this was made 50 years ago i dont think its the fastest and highest jet!

  • @mattymanten It still is, only because it's totally unnecessary to build something "better". Satellites can accomplish 80% of what the Blackbird could, and other spy planes could accomplish another 10% or so... The cost-benefit of having a plane like this was just way off the mark, leaving only the "cool factor". This is why these are all decommissioned, and no one has bothered to build something faster and higher-flying. It's just not needed. If we "wanted to", though, it could be done.

  • @allMTN Actually nothing can do what it does. Many did not want to see it decommissioned. The airforce wanted it decommissioned almost from the start. Politics is the reason.

  • @sonex424 The SR-71 was awesome, but honestly not needed for the modern warfare climate. The strategic advantages that it provides over other available reconnaissance assets are minuscule, but the added cost is substantial, so it was an easy decision to kill the program. I was an Imagery Analyst with the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan, and have worked with literally every type of imagery. Don't get me wrong, I hate that it's gone, but it really was just a Cold War hero.

  • huhu it is real cod black ops it is very nice

  • this plane has to be constantly fueled while it is on the ground because the way it is built means it has to allow the parts to expand on heating up. so if it was all one peice closly fitted together, it would break when in flight. its quite clever XD

  • I found out about this from Queen Amidalas ship in Phantom Menace

  • Such a badass plane

  • i can never tell the difference between a yf12 and a sr71 on a side view

  • The beauty of this craft!! Just magnificent!!

  • Fuck black ops, This reminds me of a Covent carrier from Halo.....

  • part airplane, part spaceship lol. This is one of the most beautiful planes ever made..

  • behold the glory of jet fire

  • If this plane was made in the 60s....I wonder what the hell they are building now?

  • it was originally supposed to be called the rs-71 but when johnson announced it to the public he made a mistake and called it the sr-71 so instead of manning up and admitting his mistake he ordered skunk works of lockheed to spend millions of dollars renaming every blueprint sr-71

  • ISNT this that jet that grows 15cm every flight?

  • you need balls to fly this beauty

  • I found out about this jet from Xmen

  • This is one of the coolest looking jets ever made, to state the obvious haha

  • You have to get 8 kills to get this bitch.

  • I'm taking Aerospace Engineering and I just got a raging boner.

  • to be honest i found out about this plane because of CoD

  • after doing reports on Area 51 for chool i learned all about this shit

  • @KuzKiller887 Lol, your so fake and gay. Doing reports on Area 51? So now your a news reporter?

  • @MinecraftMods wtf is that suposed to mean i was assigned the topic of Area 51 and this plane was made and declassified their. i prolly no more then u do u fuckin little virgin

  • @KuzKiller887 Okay, hold up. My comment was a little rude, I agree. But what do you mean you did reports on Area 51?

  • @MinecraftMods a school informational report on military and extraterestrial ( prolly spelt that wrong ) info luckily i got a A-!!!!!!!!! FTW

  • the most interesting part is it only took one man to design this beauty... it takes over 800,000 to make an airplane these days anymore
